It was a fiery Independence Day in the tiny town of Egg Harbor, WI. Temperatures climbed to 600 degrees Fahrenheit just before 10 am.

Terrible.
Just awful.
The children. My God, the little babies. Such a loss...

Oddly, no one seems to have recorded this odd weather phenomenon except for the NOAA and Michigan State University, as an entry in the climate data which is being used to bolster claims of global warming. Along with other fraudulent data.

A beleaguered federal agency appears to be implicated in the most blatant and extreme case of climate data fraud yet seen. Official records have been confirmed as evidence that a handful of temperature records for the Great Lakes region have been hiked up by literally hundreds of degrees to substantially inflate the average temperature range for the northeastern United States.

If you go read the article you will see that one of the Great Lakes has also recently boiled away and all the fish are cooked through. If you live nearby you should mosey on down to check it out (bring some tartar sauce).

This could be one of those one-in-twenty bad polls, as no one else has anything like this (and Rasmussen hasn't found Rubio ahead for a long time).

But-- they have it Rubio 38, Crist 33, Meeks 21.

(That's also a much higher level of support for Meeks than anyone else has found.)

Irate JetBlue Flight Attendant Meltdown Animation!

We got a teaser of it yesterday but today we get the full show.

The NY Post as you might imagine is having way too much fun with this story.

Steven Slater's ex-wife, Cynthia Susanne Neithamer, told The Post that her former spouse "has been a fantastic and devoted flight attendant.

"I'm just really surprised [at what he did] because he really loves his job," Neithamer, 38, said outside her Branson, Mo., home.

Neithamer's grandfather, Harry, 82, said the incident was clearly the passenger's fault.

"That passenger must a bitch, just a pure bitch, because nobody else could get him wound up like that," the granddad told The Post.

"He's just a straight person," he said of Slater. "When I first heard about it, I thought they had the wrong name, until I saw the picture of Stevie."

As for the CGI animation stuff, when the hell are US news organization going to get on this? I really want to see Red Eye commission one of them to demonstrate what it will be like when Greg Gutfeld's gay bar opens next to the Ground Zero mosque.

Harry Reid Mystified That Hispanics Could Be Republicans

Just remember, it's Republicans who play on racial fears and pit ethnic groups against one another.

Not surprisingly, the local Las Vegas paper isn't outraged or anything. They seem to think the comment is just part of Reid's efforts to get Hispanic votes and is probably quite sensible in their minds.

Imagine the outrage is Mitch McConnell had said, "I don't know how anyone who is of European heritage could be a Democrat". Yeah, that would just be part of the campaign, nothing to see here, move along.

I really hope Sharron Angle kicks this smarmy bastard out of office.

OK, from the "Extra 5 Minutes of Fame" category, we've got THIS story about a single dad former high school sports star who goes back to his hometown to run for mayor to "make his son proud of him". Or, as we say here in Iowa....a high school dropout starf&*ker who knocked up his high school girlfriend & abandoned her and his infant son to schmooze his way around Hollywood with Kathy Griffin while desperately taking shots at his almost-mother-in-law to try and prolong his alloted 15 minutes.

Yes, that's right. Levi Johnston is back in the news. No, he didn't get arrested in a bus station bathroom for "indecent exposure". No, he didn't get arrested for domestic abuse for whacking his current girlfriend in the melon with a hubcap. No, this is even better than all that. Apparently, Levi's going to be moving back to his hometown of Wasilla, AK and letting a reality show crew follow him around while he runs for the job of Mayor of Wasilla, which comes up for grabs in 2012.

Hey, didn't Wasilla have another famous mayor? One who gave birth to Levi's babymomma? And ran for VP on the Republican ticket 2 years ago? And who provided 99.999% of the reflected fame that Levi has been basking in lately. But don't forget....this show is ALL about Levi, not that ignorant Republican Snowbilly Quitter/Slut.

My thoughts? Well, think about how tired you are of hearing about the Wacky Antics of this sub-genius. Now picture all the residents of Wasilla, who've known him one hell of a lot longer than we have. Yeah, this should go over like a warm case of New Coke in the Runaway Weather Balloon with Star Wars Kid AND the "LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!" androgyne. We're not just in "Heavens Gate" territory here; this is full on Caddyshack 2. Shit, this is Slap Shot 2.

I can't help thinking about the old "Joe Schmo" reality show on Spike TV, where clueless contestants were placed in fake reality shows where EVERYONE else is an actor and in on the gag. Could this be history repeating itself? If this show wasn't the chance for some granola-chewing Hollywood douchenozzles to take weekly shots at Sarrahcuda, I'd say it's fairly likely; but, sadly, I think it's for real.

Levi, if your manager is reading this to you, may I make one suggestion? Kathy Griffin. You do realize that she's famous for hanging with a FABULOUS gay posse, right? You think she might know something about your career prospects (cough, cough, GAY PORN, cough) that you haven't realized yet? But hey, don't let me harsh your buzz. You're doing a bang up job with your life so far. Might as well keep swinging away, Tiger.

Primaries, Polls

Primary votes in Colorado, Connecticut and Minnesota today with a runoff in Georgia. I'll try me a run down:

Georgia: Former SecState and Palin-endorsed Karen Handel in a runoff against former Rep. and Newt-endorsed Nathan Deal. Yesterday's Landmark poll showed Deal with a 2 point lead, and early results (55% reporting) show the same, 51%-49%. Winner faces Former GA Gov. Roy Barnes in November.

Connecticut: No surprises in the Senate races, Linda McMahon outdistancing her opponents and will take on Vietnam Veteran Syd Blumenthal for the Senate seat vacated by Christopher Bankshot Dodds (hey, at least he paid the taxes on his yacht. And the cleaning charges). The governor's race though is still a fight, between noted centrist Ned Lamont and former Stamford mayor Dan Malloy in the Dem race, and Republicans Tom Foley and Lt. Gov Mike Fedele.

Minnesota: Dayton leading big against the other two Dems in the Governor field. Any one of them can beat Horner.

Colorado: No results I can find yet. Incumbent Dem Michael Bennet holds a slight edge (3 pts) over challenger Andrew Romanoff in the Senate primary, and in the Republican race Lt. Gov. Jane Norton against Jim DeMint endorsed Ken Buck. Norton had a 2pt edge in yesterday's PPP. In the Governor's race, Republicans McInnis and Maes are virtually tied, one of them will face unchallenged Dem Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, whose name is so goofy I almost want to pull for him.

Who is the Bully Behind the Pulpit?

Earlier today, President Obama engaged in one of his favorite activities. He stepped in front of television cameras and talked. The message was the usual mix of scaremongering, untruths, demagoguery and, of course, cheap shots aimed at the GOP.

Now, this proposal is fully paid for, in part by closing tax loopholes that encourage corporations to ship American jobs overseas. So it will not add to our deficit. And the money will only go toward saving the jobs of teachers and other essential professionals.

It should not be a partisan issue. I heard the Republican Leader in the House say the other day that this is a special interest bill. And I suppose if AmericaÂ’s children and the safety of our communities are your special interests, then it is a special interest bill. But I think those interests are widely shared throughout this country -- a challenge that affects parents, children and citizens in almost every community in America should not be a Democratic problem or a Republican problem. It is an American problem.

The transcript is from the White House website. As JackM pointed out earlier, Obama is not entirely telling the truth about this money "only" saving jobs:

$10 billion of this money goes to the unions. Before the money gets to the "teachers" the unions skim off their share of mandatory "contributions".

The money skimmed by the unions goes directly into the union political advocacy/footsoldier network to get out votes for Dems.

The second part of the statement is the usual "for the children" pablum issued by Democrat politicians every time one of their most important constituencies needs a payoff. What struck me when I heard him criticize the GOP was how unnecessary it was, given the partisan makeup of the House. When he made this statement, Obama knew he had the votes to pass this bill. He doesn't need the GOP. Basically, he took the cheap shot because he could and it's all he has left.

The White House knows what's coming in November, and instead of acknowledging the political reality and changing tactics, the president and his advisers have decided their best course of action is to make the GOP less popular than the administration. As a co-blogger pointed out during an email discussion, this is similar to how Bill Clinton responded to his party's loss in the 1994 election.

Unlike Obama, however, Clinton took a two-pronged approach: attacking the GOP was one part. Pursuing center-right policies was the other. I don't think Obama has the ability or interest in pursuing centrism, so attacks are all he has. I'm not sure it will work as well for Obama as it did for Clinton. more...
