This has bugged me a lot about some military movies. Most Don't Get The Dang Uniforms Right. It's not that hard. To this day Crimson Tide bugs me.

"They figure that the wardrobe people will do their research," Dye said. "The problem is wardrobe people who've never worn a uniform can do their research but they don't know what they're talking about. They don't know how to wear it. They don't have the insight."

In some cases, wardrobe folks like certain uniforms for the way they look, not whether they are authentic, he said.

Former NYSE Director and Home Depot co-founder Ken Langone puts NYT/CNBC dweeb Andrew Ross Sorkin some f'n knowledge about the rabble in Zuccotti Park.

"The kids downtown, I'd view them as babies in adults' bodies," Langone said in a live interview. "I don't think they know what they want to be when they grow up."

"The generation of children in public schools in America today is the first generation that's going to have a lower literacy rate than the previous generation," Langone said. "There are jobs all over, but you need to be able to count."

Langone wrapped up his lesson for the young whippersnapper thusly:

Let me tell you the biggest down side of the welfare state. We are taking the self-respect of these people away. During the depression, my grandfather who went to -- he left school at 6 years old and he had a shovel in his hand his entire life. During the depression, my grandfather refused to go with what was called home relief. Refused it. He said, no, I'm gonna go out and work. I see taking away people's dignity by them believing they're living off somebody else. and that's the biggest -- that's the highest price we're going to pay over the long term.

The media will play this neutrally as some petty squabble the public doesn't have to concern itself about. Just partisan games.

But one party here seeks to share information with the public, and the other party seeks to hide it from that public.

The White House on Friday all but refused to turn over the documents House Republicans have subpoenaed on bankrupt solar firm Solyndra, firing off a letter saying the request would put an "unreasonable burden on the president's ability to meet his constitutional duties."

The feisty response appears to set up a clash between congressional investigators and the White House over the sprawling probe into Solyndra's finances and the administration's involvement in the decision to provide the struggling company a $528 million loan with taxpayer money.

White House Counsel Kathryn Ruemmler, in her letter, scolded GOP lawmakers for demanding more documents, noting the Obama administration has already turned over 85,000 pages of documents in the course of their investigation. Without explicitly refusing to comply with the subpoena, Ruemmler repeatedly described the order as "overbroad."

"The Committee's extremely broad request for documents -- now a subpoena -- is a significant intrusion on Executive Branch interests," she wrote, saying she can only conclude the subpoena was "driven more by partisan politics than a legitimate effort to conduct a responsible investigation."

The White House is of course turning over lots and lots of documents which are nonresponsive and not what what Congress is asking for.

We're talking about a half a billion dollars, just for Solyndra, nevermind all the other boondoggles.

No, Mr. President, this is not something you get to say "Mind your own business" about. It's a half a billion dollars of our money wasted, not yours.

I Missed The Statement... But apparently she includes the statement that she has "chosen not to relive the incident," but stands by what she claimed, or something.

So she's dropping it completely? Apparently so.

She is not asking the NRA to release her from the confidentiality agreement, except for this brief statement.

Beyond saying "what I said before was accurate," she seems to be saying she won't be talking further about this.

The lawyer continues to talk up the "specific incidences" detailed in the written complaint, and says Cain knows all about them, and etc., but won't say what they are.

She prefers to keep her privacy, but she also prefers to snipe at Cain from that position of privacy?

So... one down? Or is she just not talking now, but if Cain gets closer to the nomination (or wins it), we can expect her to revisit this and begin airing complaints to the media again?

More: The National Restaurant Association actually offered to release this woman from the confidentiality/non-disparagement agreement.

She declined.

Here's their statement:

“We have seen the statement Joel Bennett released earlier today on behalf of his client, a former employee of the Association. The Association consented to the release of that statement, at the request of Mr. Bennett’s client.

“Based upon the information currently available, we can confirm that more than a decade ago, in July 1999, Mr. Bennett’s client filed a formal internal complaint, in accordance with the Association’s existing policies prohibiting discrimination and harassment. Mr. Herman Cain disputed the allegations in the complaint. The Association and Mr. Bennett’s client subsequently entered into an agreement to resolve the matter, without any admission of liability. Mr. Cain was not a party to that agreement. The agreement contains mutual confidentiality obligations. Notwithstanding the Association’s ongoing policy of maintaining the privacy of all personnel matters, we have advised Mr. Bennett that we are willing to waive the confidentiality of this matter and permit Mr. Bennett’s client to comment. As indicated in Mr. Bennett’s statement, his client prefers not to be further involved with this matter and we will respect her decision.

“The Association has robust policies designed to ensure that employees with concerns may bring them forward for prompt investigation and resolution, without risk of retaliation. The Association is fully committed to equal employment opportunity and to an environment that is free from any discrimination or harassment.”

Here's what I am/was thinking:

If this were a trumped up bullshit charge designed to cadge money out of the NRA, we might expect an accuser to file falsely, but then would not re-open the case for the media.

So based on her apparently talking to Politico, I thought at least she really believed there was a strong sexual harassment case here.

But now she says "Nevermind," essentially.

So now I'm thinking her claim was trumped up.
