Drowning in fun, more like it!!!
Whitney Houston's family was told by L.A. County Coroner officials ... the singer did not die from drowning, but rather from what appears to be a combination of Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol ... this according to family sources.We're told Coroner's officials informed the family there was not enough water in Whitney's lungs to lead to the conclusion that she drowned.
This is not much of an observation, but I don't think drugs were the disease. Drugs were the symptom. She was just an effed-up emotionally-wrecked woman who could not manage despite being a millionaire.
She wanted a way out and she found one. No bright-line decision about it like picking up a shotgun and putting it in the mouth. But a bunch of small decisions, flirting with suicide, courting it.

CNN recently suspended Rollin Martin for tweeting a gay joke during the Superbowl, and Jason Whitlock had to apologize for a dumb Chinese joke.
I've gone back and forth on this question. If the left is going to use Alinsky tactics against us, shouldn't we use Alinksy tactics against them?
Shouldn't we force them to live by their own rulebook, and take some satisfaction in these suspensions?
But I think this is ultimately self-defeating, because whatever our intentions -- to undermine Stalist political correctness by making the avatars of it suffer under their own rules -- we end up pushing the rule ourselves. The PC regime ends up co-opting us as we endeavor to co-opt it.
In addition, we can't win at these games. They get minor slaps on the wrist. And further, I'm sure that even those slaps on the wrist come in a meeting in which an executive apologizes for it, saying, "We have to do this, because the right will beat up on us. You understand: We really don't want to."
Meanwhile, we get fired for this crap.
Samuel Jackson said that he voted for Obama because he's black. I'm glad he was candid. There's just too much bullshit in this country, and bullshit is the enemy of conservatism.
This was all cooked up by Marxists in the first place, seeking to undermine liberal capitalism via racial and sexual divisions, since capitalism was performing distressingly well at providing wealth for all classes. We have to remember that.

“This is big,” wrote White House director of new media Macon Phillips in a February 23, 2009 blog post, ”the President today promised that by the end of his first term, he will cut in half the massive federal deficit we’ve inherited. And we’ll do it in a new way: honestly and candidly.”Indeed, President Obama did make that promise that day, saying, “today I’m pledging to cut the deficit we inherited in half by the end of my first term in office. This will not be easy. It will require us to make difficult decisions and face challenges we’ve long neglected. But I refuse to leave our children with a debt that they cannot repay — and that means taking responsibility right now, in this administration, for getting our spending under control.”
The 2013 budget the president submitted today does not come close to meeting this promise of being reduced to $650 billion for fiscal year 2013.
His currently proposed budget claims (that word from Jake Tapper, the correct word) the deficit will fall to $901 billion in 2013.
It won't.
But that's as far as he can torture the numbers.

Glenn Beck, the former Fox News Channel host, drew the ire of a wide spectrum of liberal groups while his program aired nationally. But according to several people who watched the process from the inside, it was Media Matters that orchestrated much of the opposition to Beck.“We called it ‘fingerprint coverage,’” explains one former staffer, “where you know it was the result of your work.” As an example, he cites the left-wing group Color of Change, co-founded by the controversial former White House “green jobs” czar Van Jones, which received much of the credit for pressuring advertisers to drop their sponsorship of Beck’s show. But in fact, he says, Media Matters developed the campaign that cowed Beck’s sponsors.
Media Matters, according to its 2010 tax filing, gave a $200,000 grant to Citizen Engagement Laboratory, Color of Change’s parent group. The purpose of the grant, according to the document, was for a “campaign to expose Glenn Beck’s racist rhetoric in an effort to educate advertisers about the practices on his show.”
High profile though these victories against conservatives were, Media Matters has perhaps achieved more influence simply by putting its talking points into the willing hands of liberal journalists. “In ‘08 it became pretty apparent MSNBC was going left,” says one source. “They were using our research to write their stories. They were eager to use our stuff.” Media Matters staff had the direct line of MSNBC president Phil Griffin, and used it. Griffin took their calls.
Stories about Fox News were especially well received by MSNBC anchors and executives: “If we published something about Fox in the morning, they’d have it on the air that night verbatim.”
But MSNBC executives werenÂ’t the only ones talking regularly to Media Matters.
“The entire progressive blogosphere picked up our stuff,” says a Media Matters source, “from Daily Kos to Salon. Greg Sargent [of the Washington Post] will write anything you give him. He was the go-to guy to leak stuff.”
“If you can’t get it anywhere else, Greg Sargent’s always game,” agreed another source with firsthand knowledge.
Reached by phone, Sargent declined to comment.

Reporters who weren’t cooperative might feel the sting of a Media Matters campaign against them. “If you hit a reporter, say a beat reporter at a regional newspaper,” a Media Matters source said, “all of a sudden they’d get a thousand hostile emails. Sometimes they’d melt down. It had a real effect on reporters who weren’t used to that kind of scrutiny.”

Media Matters also began a weekly strategy call with the White House, which continues, joined by the liberal Center for American Progress think tank. Jen Psaki, ObamaÂ’s deputy communications director, was a frequent participant before she left for the private sector in October 2011.
Enemies List: They have a list of specific organizations -- and specific people -- that Brock's ordered them to develop opposition research against.

— DrewM The Obama administration released its budget today and The One is now giving a speech shortly to sell it.
President Obama is offering his spending blueprint for the next decade -- an election-year document that seeks to achieve $4 trillion in deficit reduction through cuts in government spending, higher taxes and inclusion of last year's debt-ceiling deal for deficit reduction.At the same time, Obama will ask for substantial spending increases on infrastructure and job training, but will offer few reforms to entitlement programs, which take up 40 percent of the annual federal budget.
Republicans, who are vowing to oppose Obama's tax increases, have planned several events Monday to counter the president's release. On Sunday House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan said the president's proposal is full of gimmicks and does little to reduce the deficit or curb the rapid growth of benefit programs like Medicare.
Tax increases? Oh yes, Obama has those.

Bottom line...this is all theater since Obama's budget is Dead on Arrival. Democrats in the Senate don't want to touch it but Mitch McConnell is trying to bring it up for a vote.
"The only budget votes we'll have in the Senate, which refuses to follow the law and pass a budget of its own, would be a House-passed budget and the presidentÂ’s budget, so I intend to offer the presidentÂ’s budget for him so heÂ’ll have a chance to get a vote on it," McConnell said.He did the same thing last year - and the budget was defeated 97-0.
Obama's Chief of Staff is either a liar or an idiot (I'm not ruling out both however). Yesterday he repeatedly claimed the Senate can't pass a budget because it takes 60 votes and the GOP won't allow it. Even the Washington Post "fact checker" can't ignore how wrong that is even though he really wanted to cut Lew a break.
The problem is Lew was most recently the head of the Office of Management and Budget. Surely he knows the rules and just lied to attack Republicans.
As for President "I will cut the deficit in half" in his first term, Jim Geraghty takes a look at the budget and it's not pretty.
YouÂ’ll also recall that in 2007, the deficit wasÂ… $160 billion. You know, about 12 percent of the total deficit ObamaÂ’s budget would create this year.

Bombers targeted staff at Israel's embassies in India and Georgia on Monday, wounding four people, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Iran and its Lebanese ally Hezbollah of involvement.The New Delhi bomb wrecked a vehicle with diplomatic plates and Israel's parliamentary television channel said the wife of Israel's Defence attache and her driver were among four people hurt. The Tbilisi bomb was defused safely by Georgian police.
No need to question the timing of the attacks, it's pretty clear why the attacks were launched when they were.
Israeli security authorities raised the level of alert worldwide following the attacks. Security officials said that it was possible that the attacks were connected to the fourth anniversary of the assassination of Hezbollah military chief Imad Mughniyeh who was killed in Damascus on February 12, 2008.

The SSDI component of Social Security is a perfect snapshot of how the welfare state both bankrupts and demeans our society. The program was meant to provide for people who were physically unable to work, but in practice it is simply another vast government program that can be gamed and cheated to provide a paycheck for no work at all. This is the welfare state in all its bureaucratic, amoral, spendthrift glory: rather than helping a relatively few who really need it, it instead enables millions of the able-bodied to avoid work. (Whatever you subsidize, you get more of. If you subsidize unemployment, you'll get more of it.) Samuelson does a good job of explaining why this program will so hard to reform in any meaningful way, too:
For starters, any crackdown could become a public-relations disaster. It might seem gratuitously cruel. Many recipients command sympathy. With low skills, their jobs prospects are poor. "People are driven into the program by desperation," says Autor. Nor are they rolling in money; the average payment is about $14,000 a year.Any attempt to tie off this spouting artery will bring howls of outrage, and not just from the left. To a large extent the welfare state has transcended the usual ideological boundaries (as it was designed to do right from the start) and made tens of millions of Americans into wards of the state. The end of the welfare state means the end of their monthly checks; it means the end of the "free" money they've been getting. Young or old, rich or poor, sick or healthy: it takes a rare soul to forgo "free" money in the face of some purely theoretical economic emergency. The welfare state will continue until this nation fails because, deep down, Americans don't really want to give it up. Americans still -- mostly -- feel that if we just tweak this knob that way and pull that lever just so, it will all come out okay. It's not so much good old American optimism as it is a deep and inchoate terror: the instinct of many an animal in dire peril is neither to fight nor run, but to crouch trembling where they are and pray that the danger passes them by.
