Funny how this information starts to snowball at odd times.

Why?

Oh, right, because they're almost as white as the Allman Brothers' financial planners.

An Obama campaign photograph of the Chicago headquarters last week had black Democrats buzzing about diversity — or lack of it. The picture, saturated with white faces, was reposted on the news site Buzzfeed and made the rounds of other well-trafficked sites, including The Drudge Report.

Yeah. That picture was whiter than a Mormon unicorn's teeth on Milk Appreciation Day.

A source told Politico:

“I hope the president’s team was listening when he said that if he had a son, he’d look like Trayvon Martin and that they make it a reality, not a priority, to have more senior staff [not just one or two people] around the president who look like Trayvon Martin. Right now, it is nonexistent, and you rarely see more than one African-American, male or female, anywhere around or advising the president unless he is at an African-American gathering of some kind.”

You're not going to believe this -- the Obama people have, get this, excuses for their failures.

An operative says:

In the breakneck pace of a campaign launch, “the [senior staff] who are doing the hiring are moving in a fast-paced environment trying to make multiple decisions at the same time, and they tend to hire people who they know or who come to them from people who they know,” the operative said. “And if you don’t take time out and say, ‘Let me expand the pool’ and bring in new and different people just to look at them, then you end up having an environment that is not as diverse.”

So, Obama's Old Boys seem to only know other Old Boys?

I know that somehow, someway, this is my fault. I just can't figure out how.

But I'm sure the left will inform me.

The Iraq War vet and small business owner won pretty handily in a four way primary. Now it's on to the June special election.

Jesse Kelly won the Republican primary for Arizona's 8th Congressional District Tuesday and will now take on Democrat Ron Barber in a special election to decide who completes former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' term, the Arizona Daily Star reported.

Barber, who served as Giffords' district director and took two bullets in the shooting, has been endorsed by the former congresswoman. He has already raised more than $500,000 for the June special election.

Kelly ran against Giffords in 2010 losing by less than 2%. I profiled Kelly during that race, highlighting his views on "bi-partisanship".

Kelly, an Iraq war veteran who grew up in Montana and has never held elective office, scoffs at the idea of bipartisanship.

"Bipartisanship in Washington means Republicans selling out their conservative principles in order to appear nice on MSNBC," he told a town-hall meeting at the Oro Valley Country Club.

It's going to be a tough race given the emotions around the Gifford's shooting and his opponent already has a head-start, so if you have any money left after tax day, you might want to consider supporting Kelly.

45% each. Full poll results should be out this evening, but the first poll out of the state of Pennsylvania since the general election began...shows what I have been screaming for months, but on doctor's orders have begun to just repeatedly mumble over and over and over again. It really, really, really is up for grabs. This year, we break Lucy's kneecaps, then kick the football.

Conducted between April 16 and 17 by the firm McLaughlin and Associates, the poll surveyed 400 likely Republican primary voters and found Mourdock in the lead, 42–41, against Lugar. The poll had a 4.9 percent margin of error.

The National Review's editors endorsed Mourdock last week.

[T]he low-key Mourdock’s mantra has been “capable, competent, and conservative,” a line he used last week after a fine performance in his sole debate with Lugar, and one that could describe our impression of the man after he met with National Review editors recently. Mourdock is popular in Indiana, having won reelection as state treasurer with 63 percent of the vote, and has impressed the grassroots, securing endorsements from a number of Tea Party groups and delivering a strong speech at CPAC. Like so many who have seen the light, Mourdock became a conservative in the age of Reagan; he is a successful oil geologist whose growing interest in thinkers such as Milton Friedman led him to run for Congress and eventually win county and statewide office. As treasurer, Mourdock has shown himself to be both fiscally prudent and possessed of a certain fighting spirit, most prominently when he (unsuccessfully) sued to recover $6 million the state’s pension funds had lost when the Obama administration’s auto bailouts arbitrarily rewrote a century of bankruptcy law.

@diworsity on Twitter reminded me about why the left is pushing the Seamus on the Room (but Not on Saffron Rice) story: When Democrats push this story out to people in focus groups, they react hostilely to it, and Romney's favorables go down.

So this is not completely just Happy Fun Time.
