Shutdown theater is Obama's penchant for making shutdowns worse than they need to be.

For example, the Capitol Park Police doing more work than needed to erect barriers to entry to the WWII memorial in the Mall. No one "works" here; there are no Park Rangers. It's a friggin' monument. And it is policed by the Capitol Park Police, who are, of course, still on the job.

Nevertheless, Obama is doing Shutdown Theater so he had his Imperial Troops erect barriers to keep people from seeing it.

Some visiting veterans rejected the Shutdown Theater.

Since the stupid Republicans decided to shutdown the government, the American people won't notice that the Obamacare exchanges don't work. It's not like 30-50 million people are going to try to sign up using healthcare.gov and notice the website doesn't work.

I know, I know, some of you will say, "But Ben, the tens of millions of people will attempt to sign up only to find that the healthcare.gov website doesn't work and they will become frustrated and angry at President Obama." First, address me as Mr.Ben a$$holes and don't look me in the eye when you speak to me. Second, no they won't. How could they possibly know if the MSM doesn't tell them? Do you think people draw conclusions from their own personal experiences?

John Q. Jagoff out in Wyoming won't know that the cheapest plan he can get under Obamacare is $425* a month unless Paul Krugman of the New York Times tells him. Heck, I received a letter from my insurance company this week telling me they're closing my plan at the end of 2014, but I completely forgot because REPUBLIKKKAN SHUTDOWN!!!1!1! Sure, according to this chart it looks like I'm going to have to pay 100% more per month for a health insurance plan with less coverage than the one I already have, but what does that matter because SHUTDOWN! Do you fools honestly think that Americans will be more angry about the increased costs for their insurance, their inability to sign up for new insurance on healthcare.gov, losing their current individual insurance, losing their employer provided insurance, or having their hours cut back to part time than they are about SHUTDOWN!!!!1!1!?

The media was just DYING to cover the failure of Obamacare before this shutdown happened. The failure of Obamacare was going to be the event that launched 10,000 in depth stories of failure. Now it's going to be all shutdown all the time for the MSM. It's amazing to me you idiots would support a shutdown of our beloved federal government. This is unprecedented.**

Conservatives spent the past month claiming they didn't want a government shutdown, although you wouldn't know it to see their antics last night. Of course, these are the same folks who insist Obama should be blamed for the shutdown. They sure make it easy for the GOP to get blamed.

GOP congressfolk are bracing for shutdown fallout. Speaker Boehner has privately warned members that the House majority could be in peril.

Ironically, the Obamacare exchanges are launching despite the shutdown (just as Sen. Coburn said they would). What's more, if the government shutdown wasn't taking up all the space, the front page of every major daily in the country would have had an above-the-fold story on how the Obamacare exchanges aren't actually working as planned because of software and other tech problems.

So the score is: conservatives didn't manage to stop Obamacare. Conservatives are oddly celebrating a shutdown they claimed they did not want. The GOP is getting blamed. Oh, and how are voters looking at this? A new Quinnipiac poll out this morning finds voters opposed 72%–22% to Congress shutting down the fed govt to block implementation of Obamacare.

Brilliant work. And, of course, we still have the eventual GOP surrender to look forward to, wherein the ultimate pointlessness of this strategy is revealed for all to see.
