— Ace I think GOP senators must have the Beta of this app.
Anyway, I could summarize the summary, but then, you could just click that link. It's easier for both of us if you do that. Note: The link goes to ViralRead, a conservative news site, but it does contain highly-stylized Hello Kitty cutesy-cartoon representations of a vagina.
Anthropomorphization of poon, if you will. I think it's pretty safe because it's not immediately obvious what they cutesy cartoon creature is supposed to be, and also, the point of the article is news/commentary, not porn or anything. Though, as usual, sexual language is in play (the app is designed to teach women that snicking their snootch feelz good, because apparently that's a Big Secret That Society Is Hiding From You.)
It's my belief it's Safe For Work, but that's just my belief, and I don't know your boss.
The only thing shocking about this story is that, apparently, US taxpayers are not, I repeat not, paying for it. Man bites dog! What a mitzvah!

Hallelujah! And they said it couldn't happen!

There's a ridiculous cultural-left woman-infantilizing boondoggle going on somewhere and we're not paying for it!!!!

That said, I bet you in two weeks we find there's some sort of NEA grant flowing into this dope's pocket pool.

— Ace The New York Post reports on this incredible bit of evidence.
The prosecution has a recording of the killer telling his victim he was about to kill her, thanks to the butt-dial.
Apparently the rage broke out when the killer saw his girlfriend had dialed a 508 area code number -- I guess he suspected she was unfaithful.
This is the recording made just before the murder:
“Why did you call 508, why did you call that number?” Jason Bohn asked Danielle Thomas just before the June 2012 slay in his Astoria apartment.Thomas said, “I don’t know” and “Jason, I love you” a dozen times, according to a transcript obtained by The Post.
Bohn replies “You have five seconds and then…and then I’m going to kill you.”
The accused killer then gives his victim instructions, telling her “I’m going to let you up and then you need to answer quickly or else you die…Danielle, why did you call that number?…Danielle you are so stupid. You think I’m going to stop, I won’t stop.”
I'm trying to imagine what the defense would be. I guess he can't contest that he killed her. He'll try some temporary insanity thing, or extreme emotional state thing.

— Ace Damn you, Devil Sun, and your satanic rays.
Think Progress has the story and the big scoop. (Update: The story is from last August. True, but old.)
WOW. ItÂ’s so hot in Oklahoma that the streetlights are melting. Â…
Meanwhile, a senator from Oklahoma, James Inhofe (R), is a major climate denier.
Progressives are all tweetin' angry at James Inhofe, who obviously Hates Streetlamps. Why don't you try illuminating the street with your Bible, Lite-H8r!
There is one small update to this major, major scoop:
AOh, wait! More information is coming in about that melting street light! It turns out it melted because it was right next to a dumpster fire:
Well that's just nitpicking, isn't it?
Or, as GOB Bluth would say, "Yes, but how did the fire start?"
Or, finally, as the Zimmerman Prosecution's star witness would say: "That is real retarded, Sir."
By the way, FYI, and apropos of nothing, Think Progress is a part of the Center for American Progress' leftist fundraising empire. Specifically its "Center for American Progress Action Fund" organization. Which you can donate to. Because the Center for American
Progress Action Fund is...
... a non-partisan, 501 (c)(4) organization dedicated to achieving progress through action.
Per its website.
thanks to alexthechick.
Urk: The story is true, and Yahoo, naturally, fell for it.
The story is also from last year. Alas, it's old.
Well, it was New To Me (TM).
It's Not Merely Old... But it has, embarrassingly enough, already appeared on the site, when it was far more timely (that is to say, when Andy covered it day-of).
Eesh.
Look, I'm willing to accept blame when it's called for. In this case, though, it's alexthechick's fault.
This was all due to low-level rogue commenters operating out of Cincinnati.
I had noting to do with this. I learned of this from the newspapers, when you did.
Please believe me. This is all I got. I can't dance.

— Ace This is a prosecution witness?
(Whoops, I knew I saw this story from somewhere; turns out I got it from @drewmtips' open thread from just 90 minutes ago. Ah well, it's important.)
Here's what eyewitness John Good said: The man in the hoodie, who he identified as Trayvon when shown a picture, was on top of the other man (Zimmerman). Further, the man on top was doing a "ground and pound" on the man on the bottom. When asked if he would describe Trayvon has having "rained blows" down onto Zimmerman, he agreed.
Furthermore, rebutting a key prosecution claim, he says that all the screams for help were coming from the man on the bottom. The prosecution has called a witness to claim the screams sounded like a "boy's" voice. Yeah, a man crying out desperately for his life will tend to sound a little callow and maybe a little feminine.
The prosecution earlier sought to bring in experts to say that George Zimmerman's speaking voice is inconsistent with the screams heard in 9/11 call recordings. The judge refused because the weight of scientific evidence is that such a determination can't be made -- people sound different when they're screaming in terror, and there is no scientific basis for saying that this scream couldn't have come from this man.
So this is a key prosecution suggestion, that it was Trayvon screaming for help as he rained blows down on Zimmerman's head (what?), and their own witness says it's false.
This would be a farce if it weren't so vicious and actually criminal.

— Ace Tensions between the Muslim Brotherhood and its many opponents are turning into actual violence.
A Muslim Brotherhood member was killed and 60 people were injured on Sunday in an attack on the main office of the Brotherhood in the Egyptian Nile Delta town of Damanhour, the website of the Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party said.“Brotherhood member, Islam Fathy Masoud, 15, was killed and 60 were injured after thugs attacked the Muslim Brotherhood’s headquarters in Damanhour in the total absence of police forces,” the website said.
Judges are revolting against Musilm Brotherhood rule in their own way, with words, accusing the regime of asserting unrestricted executive power and thus diminishing the powers of the judges (which are supposed to serve as a check on the executive).
The country awaits big protests this weekend.
For the past several days, MorsiÂ’s opponents and members of his Muslim Brotherhood have battled it out in the streets of several cities in the Nile Delta in violence that has left at least five dead. The latest died Friday from injuries suffered in fighting the day before, security officials said. Many fear the clashes are a sign of more widespread and bloodier battles to come on Sunday, the anniversary of MorsiÂ’s inauguration, when the opposition says it will bring millions into the streets around the country.
The protesters insist there should be new elections. The army's position in this so far is deliberately vague:
That has set up a showdown in the streets in the coming days. Mursi's Islamist supporters and some opposition groups plan rallies on Friday, and the broad opposition coalition hopes to bring millions out on Sunday to demand new elections. The army has urged both sides to reconcile and has warned that it could step back in to impose order if violence spins out of control – though it insists it will defend the democracy born out of the uprising against Mubarak in early 2011.
I note the Army does not say it will defend Morsi -- it says it will defend democracy. I don't know if they've decided Morsi = democracy.
Egypt appears to be on the brink of chaos this week but the best advice America’s ambassador has for an embattled religious minority in the world’s most populous country is to stay home. The report about the visit of Ambassador Anne Patterson to Coptic Pope Tawadros II came from an Egyptian paper but is spreading rapidly around the Internet and being cited as an example of the tacit support the United States continues to show for the government of President Mohamad Morsi even as the country starts to fall apart But with a mass protest scheduled for Sunday — the event Ambassador Patterson wanted Copts to stay away from — the president’s attitude toward the demonstrations that are shaking Morsi’s grip on power is more than a matter of curiosity. This is, after all, an administration that did a lot to encourage the first round of Arab spring protests in Egypt that took down longtime U.S. ally Hosni Mubarak and ultimately replaced him with a Muslim Brotherhood government that may be far worse than deposed authoritarian.
And that support may be more than tacit.
A senior Obama administration official confirmed to Fox News that members of the National Security Council staff met with a controversial Muslim scholar, but stressed that they were focused on his recent efforts to counter the Al Qaeda narrative. The official was responding to a report on Wednesday from The Investigative Project on Terrorism, which uncovered a statement on the website of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Bayyah claiming he met June 13 with Obama administration officials at the White House.
Bin Bayyah is vice president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, a group founded by Egyptian cleric Yusuf Qaradawi -- a Muslim Brotherhood leader who has called for the death of Jews and Americans and himself is banned from visiting the U.S.
Bin Bayyah, for his part, has urged the U.N. to criminalize blasphemy. His group has spoken out in favor of Hamas and in 2009 issued a fatwa barring "all forms of normalization" with Israel.
He also has said that terrorism cannot be justified by the text of the Koran, but we've heard people say that before, and not seem to mean it terribly much. The leader of the organization has also...
....urged Muslim nations to acquire nuclear weapons, demanded the death of American soldiers in Iraq, and defended Hitler.
Anti-Morsi protesters are displaying Obama's image, and not in a Hopey-Changey way, either.

Those must be the Extremist Tea Party Types at Tahir Square.
The latest news on the protests, via Twitter (unreliable) and Russia Today (Soviet agitprop remnant which is also unreliable), is that 70 have been injured in the Alexandria protests, and that Muslim Brother headquarters in three cities have been set on fire.
Here's a picture of (I think) one headquarters "on fire," thought it appears, at least at this point, the office isn't on fire. There is a large bonfire outside it and near it, but I don't know if that grim concrete fasçade is going to catch fire anytime soon. But it does seem like a threatening protest.

That link doesn't say anything much more than the headline. I imagine she'll repeatedly invoke the 5th to each question but at least we'll have that spectacle.

— DrewM Interesting morning at the Zimmerman trial. The prosecution team called a witness to the fight and um, he pretty much laid out the entire defense case.
So, a witness says....Martin was on top, straddling and pounding on Zimmerman when Zimmerman shot him? There's no way murder sticks.
What a travesty this murder charge is.

..."Martin was running for his life and made a phone call"...WHAT?? a phone call to this girl? Not the cops? Not his father? this strange, ineffective human being was Martin's savior? He might as well have called for pizza. He didn't [c]are about Zimmerman...he laughed at him...at wanted his girl hear him deal with the "creepy assed cracker"...Pretty good point. Even a call to Dominos for a pizza would have been a more effective defensive move. It would have gotten another person on site.
Unofficial trial comments thread until
something better happens along.
