What an idiot.
What is about online communication that compels a fiftysomething man to try to sound like a fifteensomething girl?
Unrelated: You know who's bringing it?
The amateur online webzine Slate is bringing it, that's who.
They're now refusing to call the Washington Redskins the Redskins. Just because. I suppose their split from the Washington Post has something to do with this.
Now they are free to fly their inner freak flag. They don't have all that "Job Security" baggage weighing them down anymore.
Padding out a Dumb Post: Is this funny?
Pretty funny, actually.
They're bringing it.

— Ace Oh well.
Kate Upton won't be forced to hide her religious values.
The stunning supermodel got a tattoo of a cross on her finger so she could always show her devotion to God, she explained in the September issue of Elle.
"I was at a photo shoot and I was wearing a cross necklace that my mom bought me, and somebody made a joke like, 'Why are you wearing a cross? Like you would be religious.' And then they took [my necklace] away,” Upton told the magazine. “I was really affected by that. The whole thing made me realize that I do want [a cross] with me, at all times."
She also says she's more intelligent than people give her credit for. Again: Oh well. Can't be perfect.
Now I'm going to link her Happy Easter video. The ostensible reason for my linking this is to expose her hypocrisy on religious values.
But that's not the real reason. That's just what we call an excuse. more...

— Ace Good move.
I like Sean Hannity well enough but Megyn Kelly has something he doesn't. She's very smart and she has the mind of a prosecutor, which is similar enough to that of a reporter. (Better, I'd say.)
I've long thought that FoxNews should move away from its comfort zone of conservative-friendly talk and make more of a straight play at a broader swath of the news consuming audience. I think Megyn could manage that sort of a thing.

— Ace Marc Ambinder asks a libertarian-flavored question -- why should we trust the government's say-so that Snowden leaked crucial secret information when the government is leaking about Sources and Methods during a lockdown for an anticipated terrorist attack?
Reporters at McClatchky and Eli Lake have reported all about the intelligence that led to the current embassy lockdown.
The intercept provided the U.S. intelligence community with a rare glimpse into how al QaedaÂ’s leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri, manages a global organization that includes affiliates in Africa, the Middle East, and southwest and southeast Asia.Several news outlets reported Monday on an intercepted communication last week between Zawahiri and Nasser al-Wuhayshi, the leader of al QaedaÂ’s affiliate based in Yemen. But The Daily Beast has learned that the discussion between the two al Qaeda leaders happened in a conference call that included the leaders or representatives of the top leadership of al Qaeda and its affiliates calling in from different locations, according to three U.S. officials familiar with the intelligence. All told, said one U.S. intelligence official, more than 20 al Qaeda operatives were on the call.
Gee that really seems like the sort of thing we'd not want Zawahiri to know. But here are people on Team Obama blabbing it out all over the world yet again.
They have a real pattern with this. They leaked a lot of important details with regard to Seal Team Six, too. Basically, any time our intelligence or military boys are doing something Manful and Cool, the Obama folks want to talk it up to bask in the glow of other people's achievements.
But when you ask them about Benghazi, State Secrets Serious You Guys.
Also, when you ask about Fast and Furious and the IRS. Serious You Guys Can't Comment on an Ongoing Investigation.
But they have no problem spilling actual national security secrets.

— Pixy Misa The AP took it upon themselves to cover for the dear leader.
What Obama said:
THE PRESIDENT: I don't know. As you know, for the last three years, I’ve said, let’s work together. Let’s find a financing mechanism and let’s go ahead and fix our bridges, fix our roads, sewer systems, our ports. The Panama is being widened so that these big supertankers can come in. Now, that will be finished in 2015. If we don't deepen our ports all along the Gulf — places like Charleston, South Carolina, or Savannah, Georgia, or Jacksonville, Florida — if we don't do that, those ships are going to go someplace else. And we’ll lose jobs. Businesses won’t locate here.
What AP reported:
"If we don't deepen our ports all along the Gulf — (and in) places like Charleston, S.C., or Savannah, Ga., or Jacksonville, Fla. — if we don't do that, these ships are going to go someplace else and we'll lose jobs," Obama said.
Does anyone think the AP would have afforded the Republicans the same courtesy?

— Pixy Misa Well, 'Rons & 'Ettes, it looks like you drew the short straw again tonight, due to a bit of scheduling confusion. But, again, try not to get too bent out of shape about it. Your regular correspondent will be assuming his role in very short order. 'Til then, you have the pale substitute that is the Damn Dirty RINO to bridge the gap.
Last night found me in a bit of an introspective mood the had me waxing philosophical on the under-appreciated merits of failure. Tonight, however, finds me in a different frame of mind -- one with a yen to ponder the way in which we relate to our fellow human beings, be they friends, colleagues, lovers, wives, or sworn enemies. Sure, it would be nice if life only presented us with puppies, butterflies and dear old friends with which to contend on a daily basis. But, the bare fact of the matter is that we have to share this big blue ball with all manner of unsavory creatures like spiders and snakes and sharks and dingos.

— Ace See the update.
The Democrat Party admits it. But try getting the media to share this level of candor.
Busby responded to tell me that party leaders looked at FilnerÂ’s 30-year record of advocating for progressive causes when evaluating him as a candidate for mayor.
So what's a little War on Women between ideological friends? They say these allegations did not "rise above a rumor," which is false-- the deputy mayor of Escondido stated on the record (and went to former head of the party Jess Durfee) that Filner had rudely propositioned her at a professional political event.
This, in turn, lends credence to the other "rumors," which, at this time, consisted of eight different women accusing him, albeit anonymously.
And how deep was their investigation into these charges?
Well, very deep. They busted out the old Dragnet. By which I mean they asked Filner himself about them:
Former Democratic Party Chairman Jess Durfee confirmed to U-T San Diego that Saldaña complained to him about Filner’s conduct. “He assured me there was nothing to be concerned about,” Durfee told the U-T.
Oh well there you go. Carry on then.
Thanks to @starchambermaid.
Donzo: I'm done with the Filner story. I did what I could. No one's interested.
Fine.
