— Ace I think the headline says it all.
From China, of course, the emerging superpower of weird news.

Obviously there must be a prostitution of the game at some point (exploiting a bug). Correction: Not so obvious. Mario runs through several walls, but not having been a big player, I don't know if that's a bug or a secret passage designed to be exploited.
Still, for those of you who played it, it might be fun to watch the game trashed in five minutes.
Via A Picture of Me, wh o has fairly-rare clips of Sascha Baron Cohen out-of-character and not doing schtick.
Controversy! A lot of bitter accusations that this is either the game in cheat mode or else a concocted flash animation simulating the game.

— Ace That's th e title of the piece. Not one of my hack-jobs.
David Horowitz, who has no problem calling an anti-semite an anti-semite:
Even as Islamic Hitlerites gather in Iran to deny the first Holocaust of the Jews and to plot the second, former president Jimmy Carter tours America with a new book that describes Jews as racists and oppressors, and suggests they are also a conspiratorial mafia that intimidates “critics,” controls America’s media and war policy, and are therefore also the source of Islamic terrorism and the Arabs’ genocidal campaign to eliminate them from the map of the Middle East.In other words, Americans beware of the Jew in your midst.
Here is CarterÂ’s description of the Middle East conflict in his own words, delivered during an interview he gave on National Public Radio during the second day of the Holocaust deniersÂ’ conference in Teheran:
“I have spent a lot of time in Palestine in recent years. … The Palestinians have had their own land, first of all, occupied and then confiscated and then colonized. They’ve been excluded from their own gardens and fields, and pastures and churches. They have been severely restrained in their movements. They have to have different kinds of passes to go through different checkpoints inside their own lands on their own roads. The Israelis have built more than 200 settlements inside Palestine. They connect these settlements with very nice roads for the Israeli settlers, and then superhighways and so forth going into Jerusalem. Quite often the Palestinians are prevented from even riding on those roads that have been built in their own territory. So this has been in many ways worse than it was in South Africa.”When hundreds of millions of Muslims are calling for the extermination of the Jews of Israel this is more than a lie; it is a blood libel.
It is a lie that Palestinians “had their own land, first of all, occupied.” This is like saying that Texans had their own land occupied by Hispanics, ignoring the fact that Hispanics were there first. The very word Palestine is a Roman appellation for the people called Philistines, who were not Arabs but red-haired sailors from the Aegean. The Jews were there as well.
In short, first of all the Jews were in the land before the Arabs.
As many people have pointed out, Jews by and large fled most other places in the Middle East to resettle in Israel. So isn't this a simple case of migrating populations? Jews left Arab lands, where they were discriminated against and unwanted, to settle somewhere else. Less Jews in Arab lands overall, more Jews in Israel.
So what's the problem?
The entire project to create a historic "Palestinian people" is designed to give a reason why these idiots can't just settle somewhere else. Without the myth of the "Palestinian People," one can just say, "Look, in the interest of global harmony, why don't you just leave this piece of dust you're living on for this equally crappy piece of dust? What's it matter to you? You're going to be living under a despotic, terrorist Arab regime either way. Hell, we'll even give you some money to make your new home on this new piece of dust more livable, until, at least, you spend it all on bombs."
With the myth of an eternal, separate, indiginous Palestinian People, leftists, Arabs, and anti-Semites (but I repeat myself) can claim, "Oh, no, it's incredibly important that the Palestinians live in this particular bowl of dust and not that almost precisely fungible bowl of dust thirty miles to the east."
And look, it's true: All the improvements to the land over the past fifty years have come from Israelis. So if some of this dust looks a little nicer, that's due to Israeli industry, not to Arab complacence.

— Ace Is there no end to to the fascist Bush Administration's assault on our most cherished civlil liberties?
The cloud is black. I would have figured it would have been brighter, because it's, you know, warm air.
But a black cloud is pretty spot-on.
Thanks to 3rdBird.

It'll get through, of course.

— Ace Well, they didn't say it was for the purpose of balanced coverage.
I think it's more a case of "let's cut out the middleman." Why bother with British rewrites of Al Qaeda propaganda when you can get it first from closer to the source?

Did Joy Behar get hit with the Stroke Gun, like, thirty years ago?

— Ace Invited by CNN's Eason Jordan, no less. CNN has also not been able to find AP's Super Secret Source, even though he's named, has an office, and is the captain of police in a jurisdiction.
Jordan's paying for Curt from Flopping Aces to go, too.
It's beginning to look rather bad for Kathleen Carroll, no? Guess it's time to promote her.

— Ace NYT link, so don't bother clicking, but trust me, it's true.
And of course Jim Jeffords jumped parties in 2002, giving the nation a Democratically controlled (well, halfsies) Senate that it had not in fact voted for.
The media, of course, was ecstatic.
But we'll be told that the very-Republican state of South Dakota has been voting the party, not the man, all these years, and so a Democrat must be appointed in Johnson's place (to honor him, even though that actually honors his party, not him), or that the South Dakota must not possibly put forward a replacement Republican because that would change the balance of power in the Senate against the wishes of the voters.
Uh-huh.
Thanks to Andy the Squirrel.
All of this is a little premature, I guess, but I suppose it's best to be ready for the screaming.
