Bush Lied, Love Died: Bush Caused Lance Armstrong-Sheryl Crowe Breakup
— Ace

He was a fan of the President's; she, not so much.

"Sheryl said Lance didn't just support Bush, - he'd go off and fight if the president asked him too.

Lance Armstrong would take the bodies of ten barely-living terrorists, connect them up with rivets and razor-wire, and use them as a makeshift bicycle to win the Tour de France, while at the same time tae-kwon-do-ing the cancer out of his body.

Meanwhile, Sheryl Crowe is still telling people how she got the inspiration for All I Wanna Do.

Hamas: No Better Blood To Drink Than Jewish Blood

At last, the progress we were promised. At least they're admitting the Jews have some good qualities.

Andrew Sullivan Questions The Timing
— Ace

An emailer claims the Dick Cheney shooting was actually good news for the administration, as it "distracted" from the Katrina hearings, the Abu Ghraib photos, etc. He offers the typical caveat about not suggesting this was done intentionally, but of course that's what the I-question-the-timing brigade always are suggesting.

To which St. Andrew of the Sacred Heart-Ache adds: "My only quibble is that the pretty good economic news was drowned out."

Allah says his Kosification is complete. When he left Kos, he was but a student. Now he is a master.

But only a master of beagles.

Oh, No: Cheney Had "One Beer" "Hours Before" Shooting
— Ace

Laurence O'Donnell speculated Cheney might have pulled a Chappequiddick in waiting to speak to the cops until the morning after the shooting.

It doesn't look good that he's admitting to having "one beer hours before" the accident.

Anyone who's ever been pulled over on suspicion of DWI knows that "one beer, hours ago" is the first thing you say.

China Publishes First Report On Homosexuality
— Ace

Conclusion? "Homosexuals' natural drives are diverted into same-sex attraction and away from the normal drives of procreation, marriage, and White Crane style kung-fu."

Not that interesting, really, except...

China's communist government last week published a report on homosexuality, which it calls "MSM," for men having sex with men.

Maybe it's just me, but his kung fu looks... weak.

Abu Ghraib Pics Vs. Mohammad Cartoons
— Ace

Both are (barely) newsworthy, both incite Muslims. The media gleefully publishes the former while embargoing the latter.

Wonder why? Stop the ACLU does.

There are some political structures that need to be challenged and undermined, and the US Government is at the top of that list.

Meanwhile, there are other political structures that don't need to be challenged or undermined, as they are actually helping to challenge and undermine the US Government.

It's not a question of offending Muslims or causing violence. The new Abu Ghraib pictures are at about the same level of offensiveness. It's just a question of, "Does this hurt the US? If so, run it, consequences be damned."

Dream City of the Kurds
— Ace

Michael Totten reports on some rather nice reconstruction in Kurdistan.

Remind you of anywhere?

We've been saying for years that Iraq would not be Darien, Connecticut in just a few years. Well, of course it won't be, but parts of it might bear a nice resemblance.

Oh, Dear Lord
— Ace

So, a new ad about HIV depicts the virus in humanoid form.

People are outraged. Which people?

060215hivad.jpg

a) AIDS victims, because it trivializes the disease

b) the religious right, because it suggests that condoms can stop HIV

c) the gay left, because it suggests that AIDS is a gay disease

d) the black racial grievance lobby, because the virus "looks black"
