— Ace Allah had this at Hot Air a couple of days ago:
“[W]e would carry Islam as an intellectual call to all the world,” says Abu Mohammed, a pseudonym. “And we will make people bordering the Caliphate believe in Islam. Or if they refuse then we’ll ask them to be ruled by Islam.”And after that? Abu Mohammed pauses and fiddles with his Pepsi before replying.
“And if after all discussions and negotiations they still refuse, then the last resort will be a jihad to spread the spirit of Islam and the rule of Islam,” he says, smiling. “This is done in the interests of all people to get them out of darkness and into light.”

— Ace Apparently the Koran dictates that enemies be offered the opportunity to convert to Islam. If they refuse, they can then be righteously slaughtered.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Thursday that his letter to President George W. Bush did not concern the nuclear dossier, but rather was an invitation to Islam and the prophets culture. He made the above remarks in reply to a reporter while attending press conference on his letter to President Bush in Jakarta in the afternoon of the third day of his stay in Jakarta.
Stressing that the letter was beyond the nuclear issue, the chief executive said that in principle, the country's nuclear case is not so significant to make him write a letter about it.
"We act according to laws and our activities are quite clear. We are rather intent on solving more fundamental global matters.
"The letter was an invitation to monotheism and justice, which are common to all divine prophets. If the call is responded positively, there will be no more problems to be solved," added the president.
The president said that the letter actually contained a clear message of invitation to human beliefs, adding that its response will determine the future.
Thanks to Little Green Footballs.
Johnny Coldcuts responds to Mahmoud's convert-or-perish letter after the jump.

— Ace Remember last time, with the exposer/"self-pleasurer"? And the European sophisticates who ran over to Karol's site to say things like "You stupid Americans, so uptight and Puritanical about a little pud-tug on the metros..." ?
That was so much fun I hope we get some more of that.
A 23-year-old with a foot fetish has admitted he tried to kiss, fondle and lick the legs and toes of more than 70 women on the New York subway over the last three years, prosecutors said on Wednesday. In a handwritten confession to police released by the Manhattan district attorney's office, Joseph Weir said his aim was "to make them laugh and smile and open to talk to me."
Hmmm... how do I make a girl talk to me? Catch her eye, maybe offer her a small smile.
Or, perhaps, grab her leg and start forcibly sucking on her toes.
Two good plans. How to choose between them?
Weir, who was arrested late last week after attacking a woman on a subway in lower Manhattan, is charged with forcible touching, sex abuse and unlawful imprisonment -- the latter charge referring to his habit of grabbing his victims' legs and not letting go.He faces up to a year in jail if convicted and has been released on $6,000 bail until a court hearing on June 26.
In a rambling confession peppered with grammatical errors, Weir, who lives in Brooklyn, detailed how he accosted the women while riding the subways between Manhattan and the borough of Queens.
"I get on my knees, bow, grab their feet, kiss them. I grab their hand and tell them 'You're so beautiful. I'm not worthy,"' he wrote. "I do not give me real name. If they ask I will tell them my name is Anthony, Jason or Careem."
Weir said his motivation was to get to know the women, but he recalled that often they would move away when he tried to "taste and touch them."
"Some women had kick(ed) me and screamed," he wrote. "I've done this to about 70 women, mostly black."
I want to write something sarcastic here, but it seems superfluous. The guy seems genuinely perplexed that women kicked and screamed when he tried to "taste and touch them."
Without a doubt, he needs to be locked up. But, in his defense, it's boring on the subway if you've forgotten to bring a newspaper or book. Gotta kill time somehow.

— Ace He says that Hezbollah has the right to weaponry as a "deterrent." And the guy he's meeting with, Nesrallah, has said that Iran has the right to export nuclear technology to those who need it.
Oh, and, of course, the US is a terrorist state.
But don't question his patriotism.

— Ace I am indebted to The Warden.
Stephen Colbert1. Cambridge United States

4. San Francisco United States
5. Austin United States
6. Seattle United States
7. Portland United States
8. Philadelphia United States
9. Chicago United States
10. Washington United States
Cambridge leads the list for Steven Colbert? I am dumbfounded.
Bush Hitler1. Seattle United States
2. Portland United States
3. Denver United States
4. Chicago United States
5. Los Angeles United States
6. Minneapolis United States
7. San Francisco United States
8. Philadelphia United States
9. San Diego United States
10. Phoenix United States
No Cambridge this time. Perhaps they assume "Bush Hitler" is a redundancy.
David Hasselhoff1. Norway
2. Ireland
3. Sweden
4. Australia
5. South Africa
6. Finland
7. Austria
8. New Zealand
9. United Kingdom
10. Hungary
Again, it is shocking that Germany does not lead this list. However, I little detective-work reveals that in Germany, David Hasselhoff is usually known by his other name, "The Almighty God Himself."
The Philippines tops the list for searches for "Chris Klein." But what about searches for "Paul Anka"?
1. Philippines
2. Chile
3. Canada
...10. United States
What is up with the Philippines?

Kind of fun. I never knew about this feature. Turns out Latin/South America are the biggest on anal as well as on oral, and the Anglosphere (UK, Ireland, US, Australia, New Zealand, India) are the biggest on big tits.
Poland seems to show up, towards the bottom, on a lot of these lists. So I guess they're just indiscriminately horny.
I am scratching my head at Germany's failure to top most of these lists.
Also interesting: Checking for cities, Chicago seems to keep beating out New York.
Thanks to JohnS.
Figured Out Where Those Dirty, Filthy Huns Are Lurking: Kept trying "teen" and "teenager" and then struck on "babysitter", where Germany and Austria dominate the charts.
I do not think the popularity of the term is due to parents searching for quality temporary child-care services.
Japan... I'd like to search for what the Japanese are up to, but I don't know the Japanese words for "12-year-old in short skirt and white panties gets sexually assaulted by a barbed tentacle-cock of Cthulhu."

— Ace That damned Hollywood racism at work again:
New Line has agreed to pay Chris Tucker $25 million to appear in Rush Hour 3, making him the highest-paid actor in Hollywood, according to FoxNews.com's Roger Friedman. Friedman commented that the figure is all the more remarkable considering the fact that Tucker has starred in only two other films -- both of them the Rush Hour movies.
Christ Tucker. Rush Hour 3. $25 million.
I'll just let that sink in for a minute before I rush to the sink to slash my wrists.
I don't even remember the other two Rush Hours. They were, if I remember, inoffensive, forgettable, uninspired, and not awful. That was the best thing about them -- they were not awful. Nowhere near good, but also not horrible.
$25 million to make another sequel, to have some more of that Jackie Chan-Chris Tucker magic. One guy with a high-pitched cartoon voice you can't understand, and another guy who barely speaks English at all.
Related: The Catholic Street erupts at The Da Vinci Code.
We can expect beheadings and embassy-burnings any moment now, and of course the refusal of the mainstream media to display any stills or footage from the movie, as their new priority of showing respect for religion dictates.

— Ace Okay:
The problem of women being shut out of opinion media, even progressive opinion media, is related to the one you describe of women not voting. Anna Greenberg has done research into this and discovered that a major reason these women donÂ’t vote is they feel like theyÂ’re not well-informed and therefore arenÂ’t qualified to vote. One reason they probably donÂ’t feel well-informed is that they donÂ’t keep up with political media as much as men, and IÂ’d wager that one reason they donÂ’t do that is when they turn to it they donÂ’t see anyone who looks like they do or is talking about their concerns in a way they can relate to.
I presume this means that men shouldn't bother with female commentators, as women don't "look like they do or [talk] about their concerns in a way they can relate to."
"Even progressive opinion media." No, change that to "especially progressive opinion media."
With all due respect, there aren't as many female (or minority) commentators, especially on the left, because they tend to spend most of their time in an ideological ghetto. Many women write about "women's issues" and many ethnic minorities write almost exlcusively about "minority issues" -- again, especially on the left, where such identity-politics are celebrated. They are limiting their audience by limiting the subject matters upon which they opine.
This is much less of a pheomenon on the right, where identity politics are dismissed as childish, and thus women and minority opinion writers tend to write on whatever topics are most pressing -- sort of just like white male opinion writers do. A black conservative opinion writer may write more on racial issues than a white one, and a female opinion writer may write more about cultural and sexual issues than a male one, but they're all also writing on economics and Iran and everything else.
Among the very top of the conservative pundicracy are minority, female, and gay writers like Thomas Sowell, Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, and Mark Steyn (who is a notorious homosexual, or at least he's British or Canadian or something, which is pretty much the same thing).
Meanwhile, Maureen Dowd is writing about who whacked whom on last week's Sopranos and who's sleeping with whom on The L Word.
Women on the left tend to be disciples of "critical feminist scholarship," and minorities on the left disciples of "critical racial scholarship," so even when they write on broader issues, their writings are infected with clit-crit or snit-crit Marxist victimological cant. (It should be noted that white male leftist writers are equally awful, but for slightly different reasons: they're just plain stupid.)
You ever try to read this crap? It's all about "narratives" and "power structures" and other airily eye-glazing academic nonsense.
"I'd wager that one reason [women don't read the news or vote as regularly as men] is when they turn to it they donÂ’t see anyone who looks like they do or is talking about their concerns in a way they can relate to."
How condescending. Women can only read writers that "look like them" or who write in a way they can "relate to," presumably all girlied-up and filled with "news you can use," like stuff about menses and recyclable diapers and vulva health.
I say crap like that all the time, but I'm kidding.
It's a strange inversion. Those who insist the loudest that there is no difference between men and women are forever suggesting there are great differences between them; while those, like conservatives, who believer there are indeed major differences between men and women behave as if the sexes are more or less the same and should be treated equally.
Except when it comes to things like moving furniture; women have a strong evolutionary advantage as regards moving heavy couches up stairwells, and I of course always allow my ladies to show their full womanhood by managing such tasks themselves.

— Ace Trees and monkeys good, people bad:
In this remote corner of southern Rwanda, Twa pygmies are fighting a losing battle against the modern realities of environmentalism that are robbing them of their traditions.
Sandwiched between the Burundian border and the edge of the dense Nyungwe rainforest, the village of Bweyeye is on the frontline of an increasingly divisive struggle between the diminutive Twa and the long arm of Rwandan law.Forced to abandon their centuries-old hunter-gatherer lifestyle by a ban on such activity in the maze of giant tropical trees, towering ferns and tiny orchids, many Twa have descended into crushing poverty and alcoholism.
Nyungwe, home to chimpanzees and other monkey species, is a stretch of rainforest in this central African region and Rwandan officials are keen to exploit its eco-tourism potential by protecting it.
But the Twa say the restrictions are destroying their community, which sits at the end of a track so potholed that even the most robust four-wheel drive vehicle struggles to do more than 10 kilometers (six miles) an hour.
"I realize that nature reserves bring tourists and that tourists bring dollars, but we don't get to see any of those dollars here in Bweyeye," says Felicien Hakizimana, a 35-year-old Twa father of three.
"This ban on setting foot in the forest is a problem because our ancestors lived from the forest, they even used to hunt elephants there," he said, adding that, once, the meat from an elephant could sustain a family for a month.
"Now we will soon die of hunger," Hakizimana tells AFP.
In addition to providing food, the vast 970-square-kilometer (375-square-mile) Nyungwe forest used to provide the Twa with essential fuel and raw materials such as wood for building.
But no longer.
So, people who actually live off the land and in true (brutal) balance with nature must suffer because eco-tourists and enviro-dilettantes want to touch some bark in its natural habitat.
As they say: Leftists love "the masses," but they hate actual people.
Thanks to Craig.
