Kermit the Frog Watches Porn
— Ace

Moderate to Heavy Content Advisory.

Just so you know, he's watching the nastiest clip I've ever seen, 2 Girls 1 Cup, which people usually send to gross their friends out. That's definitely not a recommendation, by the way.

PS: Definitely do not go searching for that video, and if you do, don't watch it at work. I think it might actually be a breach to even mention that video. It's vile. But the "reaction shot of people watching 2 girls one cup" is a big YouTube thing now, and that's what this video is a parody of, so I thought I'd mention it.

Seriously, don't go searching for it.

Senator "Let Them Eat Cake" to Resign
— Slublog

trentantoinette1.jpg

See ya.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Sen. Trent Lott of Mississippi, the Senate's No. 2 Republican, plans to resign his seat before the end of the year, congressional and Bush administration officials said Monday.

Lott, 66, scheduled two news conferences in Pascagoula and Jackson later in the day to reveal his plans. According to the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity ahead of the announcement, Lott intends to resign effective at the end of the year.

No reason for Lott's resignation was given, but according to a congressional official, there is nothing amiss with Lott's health. The senator has "other opportunities" he plans to pursue, the official said, without elaborating. Lott was re-elected to a fourth Senate term in 2006.

Allah chronicles the reasons many of us will not shed a tear at his departure.

Au revoir, porky.

Update [Ace]: At Allah's link it's explained why he's resigning now-- he wants to avoid new lobbying rules, which only apply to Congressmen serving in the year 2008, which bar all Congressmen from lobbying for two years.

What a guy.

But I think this law has already served nicely in reducing corruption, if not precisely by the mechanism intended.

Paris Burning, Again
— Ace

The return of the YOUEEs (Youths of Undetermined Ethnic Extraction).

Fires are raging in the banlieue tonight. Two boys aged 15 and 16 riding on a mini-motorcycle (prohibited on the road) hit a police car this afternoon in Villiers-le-Bel. The boys, who werenÂ’t wearing helmets, were killed. Hundreds of enraged men and boys are tearing up the neighborhood.

Le Parisien reports that they burned down a Peugeot dealership, sacked a train station and shops, tore up a McDonaldÂ’s, stole the dayÂ’s receipts and attacked customers, smashed and burned cars, and are still going strong. A police commissioner who tried to talk to the mob was attacked with iron rods; his face and skull are fractured. A police station was burned down, seven policemen were injured.

Big test for Sarkozy, obviously.

Rent-A-Pet in Japan
— Purple Avenger

An interesting concept. Suppose you can't find that really hot Porsche 911 you'd like to get naked with and the only thing in the parking lot is a bunch of very non-hot Yugos or Trabants? These guys will provide you with a nice fluffy rent-a-pet with sexy lines that will take care of your psyche for as long as a week or as short as an hour.

I wouldn't mind renting a baboon for a few hours to place in certain people's offices before they get in in the morning. Recording their 911 calls would be hilarious.

911 operator: Sir what's your problem?

Mark: There's a baboon in my office.

911 operator: Sure sounds like it sir. You seem like a nut.

Mark: No, I mean a large furry primate swinging around on the ceiling.

911 operator: Right. Have you been drinking sir?

Sexual Assault On A Vehicle
— LauraW.

A man was arrested for sitting on a BMW at a Home Show and publicly...lubing his balljoint. The auto had to be washed down after he unfortunately...flushed his radiator all over it.

Sorry.

...Wong reported he also gets aroused by certain cars, including a 1967 Camaro and a 1955 Chevy Bel Air, and blames the owners for buying the cars because it tempts him to “pleasure” himself.

Court heard Wong was also arrested May 24 for jumping on a 2005 MiniCooper outside the downtown Boston Pizza, dropping his pants and proceeding to “tuck, rub and bounce his naked genitalia” on the hood of the car.

Hot.

Tawny Kitaen could not be reached for comment.

Thanks to eddiebear.

UPDATE: In comments, Fuloydo comes up with the most obvious and egregious pun for Mr. Wong's dysfunction: Autoerotica.

I knew you could do it.

Why Are They Coming Home?
— Dave In Texas

Iraqi refugees clogging border checkpoints, on their way home.

Back to broken homes, torn places to be sure.

But going back.

No declarations of success. Any more than there should be declarations of failure, as my co-blogger (I love calling her that) lauraw pointed out so ably.

Just monitoring things that are happening. Facts on the ground.

These are good facts.

Anyone Could See This Coming
— LauraW.

A while back in some comments I predicted how lefties/ MSM would have to respond to a good outcome in Iraq. After years of investing their reputations in defeat, success must not be allowed to stand untarnished.

Even if Iraq became a stable democracy- if we created a strategic beachhead of sanity in the Middle East, they will have to maintain that it wasn't worth our investment of blood and fortune.

It is the last way they can still claim we lost.

This outcome hasn't even been determined yet, but the distressingly good news from Iraq has already provoked that response.

I got it wrong about the blood and money. As if lefties care about that.

It isn't just that the Iraq war invigorated the anti-Americanism that has always been latent pretty much everywhere. Far worse is the fact that—however it all comes out in the end, however successful Iraqi democracy becomes a decade from now—our conduct of the war in Iraq has disillusioned our natural friends and supporters and thrown a lasting shadow over our military and political competence. However it all comes out, the price we've paid is too high.

Emphasis me. Wars don't have only one result, Anne. A multitude of reactions and events, positive and negative, will flow from what has been put in motion over the last few years.

You cannot say 'No matter what, the outcome will be all bad,' when it comes to war. Especially when things are going well, for crying out loud.

Just as I cannot objectively call the thing victory yet, you can't objectively call it a failure until that actually, you know, happens, and the various other outcomes happen too.

To preemptively claim that a strategic success is not success, and that no one else in the world will recognize it as such, is....well, you're sounding like a desperate mud-flinging twit.

Let's just wait and see how it all shakes out, shall we, before we go crawling in supplication to other nations to forgive us our prideful transgressions.

Give the dirge a fuckin' rest, already. This is a delivery room.

(Actually, am looking forward to more of this struggling and moaning from the media lefties. It's delightfully pathetic.)

Canadian shoppers invading border states
— Purple Avenger

Another tragic side effect of a weaker dollar...people buying more stuff from us and littering parking lots with the wrappings so they don't have to declare things like shoes at customs.

It's a mass exodus that we haven't seen in this country for more than three decades. With the Black Friday weekend well underway, all you have to do is head to any mall parking lot in Buffalo or Niagara Falls, New York to see the proof of it - car after car after car bearing Ontario plates. And you may be looking at them for a while. Thanks to the influx of Canadians taking advantage of the higher loonie with some cross border shopping, you may not be able to get a place to park at all...
I guess the Canadian's "outrage" over the USA being a "world pariah" and all that kinda stops at the point where they can get a better deal at a US store. Tossing some jack into the pockets of the unilateral hegemonic imperialist empire just makes good sense then, right?

Battlestar Galactica: Razor Open Thread
— Gabriel Malor

BSG: Razor is on SciFi tonight at 9pm. Feel free to use the comments thread to discuss.

If you haven't seen the Flashback Webisodes, go here. I haven't watched them, but I've heard they are pretty good.

A note on spoilers: everything up to and including Razor is fair game for the thread, so if you haven't seen the end of Season 3, you may want to skip it. As a courtesy, you should probably fill up the first 50 characters or so of each comment with nonsense so spoilers don't end up in the "Recent Comments" column on the right.

Heh: SFGate Deletes Comments Of Ideologically Unsuitable Readers While Tricking Them Into Believing Their Comments Still Stand
— Ace

And thus, presumably, keeping people from 1) complaining or 2) taking their comments (and traffic) elsewhere.

It works like this: SFGate deletes your comments, but when you (and only you) log in under your user name, you see your comments normally as if they are still posted. But from any other machine (with any other login, with any other cookie) the comments are gone, zapped.

It's a sneaky-shit trick of the MSM of the kind we've come to expect from them. Unwilling to admit comments of the wrong ideological stripe, or critical of the MSM themselves are being deleted, and yet still arrogant enough to exert their putative power as "gatekeepers" by permitting only comments they deign acceptable, they think they've found a cutesy way to purge comments while avoiding the flack for doing so.

And, as usual, that cutesy way is dishonest, self-serving, and partisan.

Thanks to CJ.
