Ann Coulter's Disappointing Dis Of Mike Huckabee
— Ace

She's stealing my material by leaving an unclosed italics tag. I may sue.

But the whole column is disjointed and I'm not sure who her target audience is, exactly. She seems to be writing it to evangelicals, and then knocks Huckabee alternately for believing in, or not believing in, parts of the social con agenda; where he believes in it he shouldn't, where he retreats from it he also shouldn't.

Frankly, I don't get it.

But whatever, she's hot and she doesn't like him. I guess that's good enough. I just think that when Coulter gets a high hanging curveball like Mike Huckabee, she ought to jerk it out into the parking lot, not bloop it into the infield for fielder's choice out.

Thanks to the only important man on that lighting board.

She's on Hannity and Spock tonight to bash him some more.

Hooboy: Here I give the Instapundit link of silent approval to this LGF post about alleged Ron Paul/Nazi connections.

Nonsense? Almost certainly. On the other hand, Ron Paul sure does go out of his way to let Nazis know they're welcome in the Ron Paul Revolution, doesn't he?

Quite frankly the unhinged LaRouchian conspiracy crap he's always on about, and the Truther ponds he swims in, sound Nazi-ish to me anyway.

Democratic Congressman Praises Vote To Fund War: "This is a blank check! ... It is an endorsement of George Bush's policy of endless war!"
— Ace

Okay, he didn't really say it in a positive way, but he's right.

And thanks for the blank check and endorsement, boys! Your constituents' tax money will go towards a good cause, by which I mean killing the misunderstood terrorist scum your hearts pump piss over.

Al Qaeda Defeated In Rashid By Hubris And Annihilation of Leadership, But Mostly Annihilation of Leadership
— Ace

Col. Gibbs breaks one of General Petraeus' rules and does do a victory dance. He's either a bit unguarded here or else he's really, seriously kicked these bastards' asses unholy.

Baghdad's Rashid district has long been one of the city's most violent quarters [link omitted], but from my conversation this morning with Col. Ricky Gibbs, Commander, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, it's clear that the Army has made tremendous progress in this particular area of operations.

...

Gibbs said "things have been going, and continue to be going, very very well." His command had only seen one casualty in the last three months. They'd gone two and half months without out a single casualty he said, but just in the last two weeks he'd had one soldier killed in action and another suffer wounds from and IED blast. He described the incident as an "unfortunate, but lucky, stray round that killed one of our soldiers."

The decline in violence was attributed to a number of factors, but primarily the fact that, as Gibbs said, "we have defeated al Qaeda in Rashid, and what little that are here, are low level soldiers that are without leadership or supply." He said they'd "taken out all of those leaders," and that he's "not worried about al Qaeda anymore."

He does allow that he continues to be worried about Shia extremist militias, though.

Poll: Giuliani Caught By Romney -- *NATIONALLY*
— Ace

Well there's a little somethin'-somethin'.

Giuliani and Romney are tied at 20%, Huck follows at 17%, McCain's at 14%, and Fred Thompson is considering changing his campaign slogan to "Suck It."

Comments Down... But Does This Work?
Fixed?

— Ace

Does this Haloscan comment button work?

|

Okay, it seems to work... I'll just have to start adding Haloscan comments to each post.

Anyone Know... How to add Haloscan comments automatically to every post so I don't have to do so manually? If so please let me know.

Okay... I think maybe the comments thing at the bottom of each post takes you to a Haloscan comment page. Here's hoping, anyway.

House Democrats Stuck In A Quagmire…Fund Iraq And Afghanistan Operations
— DrewM.

It was pretty much a foregone conclusion when the Senate put the money in their version of the bill but the House has officially wrapped up their ‘work’ and caved in on war funding.

In its last vote of the session, the House backed an amendment that was passed earlier this week in the Senate. The measure adds $70 billion in funds for the Iraq war. It is attached to the omnibus spending bill that funds many government operations. The measure cleared the House by a vote of 272-142.

House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey (D-Wis.) voted against the war funding amendment, calling it a conscience vote.

Republicans almost universally supported the measure while most Democrats opposed it.

For a "dumb and unpopular guy", George W. Bush sure managed to beat the crap out of Democrats this year.

New Study: Warming Is Naturally Caused And Shows No Human Influence
— Ace

The debate is over.

PS, please stop debating. Didn't you hear? It's over. What part of "over" don't you understand? The "o" or the "ver"?

Now shut up and pretend to care about CO2 (The Invisible Killer) while producing as much of it as your paycheck and/or trust fund permits.

PPS, don't have children. You'll want to use the carbon credits for children never sired to make room for that sweeeeeet villa in Aspen you've had your eye on.

Climate scientists at the University of Rochester, the University of Alabama, and the University of Virginia report that observed patterns of temperature changes (‘fingerprints’) over the last thirty years are not in accord with what greenhouse models predict and can better be explained by natural factors, such as solar variability...

These results are in conflict with the conclusions of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and also with some recent research publications based on essentially the same data. However, they are supported by the results of the US-sponsored Climate Change Science Program (CCSP).

...

The fundamental question is whether the observed warming is natural or anthropogenic (human-caused). Lead author David Douglass said: “The observed pattern of warming, comparing surface and atmospheric temperature trends, does not show the characteristic fingerprint associated with greenhouse warming. The inescapable conclusion is that the human contribution is not significant and that observed increases in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases make only a negligible contribution to climate warming.”

Co-author John Christy said: “Satellite data and independent balloon data agree that atmospheric warming trends do not exceed those of the surface. Greenhouse models, on the other hand, demand that atmospheric trend values be 2-3 times greater. We have good reason, therefore, to believe that current climate models greatly overestimate the effects of greenhouse gases. Satellite observations suggest that GH models ignore negative feedbacks, produced by clouds and by water vapor, that diminish the warming effects of carbon dioxide.”

Co-author S. Fred Singer said: “The current warming trend is simply part of a natural cycle of climate warming and cooling that has been seen in ice cores, deep-sea sediments, stalagmites, etc., and published in hundreds of papers in peer-reviewed journals. The mechanism for producing such cyclical climate changes is still under discussion; but they are most likely caused by variations in the solar wind and associated magnetic fields that affect the flux of cosmic rays incident on the earth’s atmosphere."

Meanwhile, in Bali, they've finally hammered out a non-binding inter-governmental resolution to have a roast duck dinner as a late meal, starting the night out with hookers for aperitifs and anal.

Thanks to RobG.
