100 Hours -- To FASCISM
— Ace

Just continuing to follow the lefties' playbook for reasonable, civil political discourse.

This is actually something we can all support. If one believes they'll actually follow through, which, um, is questionable.

The House moved Friday in only its second day under Democratic reign toward changing budget rules that allowed deficits to swell with lawmakers‘ pet projects and President Bush ‘s tax cuts.

Another rule change planned over Republican objections promised to curb past abuses in which GOP leaders held votes open for hours and excluded minority party lawmakers from House-Senate negotiations on the language of final bills sent to the White House for enactment.

Most Republicans also were expected to vote against a Democratic proposal to require lawmakers to disclose publicly their want for pet projects — referred to as earmarks in legislative terms — for their districts or states, such as Alaska‘s bridge to nowhere in the last Congress.

I guess we can all support that except, alas, "most Republicans."

Lefty FoxNews website Newshounds thinks that Fox's infamous captioner might be showing a little bias. I can't say I disagree.

FoxNews has had this problem before, and they're doing nothing about it. They're making themselves into jokes. They'd better get this jackass under control, or even I may stop watching them.

French Report Shocker: Palestinian-Israeli Conflict Has Nothing To Do With Global Jihadist Terrorism
— Ace

The Deuce you say.

An official report published recently by the French government says that resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will not bring an end to the threat of global terrorism.

The report, named “Internal Security vs. Terror Threats” is an official publication of the French government. The report says that “since Europe is closer and more accessible to the Middle East than the United States, it serves as an alternative to anyone seeking to attack the “distant enemy.” Europe contains a variety of appropriate targets, some of which are connected with the United States and with Israel, and a strike on one or more of these targets would draw huge international attention.”

...

The report also says that “some of the conflicts in the Middle East are mentioned extensively in the rhetoric uttered by the Islamist terrorists. However, the resolution of these conflicts would have no effect on ending global terror, which is functionally disconnected from these conflicts.”

In related news, a new French report suggests, ominously, that maybe Adolf Hitler will not be satisfied with just the Sudetenland.

Barney Frank Accuses Bush Of Deliberate "Ethnic Cleansing" In New Orleans
— Ace

Not to get into semantics with Bryan, but I don't think ethnic cleansing is the same as genocide. Ethnic cleansing is the removal of a population by means which may include mass slaughter; genocide is the deliberate mass slaughter of a racial group to eliminate it from the earth.

Still, he definitely did say "ethnic cleansing." And Bryan's quite right; if Barney Frank believes this, he really ought to commit the Democratic Party to this proposition and begin an impeachment proceding.

But of course he doesn't. He was just engaging in that "smart, tough" talk that gives the left vaginal orgasms.

Attack on the Border
— Ace

Viva Villa!

A U.S. Border Patrol entry Identification Team site was overrun Wednesday night along Arizona's border with Mexico.

According to the Border Patrol, an unknown number of gunmen attacked the site in the state's West Desert Region around 11 p.m. The site is manned by National Guardsmen. Those guardsmen were forced to retreat.

Bush immediately announced the invaders would be eligible for a "pathway to citizenship," but only if the "kept clean" of cross-border invasions for six months.

And If That's Not Infuriating Enough... Mexican drug smuggler given immunity to testify against border guards trying to stop him from smuggling 700+ pounds of drugs.

How did the prosecution go from an administrative violation for failing to report a firearm discharge, with the penalty of perhaps a five-day suspension, to prosecution for intent to commit murder?

How? Compassionate conservativism, that's how.

Thanks to Riehl World View.

Oh Lord: How to save Social Security? Send more of it to Mexican citizens, that's how.

No complaints from Democrats about "transition costs" when additional outlays are going to non-Americans, I notice.

Pretty funny. It's in four parts. I don't know if I'd bother with all four, but the first one was pretty cute.

Thanks to mesablue.

"Spiders On Drugs:" Funny. Skip Part II of the above (man, do they run out of script in a hurry) and watch this instead:

Thanks to Asher.

Pelosi Takes The Gavel
— Ace

Hm? How to welcome a new high elected representative of a party I dislike?

Let me consult my Little Leftwing Book of Civil Political Discourse.

Ah, page 15. Here it is.

Ahem.

The lying criminal whore ain't my Speaker of the House.

Is it too early to execute her for war crimes? Seems to me we're still in Iraq.*

* Look, I'm not saying execute her right now. She's only been in office a couple of hours. That wouldn't be fair, would it?

I'm just saying-- can we at least get started on filing the paperwork for her execution? These things take time, you know, with bureaucracy and all.

Dot every i and cross every t and all, but let's get this Execution Train chugging out of the station already, all right?

PS, I forgot. The Little Leftwing Book of Civil Political Discourse says I have to give her a "funny" derogatory nickname.

Okay:

"The lying criminal whore, Granny Rictus McCadaverImplants, aint my Speaker of the House."

Capt. Jamil Hussein-- Real
— Ace

Rope-a-dope.

Well played, AP. Very well played.

Thanks to Allah.

And, just to remind everyone, Michelle Malkin has consistently written that the hunt for Jamil Hussein was a secondary goal in her Iraq embedding. The first goal, and now the only goal, is to to do what few MSM folks are doing, actually reporting from the field.

George Michael Bluth From Arrested Development Parodies Aleksey "Impossible Is Nothing" Vayner
— Ace

Michael Cera doing a little freelance work. Not as good as having another episode of Arrested Development, but still pretty good.

Would it be a dick move to say I just wish GOB had done this too?

Thanks to Charlie.

On GOB Doing A Video Like This: Charlie doubts it, writing, "Yeah, like a guy in a $4000 suit is going to do a YouTube video... COME ON!!!"

Too true.

The Original: If you missed it, here's the very, very real video Michael Cera is parodying. In a way, Cera's parody is pointless, because this sonofabitch don't need no parody.
