Football Picks Reminder
— Dave in Texas

For you AoS football pickers.

Because picking football games will put gas in your car. And pay your mortgage.

And likely get you a few authorized record scans from the authorities in Ohio.

Jennifer Brunner: Southeastern Ohioans "Aren't Quite as Progressive About Acceptance of Diversity"
— Ace

A racial code word for "racist."

Doesn't eastern Ohio border Western Pennsylvania? She and Murtha should swap notes on all their racist redneck constituents.

Dance Troupe That Appeared at Khalidi Party Has Previously Simulated the Beheadings of Jews and Americans?
— Ace

Interpretative simulated slaughter?

Just so you're not misled-- no, there's no way in hell they did that at the send-off Obama attended. Just an interesting little bullet point on their resume.

Funny: Goofing on Celebrity Deep Thinkers
— Ace

You need to see the ad the celebrities made to get this.

One problem with the celebrity ad, duplicated here, is that it's far too long.

Still, funny. more...

Obama: You Bitter-Clingers are Also Selfish
— Slublog

I guess if you're not willing to "spread the wealth around," you're making a "virtue out of selfishness."

Maybe Obama and his running mate could try spreading some of their own wealth around first. My wife and I make far less than Joe Biden, but we on average give more to charity per year than the presumably un-selfish Democrat vice presidential candidate.

Obama is also ignoring the fact that overall, those in 'red states' (the bitter, clinging, selfish ones) give more to charity on average than those in blue. We're not 'selfish,' Senator. We would like to be the ones who choose where our hard-earned cash goes rather than leave that decision in the hands of you, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.

Bob Dylan on Peggy Noonan, Kathleen Parker, and Christopher Buckley.
— Jack M.

I get emails. Boy, do I get emails. Ever since I went after Kathleen "Who?" Parker, and started that running "Meanwhile Peggy Noonan (does something elitist)" gag, people are sending me all sorts of clips and articles from all over the place asking me to fire both barrels at the perceived traitors to the cause.

But, I don't want to do it. I'm sick to death of all of these nattering nabobs of negativism (where's Spiro Agnew when he's really needed?). Plus, I don't feel like giving them the attention they so desperately crave.

So, I'm going to take a page from Casey Casem and dedicate a song to all those "conservative pundits" who have done their utmost to whine, malign and undermine the prospects of this year's ticket.

The song? Bob Dylan's "Positively 4th Street". Enjoy the track as I go out to vote. With the 15 guys from the VFW I arranged to drive to the early voting precinct this afternoon.

"you've gotta lotta nerve
to say you are my friend
when i was down you just stood there grinnin'

you've gotta lotta nerve
to say you have a helping hand to lend
you just want to be on the side that's winnin'

You say I let you down
You know it's not like that
If you're so hurt, Why then don't you show it

You say you lost your faith
But that's not where it's at
You had no faith to lose, And you know it

. . .

you see me on the street,
you always act surprised
ya say "how are you?", "good luck", but ya dont mean it

when you know as well as me
you'd rather see me paralized
why dont you just come out once and scream it?"

Now I'm done with them. Y'all can save me the e-mails. Go vote or go phone bank or go help McPalin some other way.

Meanwhile, Peggy Noonan hand cranks her RCA Victrola, pours herself another glass of brandy and sneers that "Bob Dylan is OK, but it's not as if he attended The Juilliard School for God's sake."
