NCAA College Basketball Championship Game
— DrewM

Memphis v. Kansas.

More importantly, the winner of this game will determine the winner of the AoS Fantasy Pool. Right now it's down to two contenders Laddy (who has Memphis winning) and pyrexia (who has Kansas). Everyone else is drawing dead.

While my own performance was well short of what I had hoped for, I did meet my primary objective...beating Dave in Texas. Let this be a lesson to you all, if you set your goals low enough you might just meet them.

UPDATE: Kansas (and pyrexia) win in overtime...75-68. The one knock on Memphis coming into the tournament was their free throw shooting. They managed to avoid that problem until now but it caught up with them in the final game.

ObamassiahÂ…I Know More About Foreign Policy Than McCain (And Hillary)
— DrewM

I am not a fan of MaverickÂ’s to say the least but Obama is having delusions of grandeur if he really believes what he said when discussing what type of person he might pick to run with.

I think a lot of people assume that might be some sort of military thing to make me look more Commander-in-Chief-like. Ironically, this is an area--foreign policy is the area where I am probably most confident that I know more and understand the world better than Senator Clinton or Senator McCain.

Obama is also back to claiming where he lived and visited as a child and college student as relevant experience for being President.

It should be very interesting to compare and contrast how McCain, Clinton and Obama go about questioning General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker tomorrow.

Chavez Yanks "The Simpsons" from Venezuelan TV
— Dave in Texas

I guess he couldn't nationalize it.

Station spokeswoman Elba Guillen said Monday that the decision to hand over the daily 11 a.m. time slot came after the National Telecommunications Commission received complaints from viewers.

"It had to be taken off," Guillen said. "They consider it to be a series that isn't appropriate for that time because it isn't appropriate for children."

In the interests of replacing inappropriate programming with something more tasteful in the time slot, they swapped it out for "Baywatch Hawaii".

"Baywatch," which features bikini-clad bombshells and musclebound hunks working as lifeguards on the Hawaiian coast, has been running in the 11 a.m. slot since Friday.

That's tasteful enough for me.

Heh: MSNBC Interrupts McCain Speech on Iraq with "Breaking News" of Mortar Attack
— Ace

The mortar attack apparently resulted in no casualties and nothing of importance hit, and wasn't particularly remarkable, except to the anti-war propagandists at MSNBC who saw the mortar as their metanarrative arcing across the sky.

The "Taxburglar," by Slublog

A hard hitting video report from CBS, if you can believe such a thing.

Bonus! Did I credit CBS? What was I thinking. They deliberately failed to mention a corrupt Democrat's party affiliation, yet again.

Thanks to Hot Air for that bit.

Red Diaper Baby: Barck Hussein Obama's Father Favored Hardcore Socialism
— Ace

How hardcore? Try one hundred percent taxation rates, yo.

Though I understand that with charitable giving and investment in socially conscious corporations you could reduce that 100% rate down to 100%.

The guy's a pink, man. Apple, tree, a distance measured in inches.

Obama [the Elder] stakes out the following positions in his attacks on the white paper produced by Mboya's Ministry of Economic Planning and Development:

1. Obama advocated the communal ownership of land and the forced confiscation of privately controlled land, as part of a forced "development plan", an important element of his attack on the government's advocacy of private ownership, land titles, and property registration. (p. 29)

2. Obama advocated the nationalization of "European" and "Asian" owned enterprises, including hotels, with the control of these operations handed over to the "indigenous" black population. (pp. 32 -33)

3. Obama advocated dramatically increasing taxation on "the rich" even up to the 100% level, arguing that, "there is no limit to taxation if the benefits derived from public services by society measure up to the cost in taxation which they have to pay" (p. 30) and that, "Theoretically, there is nothing that can stop the government from taxing 100% of income so long as the people get benefits from the government commensurate with their income which is taxed." (p. 31)

And so much more.

With bonus strained comparison to Fitna!

The museum director says he wanted to "provoke a debate." A debate has been provoked, indeed, about his competency to hold his job.

AbsolutÂ…Yeah, Sorry About That Mexico Ad Thing
— DrewM

A Scandi/French apologyÂ…

The Absolut vodka company apologized Saturday for an ad campaign depicting the southwestern U.S. as part of Mexico amid angry calls for a boycott by U.S. consumers.

The campaign, which promotes ideal scenarios under the slogan "In an Absolut World," showed a 1830s-era map when Mexico included California, Texas and other southwestern states. Mexico still resents losing that territory in the 1848 Mexican-American War and the fight for Texas independence.

Â…More than a dozen calls to boycott Absolut were posted on michellemalkin.com, a Web site operated by conservative columnist Michelle Malkin. The ads sparked heated comment on a half-dozen other Internet sites and blogs.

"In no way was it meant to offend or disparage, nor does it advocate an altering of borders, nor does it lend support to any anti-American sentiment, nor does it reflect immigration issues," Absolut said in a statement left on its consumer inquiry phone line.

I guarantee you this, youÂ’ll never see Valu-Rite running ads like this. Buy moron!
