50-46 AMONG REGISTEREDS
— Ace

I just got tipped the new McCain slogan:
That's right, Trig is a Fake Pregnancy Changeling Baby.
What are you gonna do about it, punk?!
Now that's the sort of confident straight-talking leadership we need.

— Ace Damn!
If only he'd graduated a few years earlier! He would have had a whole necklace of Gook ears like an aloha lei!
The statement is thought to be the first time during the 19-month-long presidential campaign that the Democratic nominee for the White House has indicated he once wanted to serve in uniform. The aspiration was not mentioned in either of his two volumes of memoirs.Mr Obama was asked by George Stephanopoulos of ABC's "This Week" programme whether he'd ever thought about military service and replied: "You know, I actually did. I had to sign up for Selective Service [a means of conscription in case of war] when I graduated from high school.
"And I was growing up in Hawaii. And I have friends whose parents were in the military. There are a lot of Army, military bases there.
"And I actually always thought of the military as an ennobling and, you know, honourable option. But keep in mind that I graduated in 1979. The Vietnam War had come to an end. We weren't engaged in an active military conflict at that point. And so, it's not an option that I ever decided to pursue."
Some men are just sadly born under an unlucky star.
Vote for Barack Obama
It is only due to bad timing he didn't get his chance to kill livestock, cut off ears, ravage villages, blow up bodies, and behave in a fashion reminiscent of Jenjhis Khan.
Wow. Those internals must be really, really awesome for Obama.

— Ace Detestable Andi suddenly very pro-Trig.
In thinking about this astonishing week, and what's to come, I want to go on record again as saying that the decision to bring up a child with Down Syndrome is one of the most noble, beautiful and admirable decisions any person can make. That Sarah Palin is doing that says a huge amount in favor of her. The love obviously being shown toward tiny Trig is also about as profound an advertisement for genuine, pro-life Christianity as you can have. It means that, in this respect, Palin has walked the walk of the pro-life movement - in ways that many others have not. In my view, and I mean this as passionately as I mean my criticisms of her public record, this really is God's work.
Are you congratulating Trig's mother Bristol then, Sullivan?
Seems like the new orders are "Avoid Backlash."
The media let its mask slip badly, the public got a good look at them. Their hatred, their unprofessionalism, their hypocrisy, their transparently urgent longing for President Obama and their willingness to destroy anyone or anything who threatens that.
Whether or not this is coordinated with Obama I have no idea; it's possible they themselves realized what a despicable spectacle they made of themselves.
Or it really might be Obama -- and his internal polling -- telling them to back off. Or maybe not "telling" them to; just sharing with his allies in the media what his own polling and strategists have found. Hey, they're all in this together; hang together or hang apart.

— Dave in Texas That's the bad one.
Surgery and six to eight weeks of rehab and crutches. Not like my piddly meniscus, an ACL is much worse.
Also I got ten points (SUCK IT, DrewM), and he has insurance. And by insurance, I mean bazillion dollar injury insurance love.

— Ace 48 bottles? I can see that, I guess. What happens if you drop one bottle? Then you only have 47, and you're right fucked.
The article notes that festival promoters fear she might not show up on stage in shape to perform (no way!), and that it's suspected she's suffering brain damage from two overdoses this past year.
This woman shouldn't be in the entertainment industry.
She should be our Secretary of State.
Palin
Winehouse
Because there's no such thing
as second-place in a crazy-race.

— Ace Someone else beat him by a day, on some obscure blog.
Still, sure would like to know how it came to Sullivan's attention.
Oh well. Let me quote Sullivan's defensive quote of the day today:
"Questions are never impertinent. Answers sometimes are." -- Oscar Wilde.

— Ace Getting ahead of myself, but let's dream:
Easy victory for McCain-Palin, in which they pick the pockets of the Democrats and steal three or four formerly blue states (Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, maybe New Mexico);
Media utterly destroys its remaining credibility in its paroxysms of hatred, stupidity, malice and gross professional incompetence;
and even
Andrew Sullivan tossed out on his power glutes by gay gossip site and antisemitic conspiracy newsletter The Atlantic, trying to get its reputation back.
"Christianism Rising?" Oh yes, oh very yes. Let their be organ music.

— Ace No doubt about it, McCain is a right prick. (Or not-right prick, which is the annoying part.)
So, Sarah the Slut didn't catch on, and now the media is going with McCain the Maniac.
How's Obama's sexual history? How about his temper? Just about right, I'm thinking.

— Ace You can either believe that, or you can believe the "official story," which is that it's David Spade's kid.
Which is more absurd?
Actually, it's not absurd at all. David Spade has always gotten more ass than Proctologists Without Borders on a Brazilian-beach relief mission.
You know how much ass he gets? Gene Simmons thinks about all the ass David Spade's had and wonders, "What, and don't I rate?"
Thanks to Dan Collins.

— Ace Update: As far as I know, there was no Gadahn video released yesterday, even more strongly suggesting he's dead. He and his overweening ass are now stinking up the joint in Hell.
Interesting. The CIA equipped a missile with advanced sensors that zeroed in on his "Taco Bell fart signature," and scored a kill.
Maybe. It's unconfirmed, just suspected due to the curious silence of this husky-sized Koranic Chatty Kathy, best known for haunting the internet with dire warnings of destruction as well as the relentless recruitment of young new prospects with the Islamic aphorism "a/s/l? -- I'm harder than Osama's left kidney. LOL. (wink)"
We'll see if this Brave Islamic Warrior, who's responsible for the deaths of "literally thousands of White Castle Sliders," parks his fat ass in front of the camera to tape his annual September 11th propaganda video.
Months of attacks by unmanned US predator aircraft have caused carnage among the middle ranks of terrorist leaders in the lawless lands along the border with Afghanistan, where al-Qa'eda remains dangerous despite suffering a serious defeat in Iraq.Their victims have included experienced Arab leaders and, it is now thought, Adam Gadahn, a former heavy-metal fan and so-called "killer computer nerd" originally from California. Nothing has been heard from him for months, leading intelligence experts to conclude that he may be dead.
...
But he may have fallen victim to an expanded programme of predator assassinations which in the last year has targeted and killed many of al-Qa'eda's military commanders, terrorist trainers and facilitators.
I guess the expanded program Super Sized him to death.
Fat, dead and stupid is no way to go through life, son.
Thanks to David.
