Morning, ‘rons and ‘ronettes. Here’s another Louis B. Mayer story:
Mayer was either loved or hated; there was no in between. One of those who hated him was the actress Aileen Pringle, who called him “a swine, an opportunist, a sentimentalist.”
At one point, Pringle once recalled, she had been assigned to a picture she didnÂ’t want to do. So she went to MayerÂ’s office and, in a very professional, business-like manner, told him what was on her mind.
Mayer gave Pringle a look. “You know, Aileen, I want to tell you that the other girls come in here and they put their head on my shoulder and they say, ‘Oh, Mr. Mayer, please don’t make me do that picture,’ or whatever it is. It’s difficult for me to say no to them. You come in and start talking and telling me what you want, just like a man.
“And you know,” he finished, a steely glint in his eye, “it’s very easy for me to say no to you.”
HereÂ’s Pringle in 1924s True As Steel:
Hope you all have a wonderful day.

On the Bundys:
. . .And their way of life is one that, frankly, is on the outs. They donÂ’t develop apps. They donÂ’t ask for food stamps. It probably has never occurred to them to bribe a politician. They donÂ’t subsist by virtue of government subsidies or regulations that hamstring competitors. They arenÂ’t illegal immigrants. They have never even gone to law school. So what possible place is there for the Bundys in the Age of Obama?

I've seen some comments from some erstwhile allies that have my blood boiling. What is missed by some of these dumbasses is that Bundy's the last man standing; that the cocksuckers in the government have already forced every fucking one of his ranching peers off the land in what can only be described as a planned purge. And I'll say it again: where are the fucking libs who go to the fainting couch every goddamn time a Walmart opens because of what it does to the "mom and pop" stores? Fucking idiots.

Which is why I was all in on an "anybody but Romney" vote in the primaries in 2012. He's a good person and would've made an ok President (and definitely superior to the Indonesian) but he's an awkward campaigner and comes off much worse than he deserves, especially when he's on the attack which he does in the twattiest manner possible. Goldwater was an outstanding conservative but not a good campaigner. Reagan was a great campaigner.

What I want to know is where are the nickelfucking GOPers on this? Obama's three-letter agency had snipers aiming at American citizens, ready to shoot. You can bet your last dollar has the situation been reversed and it had been Bush in the Oval Office, the left would be screaming and every last dimwit in Congress would refuse to move forward on any legislation until the BLM head had been fired. Instead, the GOPe sits on its goddamn hands. The silence I'm hearing from those who are supposed to be on our side is deafening.

Which brings up an interesting question - I take it as granted that most of us here are finished with the GOP. That being the case, why would we vote during the midterms to give them the Senate and House to do nothing with? If it takes a crushing defeat to shake them out of their torpor, then giving them congressional control ought to be the last thing on anyone's mind.

Weren't they squeezing his nuts on the number of cattle he was allowed to own? If he has a break even point of having X number of cattle and they tell him to drop that significantly then he either complies and goes out of business or tells them to fuck off. I'm not sure why the BLM supporters are so fucking obtuse about that.

It is RomneyÂ’s first ad of the 2014 cycle, the Wall Street Journal reported. He has maintained a steady travel schedule for Republican candidates this year, and visited Idaho to stump for Simpson last month.

2. 1993 the feds decided they wanted the land but first they had to kill all the grazing rights that people had for generations. So the fed first stole the land from NV using the stupid turtle as an excuse (common process now)and raised the grazing fees to a point where it would drive ranchers out of buisness.
3. All the ranchers except Bundy folded.

And in continuing proof that somewhere along the way I slipped in to a bizarre parallel universe:
Finland is set to release postage stamps honoring the work of gay artist Tom of Finland. The artist work celebrates the male form and ‘proud homoeroticism’. "The sheet (of stamps) portrays a sensual life force and being proud of oneself. There is never too much of that in this northern country,"
The sheet of three stamps is to be released in September in conjunction with a new Postal Museum planned for the Vapriikki centre in Tampere.

The stamp at the link is arguably safe for work, but you google image search "Tom of Finland" at work at your own peril.

There is very little trust left in me, my default position now is no matter what the issue the government is wrong until proven otherwise.

You do realize Romney is Mormon, right? Which means he doesn't (presumably) drink or smoke or indulge in normal bad habits. That tweet is the Romney family having fun. It may seem like plastic or pandering behavior, but trolling is trolling, baby!
Actually, it's too bad the Romneys are unable to pimp-slap Reid while delivering their message.

I've got to say Reid isn't just mentally ill - he's completely deranged. Biden should be shipped off to a retirement community where people will make sure he doesn't drool on himself and stop him from saying boneheaded things. But REID needs to be locked away in a padded room and separated from all human contact. He should be fed his meals through a tube.

http://annapuna.blogspot.com/2007/09/what-is-art.html
What pertains to the Rice Cocker of Boston -
To fall back on the defense of art is art shows that someone never thought of consequences and all they thought of was being edgy as if edgy is cool. Ah yes, edgy; swords have edges so the artist should really be prepared to be cut for artÂ’s sake. IsnÂ’t that another truism of art; that one has to suffer for oneÂ’s art? If you are not willing to suffer the consequences of producing protest art, then you should find another line of work.

That's because of the tweets. They load up their formatting last. So when you refresh it drops you to the bottom, but then the tweets load up and pushes the comments down farther. You'll have this happen very obviously on posts that contain a lot of tweets. Other posts won't have the issue.

He is a warm, happy, sincere, thoughtful, kind and humble gentleman, comfortable in his own skin and grateful for all he has. He is a good man.
