Glenn Reynolds: The Press' Refusal to Cover Leland Yee Proves They Hate Republicans
— Ace

Pretty much, yes.

[O]utside of local media like San Francisco magazine, the coverage was surprisingly muted. The New York Times buried the story as a one-paragraph Associated Press report on page A21, with the bland dog-bites-man headline, "California: State Senator Accused of Corruption." This even though Yee was suspended, along with two others, from the California state senate in light of the indictment.

CNN, home (also until last week) of Piers Morgan, whom Yee had praised for his anti-gun activism, didn't report the story at all. When prodded by viewers, the network snarked that it doesn't do state senators. Which is odd, because searching the name of my own state senator, Stacey Campfield, turns up a page of results, involving criticisms of him for saying something "extreme". Meanwhile, CNN found time to bash Wisconsin state senator and supporter of Gov. Scott Walker, Randy Hopper over marital problems.

But there's a difference. They're Republicans. When Republicans do things that embarrass their party, the national media are happy to take note, even if they're mere state senators. But when Democrats like Yee get busted for actual felonies, and pretty dramatic ones at that, the press suddenly isn't interested.

This feels more and more like arguing with a dull-witted child.

13 Solutions? Conservative kids don't go to J-school in the percentages liberal ones do, since they know the likely ROI is garbage. Those that do trickle through are then beat into submission or ghetto-ized out to FNC or the like. Even liberals that stray from the path, like Juan Williams, can be sneered at as "Fox News Contributor." It all must be destroyed, or at least have the dull roar of internet media to beat back against it.

Posted by: prescient11 at April 01, 2014 01:06 PM (tVTLU) I agree. It's not that the premise changed (the show was getting stale), it's that they didn't go all out on the premise. If you're going to go "Archer Vice", then change the look of the series. Do a Miami Vice/80s action ripoff. Have Archer in the white suits and his partner Cyril (or Ray) sport a mini-'fro, at least for a while. I have a feeling Adam Reed has a big "point" to make at the end of the season, in which it will probably get back to the original premise in one way or another.

76 Did anyone read that Leeland Yee indictment? The damn thing is NUTS! It's a Tarantino movie. The FBI agent was undercover for fouryears maybe more. The group Leeland Yee said he could get the HELLFIRE missiles from was a Muslim separatist Philippine organization that went by the acronym-- MILF. (no you can't make this shit up.) Yee tells the FBI agent MILF is low on cash because Gaddafi use to fund them. Yee was currently running to be Cali's Sec of State and oversee its elections --if that's how ot works in Cali-- and Cali is the twelfth largest economy in the world. Yee had a reputation with the press as being one of the 'clean" politicians out here. Shrimp Boy his body has connections to Hsu--the guy that raised over $20 million via an illegal ponzi scheme-- he is one of Hillary's "HillRaisers!" By 2007, Hsu's status within Hillary Rodham Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign had risen to the level where he was a "HillRaiser",[23][29] someone who had "bundled" more than $100,000 for her campaign, and to where he co-hosted a $1 million fundraiser at wealthy Democratic Party supporter Ron Burkle's Beverly Hills estate. And--what does CNN tell you? Local Story!!!!

That's what I think every time someone is on Fox arguing with Juan Williams.

He uses argument by personal disbelief, false equivalencies, ad hominem, and will argue as if the stated intentions of a program's law writers were actually their results.  Eg "Bending the Cost Curve down" and "Covering people without insurance" in the case of Obamacare.

96 The only tangible Truth that exists in the media is "Thou Shalt Not Embarass the Party".  A recent addendum to that is "The First Black President's Term Shall be Thought a Rousing Success" and it doesn't matter if they have to drag the smoking remains of the country across the finish line to do it.  That's their operating instructions no matter what.  Anything that happens gets filtered through those lines of code.

If gunrunning Yee had been lil' Johhny Whitebread, a card carryin' NRA member for the GOP, we'd hear about it until the hot death of the universe because it would validate the infantile Left's delusion that the NRA exists to hand out hand grenades to pre-schoolers.

- Change it to a good ol boy republican elected on family values
- Make them working with a white South African gun seller/terrorist organization

...and you'll have a winner!!

A dull-witted child may be excused: the child is dull-witted, not malicious, not beholden to an agenda, not blinded by a destructive ideology, not intent upon deception.  The once-free American Press, whose historical function in a free society has been to illuminate, uncover, and inform as a bullwark against tyranny?  They have betrayed a sacred trust, and have no excuse.

No Republican can expect fairness or objectivity from these people.  I would suggest to Republican leaders at the national level--members of Congress and governors--that they boycott the most egregious offenders, such as the NYT, NBC, ABC, CNN; i.e., no more interviews or talking head panels, no more press conferences allowing them a question, nothing. Of course, the MSM might welcome such a boycott, but so be it.  They're nothing more than the Agitprop Ministry of the Democratic Party, undeserving of notice or respect.

The real reason is that it is sometimes used in the manufacture of drugs (primarily Ecstasy). So, because it might eventually, in high enough doses, cause you some health problems, and because people are using it to make drugs, I can't get real sassafras to make real f*cking rootbeer. 186 Media is run like a subversive anti freedom operation.

Whenever I see stories like this one happening (or not happening), in real time, I always wonder -- what about all of the other stories that have been handed down to us as though they are True History?

If we can see how insanely, outrageously Leftist and flat-out, deliberately wrong the media is, about events that we can learn about through alternative media, how can we remotely trust anything we didn't actually witness?

Remember when there were only 3 TV channels and no alternative media?  When "alternative media" meant a Communist newsletter handed out at the coffee shops near major universities and record stores?

For a brief accident of technology, we have a mildly free-ish media.  That will come to an end in short order, but for some of us living through the 00s and 2010s, we'll be able to say that we lived through a time with a glimmer of media freedom.

But what about major events that occurred only 10-20 years ago?  What about 100 or 200 years ago?  The fact that history can be manipulated to mean virtually anything, as it is happening, tells me that our histories are completely untrustworthy.

For all we know, we could actually be living in the year 1050, or 10,500, instead of 2014.  That's how far the media can bend reality.

I dunno.   See, if they    say that arresting Yee was racist then that will be tantamount to admitting that Asians are    a racial category,   and not just   "white    people with funny eyes,"   which is how the left otherwise views them.   If they make this admission then that means that the Asian groups currently suing in California because of exclusionary    college admission practices    will be able to leap on that as evidence of racism.    So they're kind of screwed either way.

I love it.

It was only my respect for private property and my recognition that my rights end at my fist and your rights start at your face that kept me from rearending the bint and hauling her out of the car and beating her for sheer stupidity. It's not just the snark of it, it's the complete and total and utter willful ignorance of the event to which the bumper sticker refers. You are not proving you are tolerant, you are proving you are woefully and willfully ignorant, not to mention lacking in basic literacy. I still wish I'd slammed into the Porsche with the Help For Republicans 1-800-KEVORKIAN bumper sticker, if for no other reason than putting a bumper sticker on that car deserves to be punished.

(Obamacare "Sign-Ups" and Two Changes in the Law)

Roughly 2 million previously uninsured are now covered (non-medicaid, non-parental coverage) at a cost of roughly 2 trillion dollars, or roughly $1 million per person to cover the previously uninsured suckers decided to sign up, not too mention all the job losses, higher premiums, ridiculous deductibles it caused in its wake for the rest of us.

If this were Enron (which only cost "5,000 jobs and $1 billion in employee retirement funds [that] were wiped out overnight when the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in December 2001."), . . . .

http://preview.tinyurl.com/lnufb6z

One trillion is a thousand Enrons (a thousand billion), resulting in the cost of Obamacare being 2000 Enrons, and Obamacare's jobs losses are projected at 2.5-3 million or 500-600 Enrons.

That's so retarded it's not even funny.  Even state Senators are powerful.  You're talking about a group that knows it'll get a long prison sentence if caught, so they're motivated to be secretive.  Additionally they have the power to cover up their tracks when they make a mistake.  Uncovering secret societies crimes takes times and careful documentation to be sure to root up as many of the actors as you can.  All the while you have to be sure not to alert the actors to your intentions.

Just look to prosecutions of Mob leaders in any number of Eastern Cities.  Four years is relatively quick in comparison.

I believe they were using the .38LC and it wasn't powerful enough.  The typical rebel had the physical stature of a highschool teen, and could take a direct hit and keep charging under the influence of drugs.  The .45 round changed that.  They went back to a .45LC round which was used in revolvers, but the new contract specified that a semi-auto pistol with a caliber not less than a .45 be made.

You keep claiming that OCare cost $2 trillion to sign up however many, and that just isn't so. The CBO projects that OCare will cost $1.5 trillion, but over a ten year period.  So even going for the higher # of $2 trillion, it's still over 10 years.

I hate this POS law as much or more than anyone, but throwing out incorrect stuff doesn't help. You can't lump all 10 years of costs into 1st year signups.

Larry Brinkin.   He only just got sentenced,   and his sentence is a fucking joke.

Larry Brinkin, S.F. Gay Rights Activist Convicted of Porn Charges, Headed to Jail

SF Weekly:   http://tinyurl.com/ooz8z6q

Larry Brinkin, the once beloved Human Rights commissioner who was busted with child pornography, was handed his sentence this morning, which includes six months in County Jail and home detention.

In January, Brinkin, who was arrested in 2012 after police discovered child pornography on his computer, cut a deal with prosecutors, offering up a guilty plea in exchange for a lighter sentence. Prosecutors ended dropped the second charge of distributing child porn as part of the plea deal....

And what was in the child porn traced to his IP?   Surely it couldn't have been that bad if he only got six months in the clink and then essentially home arrest, right?

Wrong.

SF Weekly broke the news in June 2012 when local cops had arrested the high-profile gay rights activist after investigators traced    images of children as young as perhaps a year old being sodomized by and performing oral sex on adult men to Brinkin's IP address. SFPD acted after receiving a tip from the Los Angeles Police Department, which obtained from AOL an e-mail exchange between a Los Angeles user and zack3737@aol.com.

Zack3737@aol.com -- whom the police say is Brinkin -- provided graphic commentary on the photos of interracial adult-child sex. Comments included "I loved especially the n****r 2 year old getting nailed. Hope you'll continue so I can see what the little blond bitch is going to get.    White Power! White Supremacy! White Dick Rules!"

Mind you, in the story they actually spell out the N-word, as it was in the email.

But it's cool, because he   gets six months at home with an ankle bracelet in addition to his prison sentence, and they'll totally monitor his computer usage.   Not like he can go to the library or anything,   right?

As zombie will tell you, the LGBT-OMG-WTF community here in San Francisco is shot through from top to bottom with pedophilia, and it has been for a long long time now.

One of zombie's local stories involved (I hope I'm getting the details correct) being introduced at a party to someone only by first name, and zombie connecting the dots mentally and realizing that the individual in question was a reasonably well known radical lesbian academic and author.

And what was being discussed between that person and another guest, as casually as one might discuss where to vacation, was the "grooming" of underage girls.

323 OT have you seen that public service commercial with the NA who says he got COPD from second hand smoke, and then the commercial goes on to say he died of it at age 54? His name is Nathan Moose. He worked at a casino that allowed smoking. He says that's what made him sick. I call BS. I am sure he, and now his family, used that claim to get money from the casino. He says in the ad that he did not smoke cigarettes. Fine. Pot use among NA is huge and the cultural norm. I wonder if he was a regular pot smoker, and that led to his lung problems. In the November issue of Chest Physician, the association of regular marijuana smoking with chronic respiratory symptoms was examined in three published studies of young and middle aged adults residing in Los Angeles, California, Wellington, New Zealand and Tuscon, Arizona. All three studies showed a correlation between the smoking of marijuana and chronic bronchitis, independent of the effects of cigarette smoking. In an additional study published by the Canadian Medical Journal, it was revealed that among those 40 and older, smokers were two-and-one-half times more likely than nonsmokers to develop COPD, while combining cigarette smoking and marijuana smoking boosted the odds of developing COPD to three-and one-half times the risk than those of non-smokers (of either cigarettes or marijuana). Essentially, this means that adding marijuana to the mix of cigarette smoking increases the chances of developing COPD by one-third. The study concluded however, that smoking only marijuana was not associated with an increased risk of respiratory symptoms or COPD. The bottom line...if you have COPD, smoking cigarettes is bad, and combining cigarettes and marijuana is even worse. my two cents

It would seem to me to the the first and most essential piece of business facing us.

337 As for Yee, someone mentioned something I thought significant.

There is enormous corruption all through the Chinese subsystem of the Democratic machine in the SF Bay Area. You will find it the instant you start turning over rocks.

Yee was preceded by Ed Jew (who despite the surname is Chinese-American), who was so thoroughly on the take that it would be hard to imagine that he ever in his entire time in office took any action for which he hadn't been paid in cash up front.

A really rigorous investigation and sweep would be extremely likely to roll up not just Yee but others. (Hint hint Rose Pak hint hint.)

Yet the FBI, under the aegis of Holder's Justice Department, homed in on Yee. And only on Yee.

What this other Horde member suggested was that this was a case of "kill the chicken to scare the monkey" (perhaps not in those words but that was how I took it). That is, blue on blue. Other Democrats sending a message in an intraparty fight.

Chinese-American pols in California are getting pulled in two directions. The Chinese community DO NOT WANT a return to traditional affirmative action at the state universities, because they realize their kids will lose places at those schools to make room for lower performing black and Hispanic kids.

But the Democratic apparat in the state, avid for black and Hispanic votes, DOES very much want to dismantle the bars to affirmative action and go back to proportional racial quotas.

Yee opposed that. Not on principle but just due to Chinese constituent outrage. Which puts him on the wrong side of the African-American bloc in the Democratic Party not just statewide but nationally. And look who runs the federal government right now? The AfAm wing of the Democrats.

Larger lesson here: interethnic schisms are emerging on the left.

372 It works more like this, I think.
Look at the last few elections, the Democrats went all in, they spent billions, they had millions of volunteers, they cheated like crazy, they had the entire entertainment and news media community working actively to help them get elected, and it was a full court press.
And they barely win.
The left has figured out that unless they work all the time, as hard as possible, with every possible outlet at the same time, they lose in America. So they have to put everything they've got into it constantly.
And the press knows this, they know they can't rest a moment in their cheerleading and covering for the left and in their attacks on the right. They know its a full time job or they start to lose ground again.
So it doesn't even necessarily have to come down to any personal feelings other than fear.

Pretty much the worst death from the old world is crucifixion.  You drown in fluid that builds up in your lungs.  The only way to relieve pressure on your hands is to stand up and add pressure to your feet.  Same same for your feet, you have to take your weight on your arms.

If you survived a couple of days the Romans usually mercy-killed you by breaking your arms, the shock pushed your body over the edge into death after the slow torture.

Nero famously lit his Colosseum with flaming Christians on the cross arranged above the Colosseum.

399 Crucifixion is about the most painful way to die, its unbelievably horrible, according to medical doctors. Not only is it bad to hang by spikes, but the spikes are driven pretty much exactly through nerve clusters. And to prevent the agony of pleural pooling and suffocation, you push up with your stabbed legs to stand up a little longer. Medically its a horrific thing that pretty much has vanished from human culture.
And Jesus on the cross thought that pain was nothing compared to being forsaken by God the Father...

Yeah, there's the little thing of Pilate washing his hands of the matter and letting the Jewish mob have their way.

420 National Review ‏@NRO 13m Welcome to the Church of the Left: http://natl.re/1fkHs67 With the demise of the biblical religions that have provided the American people with their core values since the countryÂ’s inception, we are reverting to the pagan worldview. Trees and animals are venerated, while man is simply one more animal in the ecosystem. And he is largely a hindrance, not an asset. On February 20, a pit bull attacked a four-year-old boy, Kevin Vicente, leaving the boy with a broken eye socket and a broken jaw. Kevin will have to undergo months, perhaps years, of reconstructive surgeries. A Facebook page was set up to raise funds. But it wasnÂ’t set up for Kevin. It was set up for the dog. The “Save Mickey” page garnered more than 70,000 “likes” and raised more than enough money to provide legal help to prevent the dog from being euthanized. There were even candlelight vigils and a YouTube plea for the dog. The nonprofit legal group defending Mickey is the Lexus Project. According to CBS News, “the same group fought earlier this year for the life of a dog that fatally mauled a toddler in Nevada.” This is the trend: Nature over man. This is why environmentalists oppose the Keystone pipeline: Nature over man. The pipeline will provide work for thousands of people, and it will greatly increase the energy independence of Canada and the United States. But to the true believers who make up much of the environmentalist movement, none of that matters — just as they didnÂ’t care about the millions of Africans who died of malaria as a result of the environmentalistsÂ’ successful efforts to ban DDT.

434 a Jewish perspective Indeed, according to most historians, it would be more logical to blame the Romans for Jesus' death. Crucifixion was a customary punishment among Romans, not Jews. At the time of JesusÂ’ death, the Romans were imposing a harsh and brutal occupation on the Land of Israel, and the Jews were occasionally unruly. The Romans would have had reason to want to silence Jesus, who had been called by some of his followers "King of the Jews," and was known as a Jewish upstart miracle-worker. Jews, on the other hand, lacked a motive for killing Jesus. The different factions of the Jewish community at the time--Pharisees, Sadducees, Essenes, and others--had many disagreements with each other, but that did not lead any of the groups to arrange the execution of the other allegedly heretical groupsÂ’ leaders. It is therefore unlikely they would have targeted Jesus. But the belief that Jews killed Jesus has been found in Christian foundational literature from the earliest days of the Jesus movement, and would not be easily abandoned just because of historians' arguments.

Peter says in Acts: you killed Christ, so its not without merit, but he doesn't mean it like some people do when they say that. He meant more like Bevel Lemelisk does when he points out sin killed Jesus.
And, as Insomniac notes, Peter goes on to say "and it was all according to plan, you just carried it out."

Jesus was gathering thousands of followers.  He was testifying of the sins of the Jewish leaders of the sects.  He bucked their rigid translations of the Law.  He "blasphemed" by claiming to be the Son of God, yet didn't live up to the Jewish expectation of the First Coming, which was to conquer the enemies of the Jews and free them from bondage.  Every time the sects tried to outsmart him using argumentation of doctrine they failed miserably.  He did miracles in public that were undeniable, leading people to thinking "Either this man is possessed of the Devil and has great power from him, or He is who He claims to be."  For a Jewish leader of the day, if you reject that He was Divine, he had to be the embodiment of evil.

I cannot disagree more strenuously that the Jewish leaders of the time had no reason to kill Jesus.

492 While TFG busies himself with taking selfies. http://tinyurl.com/p9galbw While much Western attention has been bestowed on Russia’s military buildup near Ukraine, Moscow also began a massive nuclear offensive exercise on Thursday. According to the Russian daily Nezavisimaya Gazeta, on Thursday Russia’s Strategic Missile Forces began a massive three-day exercise involving 10,000 soldiers and 1,000 pieces of equipment from more than 30 units. The major purpose of the drill, according to the report—which cites multiple senior Russian military officers—is to ensure Russia’s Strategic Missile Forces have sufficient readiness to conduct offensive operations involving the massive and simultaneous use of nuclear missiles. Global Security Newswire previously carried a story on the nuclear exercise, also citing the Nezavisimaya Gazeta article. GSN described the exercise as “as practice for a large-scale nuclear offensive.” It added: “Exercise participants were set to position and prepare missile-firing units for launch, and to practice various administrative and support functions for the operation

494 during the period of the Roman occupation, many "prophets" claimed to be the messiah, and the Jews didn't kill them

True.  But the Jewish leaders managed to do with the other "prophets" what they couldn't do with Jesus.  They questioned the "prophets" in Temple and Synagogue and Market Square and managed to expose them with their knowledge of doctrine.  Also, those other "prophets" weren't doing miracles in public that were undeniably either of the Devil or of God.  With Jesus, you had to choose, He was one or the other.  There was no in-between.  So once the leaders rejected Him as the Messiah, they had to decide what to do.  Either let this embodiment of evil draw the people away, or destroy him.

Also, those other "prophets" weren't exposing the evil and hypocrisy of the Jewish leaders to the people.

Everything's a message. Notice the continued use of the word 'offensive' by Nezavisimaya Gazeta. Putin is telling NATO (and potential Eastern European NATO allies) that the nuclear option is on the table should anyone contemplate a conventional military response to increasingly aggressive Russian behaviors.

It should also be noted that Finland is seriously contemplating asking for formal NATO membership for the first time, a move that country didn't take in the past for fear of antagonizing the Russians, so perhaps this exercise is also Putin's way of telling the Finns that he is suitably antagonized.

There are all sorts of things going on right now; e.g., Moldova, Eastern Ukraine, Finland.  I'm guessing because Putin wants to keep NATO off-balance and uncertain.  He seems to be succeeding.

Judas was no hero playing out a necessary role, which seems to be implied (or even claimed outright) in some modern, popular interpretations of the Gospels.  Judas did what he did out of greed and spite and lack of fidelity and faith, and deserved everything he got.

507 thunderb and maddogg 410. I keep trying to figure it out. That whole scenario is just another of the many ugly balls o' wax tales that played out injustices. The Roman's having put Herod in charge of Jews really upset the Abraham birthright cart again, back behind the horse. By patriarchal law, the birthright for descendents belonged to Esau (Herod's ancestor). Remember, Jacob coerced Esau to forfeit his birthright (consider forfeiting inalienable rights -- no legitimate way to do that) before getting a drink of water or bowl of gruel, because Jacob was too hard hearted to offer his brother any refreshment after Esau returned from a long, unsuccessful hunt during drought, having been sent to find food for the family by Isaak who favored his first born Esau, the hunter. And what was Jacob doing while Esau sought food for Jacob? SQUAT, mama's boy smart ass who lacked the respect to show an angel when visited. So when it came between Herod Sr. and Herod Jr. and Jesus the baby and the 33 year old adult Jesus ministering Love? The Jews preferred to feign respect for "the law and the prophets" -- absolutely rejecting the singular divine Commandment to Love God, Self AND NEIGHBORS trumping all other diddly-squat shit piles of manufactured commandments that were fabricated to make money changers profits, to occupy minds on the mundane, and preventing consciousness which would liberate spirits and souls from authoritarian strangleholds on imagination. Already racked by guilt, Herod Jr. realized what the Jews demanded, and cowered from taking any part in Jesus' assassination, sending Jesus to the Roman Governor -- Herod didn't want Jesus' blood on his hands, topping the Baptizer John's decapitated blood stains. Pilot, to his credit, tried to talk sense to the Jewish PRIESTS who riled up mobs to threaten the Peace kept by Pilot. Still, after all the events of Christ's crucifixion, what written accounts we have today in the New Testament went through a century+ prior to being gathered for PC revisions and compilation by the dogs belonging to Constantine Emperor who boiled his wife and who murdered his son butchered to pieces before usurping Jesus' Gospel to revise in order to gain more worldly power, and to kill every early Christian who wouldn't conform to that tyranny as if representing on earth God's Love. What is apparent is that everyone passed the buck, until the buck landed right back where it began with the Jewish Priests demanding that Jesus be assassinated for presuming the "right" to having a direct and personal relationship with God as Our Father In Heaven aka Eternal Love, Light, and Truth. And in THAT, the Jewish Priests proved their full loathing extent rejecting Emmanuel "God With Us". Btw, that contemptuous point is weirdly the same "failing" attributed by Pope John Paul II* to Muhammad's Islamic Allah. "Allah" is the Arabic word for the same Canaanite God aka "El" and pl. Elohim in Hebrew/Israel/Judah holy writ -- the "jealous god" who is 1) the only /surviving/ god 2) that simultaneously-ironically has no other gods above/before, 3) and who commands blood offerings and genocides in turn. *Crossing the Threshold of Hope (1994)

Posted by: troyriser at April 01, 2014 03:20 PM (O66NZ) The Gospel of Judas A leather-bound Coptic language papyrus document that surfaced during the 1970s, near Beni Masar, Egypt, was named the Codex Tchacos after an antiquities dealer, Frieda Nussberger-Tchacos, who became concerned about the deteriorating condition of the manuscript. First translated in the early 2000s, the codex contains text that appears to be from the late 2nd century AD, and includes the self-titled "Gospel of Judas" (Euangelion Ioudas) which claims to be the story of Jesus's death from the viewpoint of Judas. The codex originally contained 31 pages, with writing on both sides; however, when it came to the market in 1999, only 13 pages remained. The manuscript was radiocarbon dated "between the third and fourth century", according to Timothy Jull, a carbon-dating expert at the University of Arizona's physics center, and described by the National Geographic as being from AD 280, plus or minus 60 years. It has been speculated, on the basis of textual analysis concerning features of dialect and Greek loan words, that the Coptic text contained in the codex may be a translation from an older Greek manuscript dating, at the earliest, to approximately AD 130–180. http://tinyurl.com/odmkycx

I expect they all did, but the ones that claimed to be god, if any, were put to death for blasphemy.
And yeah, the Gospel of Judas is as historically valid and useful as "The DaVinci Code."

516 No, of course we won't do that. As Allah suggests, you don't have to shoot all looters to establish the point that looting won't be tolerated. You just have to hang one of the ringleaders in the town's center plaza. The rest will get the idea. Wasn't it someone from the EPA... Oh, yeah! Armarindez who said, “It is kind of like how the Romans used to conquer the villages in the Mediterranean — they’d go into a little Turkish town somewhere and they’d find the first five guys they saw and they’d crucify them. Then that town was really easy to manage for the next few years.” Didn't he resign because of insensitivity getting caught (fuck this "Freudian Slip" or "Kinsley Gaffe" euphamising!) or some such? This is who they are.
