Maybe the Soviets did invent a stupid ray?  Something that turns people into drooling idiots?  But it takes prolonged exposure to the rays for them to take effect?

Because everything I see on TV coming out of NYC and DC lately has to have been thought up, proposed, approved and implemented by the "mentally challenged."   And that includes the media, the DC and NYC Bureaucats, Democrats and Republicans.

There has to be an explanation for the sheer, glorious idiocy displayed by our politicians and bureaucrats!?!?

Fact:   The POS in the white house directed this and coordinated it during weekly meetings    at the white house    during 2011 and 2012.

Fact:   Lois Lerner coordinated with democrats in the house and senate to target conservatives, and to hide this from the House republicans.

Fact:   The IRS, along with the NSA, EPA and HHS,     were used to violate the constitutional rights of citizens, and were instrumental in throwing an election.

As a small business owner, a community activist, five-term Assemblyman, two-term County Commissioner and current Chairman of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Tom Collins service is a testament to his commitment to our quality of life. http://tom-collins.com/bio.htm ********* That's where he should be hit. I don't care where you stand on this story--what he said is over the line of reasonableness.

210 So Pat and Stu and Glenn Beck today have reversed position on it, they were all about this as a Waco about to happen and how unfair it all was to this rancher - but they did some more research. Now, I will start off by saying I don't haven't done much in-depth on this myself. On the surface, the whole hundreds of armed men thing seems like way overkill (hopefully not literally) but it also has a history, this didn't just spring up yesterday. It does not appear that this is necessarily a Federal government run amok trying to take a rancher's land story - it seems like a tax protestor trying to make a point by seeking a confrontation, and getting one. Regardless of the story behind it, I hope that cooler heads prevail all around. There are lots of agitated and heavily armed people about.

So now we have evidence of an actual conspiracy of multiple IRS employees abusing their power... with orders from high-up in the IRS... for the purpose of tampering with an election! They stonewalled the Tea Party while not hampering the leftist groups. They damn well may have changed the outcome of a Presidential election. This scandal infuriates me. 238 echoing the above - I did some research on the Nevada Ranch. I tend to look at the accounts prior to the catalyst. I'm leaning towards the "Dude, don't graze your cattle there." position. The tipping point for me is this: The rancher made a point of saying that he had paid the grazing fees to the county, rather than to the BLM. (This despite the fact that the ground has been off-limits for 20 years). I'd like to know if the rancher did, in fact, give the county money. Not that the county would know what to do with it.

To expand on that. It is pretty much go-to behavior for the government to just sweep in with lead hands and start slapping everyone around, and then get offended when people push back. It's true that "the audience" pretty much just gets a he-said-they-said about these stories, but one of the stories is consistent with past behavior and the other isn't. So there's that. Some more info on this recent flap and Tom Collin's big pie-hole:

It started when Darin Bushman, a Piute County, Utah, commissioner, called Collins about the Bureau of Land Management roundup of Bundy’s cattle in the Gold Butte area, about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas. The cattle are being seized after Bundy failed to pay grazing fees over 20 years. When the conversation ended, Bushman posted on Facebook that Collins said Utahns are “inbred bastards” and if they come to Clark County to support Bundy they “better have funeral plans.” Collins also told Bushman that they should mind their “own (expletive) business.”

“Now that’s some classy leadership for you,” Bushman wrote in his post.

On Tuesday, Clark County commissioners will discuss decorum of commissioners, which was sparked in part by concerns about CollinsÂ’ recent statements, said commission Chairman Steve Sisolak. Sisolak said Collins wonÂ’t be the sole focus of that discussion, which will examine the broader issue of decorum.

270 There is a limited amount of forage in areas such as that. That's why they graze them on such large parcels and let them roam.

It's thin but over 600,000 acres, it can be enough for quite a few cattle.

I'd like to see why we think it's an economic benefit to spare these animals extinction at the expense of commerce and human expense.

They need to have to do a cost benefit study before any animal is allowed special protection.

284 272 There is a limited amount of forage in areas such as that. Posted by: Bitter Clinger and All That (Waiting For SMODOT) at April 11, 2014 03:15 PM (JS0vr) ************ So if the turtles are down in numbers and--well turtles--how can they cover or roam over 600,000 acres?

293 Posse Comitatus, from Wiki, FWIW The Posse Comitatus (from the Latin phrase meaning "force of the county")[1] is a loosely organized, far-right social movement that opposes the federal government of the United States and believes in localism. There is no single national group, and local units are autonomous. Posse charters were issued in 1969 in Portland, Oregon, by Henry Lamont Beach, "a retired dry cleaner and one-time member of the Silver Shirts, a Nazi-inspired organization that was established in America after Hitler took power in Germany."[2] William Potter Gale has been described by one expert as the founder of the movement.[3] Posse members believe that there is no legitimate form of government above that of the county level and no higher law authority than the county sheriff.[citation needed] If the sheriff refuses to carry out the will of the county's citizens: ...he shall be removed by the Posse to the most populated intersection of streets in the township and at high noon be hung by the neck, the body remaining until sundown as an example to those who would subvert the law.[4][5] Many Posse members practice survivalism and played a role in the formation of the armed citizens' militias in the 1990s. The Posse Comitatus pioneered the use of false liens and other paper terrorism.[6]

295 With Gordon Kahl the tax evasion was the minor issue. He only went to prison for it after he got on the radio and started telling people to stop paying taxes. He didn't even make that much over the years to even pay much in taxes. It's after he got out that the real trouble started. He and his sons killed two federal marshals delivering a warrant. At least one of his sons is still in prison for it.

There's a name for the syndrome where people see that the stories they see coming from the media, the government and other mouthpieces make statements that they know aren't true because they have knowledge about the facts of the matter.

Then those same people will turn around and believe something else those same media/government types (or similar) say about something else as if it's totally the facts.

I can't remember the name of this syndrome but I see it a lot here.

The media/infotainment industry/government/other interested parties

LIE. THEY LIE BECAUSE THEY HAVE A REASON TO LIE.

You cannot believe anything they say unless you can verify it yourself using other sources or personal knowledge or from those you trust and know to be truthful.

Don't be fooled.

Koresh was abusing children, Weaver was making illegal weapons, McVeigh acted alone. There's others that don't make the news or don't stay in the news for long but that's how they frame these things.

Get it THEY FRAME THE STORY?

Then they repeat it and repeat it until it's buried under a thousand lies.

300 Weee little tiny fences--shouldn't cost that much. Posted by: tasker at April 11, 2014 03:22 PM (RJMhd) Turtle crossings under the highways cost millions though. It's the highways that is killing all the turtles. They run out into traffic and can't dodge the way a squirrel can. Roads in the southwest always have smushed turtles that were slow off the mark.

301 Posse Comitatus is also the name of a federal law that prohibits the use of military against US citizens.  But they weasel around it by making people like federal marshals into military and by using the National Guard.

302 I was in college in ND when Gordon Kahl killed those federal marshalls. I am very very familiar with the facts of that case. That's why this case sounds so very similar to me. And a lot of these groups are also Christian Identity groups. I have no doubt what the government is trying to do, and I abhor it. But be very very careful before we wrap this guy in a flag and make him a martyr

308 What kills me about the news any more is that there are alway two (or more) sides to the story, instead of just the story. The whole story the way it actually is the story. Why can't we get it anymore? No wonder we're so divided. It's frustrating.

310

Randy Weaver was framed when the government was worried about the militia movement and Christian Identity groups.  He attended one meeting of the Militia of Montana and wasn't too interested.  The feds wanted a mole, so one arranged to buy a shotgun from him.  He didn't want to saw it shorter than 18", but the agent insisted it be 17.75".  Having entrapped him into selling an illegal shotgun, they tried to get him to infiltrate the militia.

When he wouldn't do that they arrested him on the gun charge.  They sent him a summons to appear in court one month after his actual court date. When he missed that date...well, they killed his son, the son's friend, and his wife who was holding baby Elishba in her arms.

Be careful about them saying "oh it's just some Christian Identity nuts" or whomever they pin it on.  They have a small army on site and they're arresting people for exercising the First Amendment in unapproved zones.

Posted by: Frumious Bandersnatch at April 11, 2014 11:34 AM (JtwS4)

311 Oh, I just remembered. Remember the Huttaree Militia?

They never proved the main charges. Not one. All they have is the weapons charges that they plead guilty to and they are penny ante stuff that the prosecutors threw in to try to force them to plea out.

FYI, you can be more easily charged with possession of a machine gun than you think.

The twits at the BATF have defined and redefined the meaning of what a machine gun is to the point that owning certain parts that COULD be used to manufacture a machine gun are considered a machine gun.

I don't know what the details for them were but I'd bet it's something like that. Or maybe one had jury rigged a trigger crank or something similar.

THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT YOUR FRIEND.

312 A news organization could mop up if they would just report the news, without the 'perspectives'. The problem with perspective a lot of the time is that both sides are full of shit.

318 The BLM has yet to say how those cows grazed there since 1870 w/o hurting these stupid turtles. That right there proves that they are filthy liars and crooks. Posted by: Vic at April 11, 2014 03:13 PM (T2V/1) In Utah, they did grazing studies, and found that cattle actually do fantastic grazing with deer and other animals out in non-pastured lands. I doubt they are hurting turtles at all. But why should the govt let facts get in the way when they can bully a simple rancher instead, and taze his son?
