As far as the whole skinny models thing: to state the obvious, different industries use models with different kinds of physiques.

Haute couture tends to prefer tall, thin, quite curvy and feminine, but not overly voluptuous girls. Because they are the perfect clothes-horse. Think Audrey Hepburn with an additional foot of height.

I've seen some of these women up close. They are arresting and unusual.

They're simply elegant. They make clothes look good.

WASHINGTON - Arizona Rep. Jim Kolbe said Tuesday he told the House official in charge of the page program as early as 2001 about Rep. Mark Foley's "creepy" e-mail to a former page.

Kolbe, the only openly gay Republican in Congress, said a former page he had sponsored contacted his office to complain of e-mails from Foley and that he "passed along" the complaint to Foley, R-Fla., and then-House Clerk Jeff Trandahl. Kolbe said he did not take the matter to other lawmakers.

The inscriptions contain a number of letters equal to the the number of victims of 9/11.

Some of the commissioners actually wanted to add 19 more characters to represent the deaths of the 19 terrorist murderers who killed the victims.

The commissioner interviewed, Paul Eppinger, defends it wholeheartedly, claiming that the inscription about "Middle East Violence Causes Attacks" reflects the "fact" that "our foreign policy for years has focused on total support of Israel."

He also thinks the inscription about the civilians errantly killed by a US airstrike in Afghanistan deserves to be there, as they're all -- 9/11 victims, battle casualties due to the War in Afghanistan -- "part of the tragedy, of war, terrorism, hatred, mistrust of everyone else."

Wow.

The legislature may get involved.

Well, his other link is even better. Check it out -- Alexey Vayner (then calling himself Alexey Garber) not only began learning "Tibetan Sacred (Martial) Arts" at age 4 or something, but he later worked for both the German Mafia (?) and the CIA.

This article makes it sound pretty damn doubtful that he ever was "Yale-educated." Correction: No it doesn't. It states he was accepted into Yale's Class of '06.

Not sure about this business about a Tibetan monestary in Woodstock, NY (!) either, where, apparently, they have an annual competition to determine the best fighter in the world.

(Alexey placed second-- which is believable. Had he said he was, in fact, the very best fighter in the entire world, I might have begun to doubt his tale a bit.)
