Rick "I'M RICK PERRY, BITCH", Wins TX GOV
General Election Thread

— Ace

Okay, our state-based thread system isn't working. General election thread. We'll put further headlines into this thread, until we get too many comments (like 800), then we'll start the General Election Thread II.

You Know... We really tried to get organized for this, instead of just having it loosey-goosey chaos.

But, as Kratos always tells us, in the end there will be only chaos.

But we tried. We fucked up, but we tried. We actually put thought into it and stuff.

Okay, not a good idea. Sort of like "Be the Wave." Boy did that not work!

IN, KY: Barron Hill Defeated In IN-9;
"Bloody Eighth," IN-8, Goes R as Well

— Ace

Hill Down. The Big Wave is on; the partial Super Wave may yet be on as well.

More: Andy Barr Catching Up To Incumbent In Bellwether KY-6. Tight as a tick, about 1% lead for the Democrat.

I'm unhappy with this -- I expected that Andy Barr would win by 5%. But then, I was hoping for the 90+ wave.

Update: Now the gap is only 0.2% with 85% in. Go Andy Go!

Meanwhile, in IN, Jackie Walorski is close to catching Joe Donnelly.

Russ from Winterset: IA, MO, IL, KS, NE
— Russ from Winterset

I'm starting off with the "contested" races in these states per Real Clear Politics.

Send your tips to farmerruss, at the gmail place, and hopefully I'll be adding to the number of "contested" races in this group as the day wears on. Governor, Senate & House races are going to be featured, but I'll take tips on AG, SoS, and interesting ballot measures as well. Remember, if your "safe Democratic" district starts to lean rightward, I will add it to the contested list as I get tips.

Starting from reddest red to bluest blue. Potential pickups signified with (PU), otherwise the seat is already (R):

UPDATE: Schilling beats Hare in IL-17 for a Republican pickup. Kinzinger also beats Halvorson in IL-11 giving another pickup to the good guys. Also add Hultgren defeating Foster in IL-14 for another pickup in the House.

Hartzler also unseats Skelton in MO-4 for another Republican pickup. Kirk also picked up Obama's old Senate seat over Corleone in Illinois.

Walsh is also beating Bean in IL-8 for another possible pickup, but he's only ahead by about 800+ votes with 98.4% in, so that one is headed for a recount, IMHO. more...

Where We Are: Probably In Store for 70+ (Fingers Crossed)
— Ace

The bad news: A couple of seats we wanted for the Super Wave, 100+ seat version, look like they're not going to happen: Patrick Murray in VA-8 is well behind, as is Lally in KY-3. Republican victories in either would have presaged a 100+ pickup.

On the other hand, we're above the Big Wave scenario, as it stands: Barron Hill, in the Big Wave column, appears to be losing quite badly in IN-9.

Further, per Allah's latest update, incumbent Democrat Rick Boucher is going to lose in VA-9 -- and he was seventieth on Nate Silver's list of most likely GOP pickups.

So, at the moment, based on scattered and incomplete data, it looks like 100 is probably out, 70 is quite possible, and eighty remains doable as well.

As Winston Wolf's gay cousin Wiggy Wolf advised: "Gentlemen -- let's take down our pants."

Yup: Rich Lowry notes we're now grabbing some from the "Leans Democratic" column.

I hope this means almost all toss-ups go our way (which would deliver us around 70), and then we grab like 1/2 the lean Democrats (to get us over 80).

NV: Sharron Angle Says-- V O T E
— Ace

Exit polls (a dubious measure) show the race tied.

If you're in NV, make sure you vote, and vote hard. Harry Reid's union buddies will be discovering voting machines in their car trunks for a week, and you'd better put it well outside the Margin of Fraud.
