New likely voter poll!

52% of LVs believe the U.S. is worse off today than four years ago; only 31% believe the nation is doing better. 54% say Obama does not deserve reelection; only 40% say he does.

I may have missed some others, but this is the first poll I've seen where more respondents thought Romney would win the election (46/43) than thought Obama would.

It's scary to think the Obama's reelection bid and the direction of the country depends on his ability to turn out enough dumb ass college kids to vote for "free" stuff they'll waste the rest of their lives paying for.

It's astonishing that information like this is so perfectly blacked out and suppressed by the, ahem, "Watchdog Media."

President Barack Obama was a pioneering contributor to the national subprime real estate bubble, and roughly half of the 186 African-American clients in his landmark 1995 mortgage discrimination lawsuit against Citibank have since gone bankrupt or received foreclosure notices.

As few as 19 of those 186 clients still own homes with clean credit ratings, following a decade in which Obama and other progressives pushed banks to provide mortgages to poor African Americans.

The startling failure rate among ObamaÂ’s private sector clients was discovered during The Daily CallerÂ’s review of previously unpublished court information from the lawsuit that a young Obama helmed as the lead plaintiffÂ’s attorney.

Since the mortgage bubble burst, some of his former clients are calling for a policy reversal.

“If you see some people don’t make enough money to afford the mortgage, why would you give them a loan?” asked Obama client John Buchanan. “There should be some type of regulation against giving people loans they can’t afford.”

Contract talks are scheduled through Friday, and the union clearly hopes the added pressure of a strike threat leads to a settlement.

But the two sides remain far apart on issues including pay, a new teacher evaluation process and a recall policy for teachers who have been laid off. Union leaders said they're worried the district might try to close as many as 100 schools to save money and to consolidate resources.

In preparation for a possible strike, the district has said it will open 145 schools for a half-day and enlist the city's Park District and libraries in an effort to provide a place for the district's non-charter-school students to go. Charter schools employ teachers who are not CTU members and will stay open if there is a strike.

For the children. This is for the beleaguered children of a bankrupt, failing school system whose unions care deeply about their plight.

We should count our blessings, that Scott Walker has unleashed a firestorm in Wisconsin against these monsters. The waves are slamming against the ramparts of the deeply entrenched, as far away as Chicago. And it's making them a bit jittery.

In many ways "man on the street" interviews are useless but even CNN couldn't spin this for Obama.

As I said earlier, this is just a narrative too far for Obama and the media. People know what's going on with the economy independent of the usual storytellers.

Yesterday various and sundry Obama surrogates chocked on a question they should be ready for...Is the country better off today than it was 4 years ago?

Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley was the worst (from an Obama perspective)/most honest in that he flat out said, "no" but of course, he blamed Bush.

Today Team Obama, including O'Malley, are singing a different tune...Of course we are better off under Obama than anyone could possibly imagine and only a fool can't see it!

But on CNN’s “Early Start” this morning, anchor John Berman elicited a different response from Democratic National Committee spokesman Brad Woodhouse.

“Brad you’ve been shaking your head, as you’ve been sitting off camera, because we’ve been playing all the sound from the last 24 hours of Democrats being asked ‘are you better off today than you were four years ago?’” Berman noted. “So, I’ll give you the chance to ask the question: Are we better off than we were four years ago?”

“Absolutely,” Woodhouse said.

On the Today Show, NBC’s Natalie Morales asked Obama campaign deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter: “Let me begin by starting with that central question on a lot of people’s minds, and that is are we better off today than we were four years ago when President Obama was elected?”

“Absolutely,” Cutter said. “Let me just walk you through what life was like four years ago.”

America is "Absolutely" better off today than it was under Bush. I guess that's their story and they are going to stick with it. Yeah, good luck with that.

Just a reminder, Obama gives his big acceptance speech at "The Stadium That Dare Not Speak Its Name" on Thursday night and on Friday morning August unemployment numbers come out.

As much as we talk about the reality of media bias, this is the kind of thing even the DMM (Democratic Machine Media) can't help Obama with. People understand the reality of the country's situation independent of any political ads or media propaganda. They can try to control the message about who is to blame but not the reality.

The Democrats approach is basically, "Who are you going to believe? Us or your lying eyes?". The Republicans are going to have Cutter and Woodhouse in a lot of comparative ads soon that will reinforce what people already know to be true...we aren't even remotely better off today than four years ago. It's better to be telling people what they know is absolutely true than telling them they are wrong and a little stupid to boot.
