The Morning Report - 4/15/21 [J.J. Sefton]
— Ace Open Blog

Good morning kids. Thursday and the nation formerly known as the United States of America continues slouching towards the gulag and the mass grave with perhaps the rest of the formerly free world not far behind us. It is a bitter irony as well as an indication that hell has frozen over (climate change debunked!) that I find myself in agreement with the crooked, venal degenerate who was installed as commander-in-chief via a stolen election in finally getting us the hell out of Afghanistan. The cynic in me thinks he'll just move them to Syria or some other third world shit-hole where we are hated and that has absolutely zero strategic value or where our national security and interests are advanced. The other thought I had, which is not cynicism but fear based upon events still unfolding, is that the troops will be brought back home to assist in nation-building, or more accurately, nation rebuilding - that is, putting down resistance to the final transformation of the former USA into a socialist rump state protectorate of the People's Republic of China. But I digress.

The other half of that bitter irony is that the party that is supposed to represent conservatism and the real American people represents neither. Joe Biden may be the Senator from MBNA, and now the Pu-Yi of Pooh-Xi, but much of the GOP represents the great states of General Dynamics, Raytheon and Northrop-Grumman. Liz-ard Cheney is in freakout mode that daddy's and her stock portfolios are going to take a hit when the need for more cruise missiles, tanks, and body bags disappears.

"[So-called quote-unquote 'president'] Biden’s decision hands the Taliban and al Qaeda a propaganda victory, abandons our global leadership position, and plays into our adversaries’ hands,” said Cheney, a critic of former President Donald Trump and daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney. Cheney -- along with House Democrat Rep. Jason Crow (CO) -- fought to prevent the Trump Administration from drawing down U.S. forces from Afghanistan, sponsoring legislation to make a drawdown more difficult.

Max Boot, a Never Trumper and champion of the 2003 Iraq War, penned an op-ed in the Washington Post that warned of a fall-of-Saigon scenario. "If Biden pulls out as planned in September absent a binding peace settlement, he will be consigning them to the same fate as our abandoned South Vietnamese allies. The fall of Kabul could be as ugly as the fall of Saigon,” he wrote...

Max Boot's complete stupidity and ignorance is radiant. The people, politics and especially the culture of South Vietnam circa 1965-1975 is nothing like Afghanistan circa 1979-present. Then there's General David Petraeus, who actually gives it away:

Retired Army Gen. David Petraeus, who served as CIA director and commander of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, also slammed the decision. "Ending U.S. involvement in an endless war doesn’t end the endless war. It just ends our involvement. And I fear that this war is going to get worse...”

Did you get that? An endless war without our endless involvement evidently is catastrophic. Mostly to his paymasters' bottom lines. "And it's one, two, three, what are we fighting for? Don't ask me I don't give a damn. Next stop's AFGHANISTAN..." 50 years later and everything is upside down. The generals really are bloodthirsty Jack D. Ripper, Buck Turgidson psychos itching to get our hair mussed, but good. Finally, dig this from fey fraudster Lindsey Graham:

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), one of the Senate’s leading hawks, called the decision "a disaster in the making” and "dumber than dirt.”

"A full withdrawal from Afghanistan is dumber than dirt and devilishly dangerous. President Biden will have, in essence, cancelled an insurance policy against another 9/11,” he said in a statement, pushing for a residual counterterrorism force as an "insurance policy.”

An "insurance policy against another 9/11?!" Aside from the fact that our southern border has been all but erased and that full-on Islamikazes were caught there not two weeks ago, between the Pulse Nightclub, San Bernardino, Fort Hood, Times Square (barely averted) and Calypso Louie's own disciple last week in the Capitol and dozens more, I'd say the odds of another 9/11 attack originating from a cave in Tora Bora or a hookah bar in Kabul are infinitely less likely than one originating in, say, Minneapolis or Dearborn. And yet to even say that is to be branded with the dreaded "Islamophobic" label and blackballed. Meh, it'll become a hate crime punishable by imprisonment in the near future.

Look, Joey Bivalve is obviously not the one making this decision. He's supposedly going to be addressing Congress and he can't even address an envelope. Aside from snarkycism, I wonder what Obama/Jarret is really thinking with this move. Also, considering the Russians are about to invade the Ukraine and China is itching for any pretext to try and grab Taiwan, this withdrawal from the Afghan will soon be forgotten. That is, if the warmongers allow him to actually withdraw the troops. Funny how insubordination at the DoD/JCS was a thing when President in exile Trump was C-in-C. Has it returned?

Speaking of broken clocks being right twice a day:

CNN camera crew members were attacked during a protest where Black Lives Matter supporters gathered outside a police station in Minneapolis on Wednesday evening and were forced to retreat from the scene after repeatedly being assaulted.

"Man part of CNN crew for CNN reporter @miguelmarquez was hit in the head by a protester at the #BLM protest in Brooklyn Center, Minn,” journalist Andy Ngo, who covers far-left extremism, wrote on Twitter. "He falls to the ground from the assault.”...

...During the violent Black Lives Matter riots that rocked the U.S. last summer, far-left extremists attacked CNN’s headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, shattering windows and throwing explosives inside the building as law enforcement officials guarded the lobby...

...On Monday night, a man walked up to a CNN reporter who was covering a riot and unloaded on the network, saying the network twists stories. "What I think about this, it’s all the press and all the extra s*** y’all do, makes this worse,” the man responded. "When people want to protest, they shouldn’t do it in front of a f***in’ police sta–, yeah, court house, s*** like that. You get what the f*** I’m saying? Y’all need to get up out of here with all that twisting that the media and s***.”

The man later dismissed the reporter’s comments that they were on live air, saying, "I don’t care if you’re live or not, get away from here with all that media s*** that y’all doing.”

The schadenfreude is glorious, but alas, I fear, short-lived. If these sub-literate droogs ever were able to put two and two together and not have it add up five with the new "anti-racist" arithmetic, oh boy. Sadly, that is not a strong possibility given the state-run Sportin' Life Media-Culture Complex handing out the poisonous Marxist Kool Aid for decades now. Meanwhile, SCOTUS is about to be packed with four more Ginsburgs, DC the 51st state, and the cop who slaughtered Ashli Babbitt will not be charged while the woman who tragically ended the life of a Minneapolis thug, ditto Derek Chauvin, are going to get railroaded. I'm no special pleader for law enforcement, not these days when for most, preserving their paychecks and pensions trumps morality and ethics. But the aforementioned are just depressing.

Sadly, JJ - and this may be indicative of my own cynicism, contempt and despair - I don't think you're right. The attacks to come are unlikely to originate in places like Minneapolis and Dearborn. They may happen there, but they will originate in Washington, DC at the Hoover building.

You call it out. Pulse. Times Square. San Bernadino. Those were FBI ops. They identified, radicalized and cultivated terrorists on American soil to get a PR win in the "War on Terror." Then they lost control and got people killed. The FBI knew about the Fort Hood shooter. The FBI actively covered up and destroyed evidence when a terror compound was "discovered" (by people other than the FBI, anyway) in New Mexico.

There will be terror attacks in our territory. Some will likely be *very* bad. And unless really compelling evidence to the contrary is immediately available, you can safely assume that the FBI's fingerprints will be all over them. They don't care about America, and they care only about the FBI winning good press coverage. They'll continue to cultivate and enable terrorists in order to "catch" them later - and every time they lose control of their complex schemes, more Americans will die.

49 "Insurance policy against another 9/11"?
Wasn't the stated reason by terrorists for terrorist attacks on the United States that we were meddling in the Middle East?
So it stands to reason and logic that if we stopped meddling in the Middle East, the terrorist attacks would stop.
Thus, the insurance policy against another 9/11 would be to end US involvement in Afghanistan.

54 The withdrawal from Afghanistan - if it even happens - is likely at the behest of Red China. "The Great Game" (the interplay of major powers at the interface in Central Asia) is very much still afoot. We took over from the British. The natives took over from the Soviet Union. China will take over from the natives. We will stay and fight Chinese proxies, or the natives will paradoxically take over from us.

More likely, though, I suspect we'll "withdraw" to Pakistan and turn the way into another generation's worth of border skirmishes. It's how The Great Game is played.

Yes. Las Vegas was *extremely* suspicious. I didn't mention that one because the level of FBI involvement prior to the cover up is completely unknown. The cover up was rapid and complete, though, and this implies that they knew rather a lot in advance (it takes a while to even *find* shit in chaos). Whether they had skin in the game is anyone's guess. It would surprise me not one iota, though.

I am not sure I agree. Korea wasn't a fuck-off war to enrich the MIC. We didn't do well, but the causus belli was appropriate and in response to direct warmaking against treaty allies at the behest of the Soviet Union and with Chinese blood. Vietnam is a shakier case, but I am not at all certain that war started out as a cash and influence play. It became that, however.

89 It's not the fact that we are fighting the war in Afghanistan, it's the way that war has been executed. From ROE's that got brothers killed, to policies which have allowed the Taliban and its benefactors to flourish, that's where the real problem lies. In short, it's not the war, it's the execution.

That said, this type of withdrawal is a huge mistake. It encourages our enemies and will lead to the return of an emboldened Taliban to power. That's not good for our country and only guarantees we will be back in the region fighting them, or a growing coalition of threats that will be consequential to our nation. It's easy to say it's not our problem- until it is an you are picking up pieces of what used to be your countrymen.

I agree with you on the latter point - if we're going to engage in imperial adventurism, we ought to get the spoils of empire out of the deal. (This isn't my preference, by the way. Whatever you can get through empire, you can get more cheaply and with less blood through trade - a lesson taught by, ironically, the British Empire. If you're going to play imperial games, though, then I fully agree that you should win imperial prizes.)
As to the former, however, we got a fair bit more than bases in South Korea. We also ended up with a major industrial power that is aligned on our side (or was - who knows anymore) and acted as a major check on her expansionist neighbors. Was that worth it? I don't know. But we did end up with a lot more than an Oriental "Airstrip One" - though it gets off into the territory of intangibles and down that road lies great peril.

121 Okay, I had to read the "overpopulation" article. PJ Media is borderline useless, but they did at least furnish a link to the source material. It had exactly what I expected to find.
@ClaudiaWebbe wrote:

Richest 1% in UK produce 11 times the carbon emissions of poorest 50%.

Richest 10% of the world’s population produced 52% of all consumption-based greenhouse gas emissions.

Eliminating energy and resource intensive lifestyles of the richest would by far rapidly reduce emissions

Of course. It had to be this, because the real information makes it obvious that if you really care about the environment over all else as the only moral consideration (an insane proposition, but it is what they claim), then you slaughter the poor.

The only way you can make a "kill the rich to save the Earth" argument is if you consider CO2 and *nothing* else. Yeah, developed countries make more CO2. Why? Because they have more energy-efficient power and locomotion. That's it. If you consider *anything* other than that, you have to start asking difficult questions - questions like, "would increased CO2 emissions in India result in net environmental benefit by reducing their dependence on burning biomass fuel - primarily wood and dung?

The answer to that question is, of course, "yes." India's particulate pollution is unreal. So is China's. So is Africa's (though Africa in general is not too bad in comparative terms because their population density is fairly low as compared to Asia). Primitive biomass fuels are a pollution nightmare and far worse than CO2 (assuming that CO2 is even a pollutant in the first place, which it isn't). If you want to improve global average air and water quality, genociding the poor countries is a lot more sensible than genociding the rich ones.

Of course, it isn't about the environment at all and thus this question never gets answered. They just talk casually about genocide as a goal and no one bats an eyelash because they're all monsters.

I don't disagree with the root premise - we have been terrible at theater selection and execution since WWII. But don't know that attributing our philosophical collapse (the real problem that has eaten into and hollowed us out like a cancer) to foreign misadventures is accurate. To some degree it might be - Vietnam provided a nucleus around which the boomer communists could coalesce, for example - but I am by no means sure of it. That same cancer also resulted in the real root cause of constant structural debt: social policy. If you're rich enough (we were), you can afford foreign misadventure. You can *never* be rich enough to afford modern social policy.

You could do the same with crime or illegitimacy or bad education.  You could take about 100 zip codes, eliminate the entire population, and drop the rates of crime or illegitimacy or bad education by 50%.   Try to explain that in polite conversation.

Spot on. Look at some of the cases working their way to SCOTUS already. There is a lot of F-you in those cases because the lower courts stacked with liberals realize SCOTUS is weak and compromised. You are also getting push back from Red States who are essentially writing legislation to protect their populace from unconstitutional fiats and the general apathy of SCOTUS towards the Bill of Rights. Since I don't see any burning cities/villages in Afghanistan we have no need for ground troops there.

We're spending trillions without paying for it and the people who should be getting money won't see a dime.
Yes, pay off all credit card (commercial) debt along with all student debt and all mortgage debt.  This would place stimulus money directly into the hands of the people who will use the money to create businesses and jobs.  Pay for this, plus a 5 trillion dollar infrastructure (actual infrastructure) plan by selling off assets held by the federal government over a 100 year period.
We're already spending trillions in a wasteful manner by just printing money.  This isn't a good plan.

No doubt, but most states are GOP-controlled now. The only reason to vote is at the local level for those amenable to separation at some levels.

See above. I know of several states that are routinely castrating their Blue shitholes.
"Biden" is quite aware of this, hence flooding the border and shipping future voters to hostile states. Legislatures need to move quickly.

Glorifying obesity and calling it "all good" is the issue.  You can be 'fat and happy' and that's fine.  It shouldn't be 'recommended' because it's just not healthy.

Personal choice is just that, personal.  If you choose to be overweight, fine.  Remember, one of the high risk groups from Covid fatalities was obesity.  The ONLY thing promoting being overweight as "THE NEW FIT AND HEALTHY" is fund the pharmaceutical companies even more with their diabetes medicines and other magic pills that "might cause weight loss."

They are trying to blame a lot of the price increases on supply issues- and that it will be temporary. LOL. Some of it may well be supply related, but that is not the fundamental issue. The PMU and energy prices are rising. There are still a lot of unknowns and with inflation creeping in, this is going to get interesting. There are a lot of people disagreeing with me, BTW. They think everything is grand and the Trump trajectory will continue. But they are looking too short term and not accounting for the factors this administration has added. All this pumping of money by Democrats is papering over some fundamental issues. It is why they want it to continue.

How many trannie and gay soldiers, after hearing about POWs being raped and held in bondage, would look forward to being captured?

291 @276 Captain Hate Won't Forget Ashli Babbitt-I loved listening to Levin for years. His take on the people who "stormed" the state building has made me sick. He totally shit the bed on that. We need to have somebody in position to make noise over what has become, what, 300-400 political prisoners? Hard to do when you call the people what they did "disgusting", especially when he himself has made the best argument for them doing what they did. Someone also needs to inform Levin that the left and "right" has cancelled our subscription to the United States constitution.

Tammy Bruce said it best to her listeners:  "there will be times you disagree with me and that's ok.  As conservatives we won't always be on the same page for specifics as long as we adhere to overall conservative principles as the ultimate goal."  Levin is flat out wrongheaded on this and doesn't do himself any favors by digging in his heels.

313 Its good to see the crazy neo-clowns like Cheney, Miss Lindsey, and the others are weeping tears. Oh, there "good friend" Biden is letting them down.  These people always wanted to two things:
1) USA troops in the Middle east 2) Middle-easterners in the USA
Lets fight wars in Afghanistan and Syria, and get millions to move to USA and Europe, cause that will make us safer. LOL!

314 notice how truly upset Cheney, Miss Lindsey, and Mittens are over this. This is what they TRULY care about.  All that stuff about "conservative" judges and getting rid of Obama care? 319 Deep State knows pulling out of Afghanistan is a prime goal of Trump and his supporters, and putting that feather in Biden's bonnet let's them lay claim to the move. Prize there is weakening our opposition. Biden was allowed to announce it which gives wiggle room to change course, as everybody expects Harris to be in charge by then. That wiggle room bought enough support to make a Deep State majority.
And yes, this new format is more like eye balut then eye candy.
