"Mother Peace" Delivering Aid To Whitey-Hatin' Muslim Radical?
— Ace

So it would seem.

The article suggests that they're diverting Red Cross supplies to this racist thug, but I'm not sure that's even close to being substantiated. Mother Peace gets a lot of supplies sent directly to her, after all.

Still, you should know the sort of people Mother Peace is supporting with Americans' largesse.

Cybersex Gone Bad
— Ace

Come on, can't a woman ask for a little hot cyber without some weisenheimer ruining everything?

Funny stuff (Not really safe for work).

When a friend and I first discovered INTERNET, we went to some AOL chatroom called "The Dungeon." See, "The Dungeon." You can imagine the comedic possibilities.

I don't have an actual transcript of the session, but to the best of my recollection, it went like this:

ME: hey, what's up
MARK: wanna talk?
ME: I'm in the Dungeon, what do you think?
MARK: gwm 37
ME: I'm male too
MARK: What race?
ME: elf
ME: I'm 422 years old, just coming into my sexual peak
MARK: Okay...
MARK: Whatever.
MARK: brown hair, brown eyes, with a swimmer's build
ME: I have gray eyes and have well-built arms because I train so much with my Elvish longsword
MARK: how big is your "longsword"?
ME: About three and half feet.
MARK: hahahaha, that's pretty big
ME: I get no complaints
MARK: no complaints from me, lol
ME: It depends if you count the hilt, I never know if I'm supposed to. Is that just cheating?
MARK: I'm taking out my c*ck now...
ME: I'm casting Bigby's Grasping Hand

etc. The scam didn't go on for much longer. He was really trying to, umm, pleasure himself throughout this nonesense, but eventually grew impatient and demanded "What's with all this elf shit?" Then he went away.

Thanks to Lance.

Video: Blanco Admits That Maybe Refusing Federal Troops Was a Not-So-Hot Idea
— Ace

Wonderful.

Time for Part II of the Playbook. As the media's get-Bush agenda is coming apart at the seams, it's time to go to the "they're only blaming Nagin because he's black and Blanco because she's a woman" "storytellin'."

La. Congressmen Uses Precious Federal Resources To Save Valuables From Own Home
— Ace

Yeah, I know it's on Drudge. Stay with me. There's a little bit at the end that makes it worth reading again:

Amid the chaos and confusion that engulfed New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina struck, a congressman used National Guard troops to check on his property and rescue his personal belongings — even while New Orleans residents were trying to get rescued from rooftops, ABC News has learned.

...

ABC News that Jefferson, an eight-term Democratic congressman, asked the National Guard that night to take him on a tour of the flooded portions of his congressional district. A 5-ton military truck and a half dozen military police were dispatched.

Lt. Col. Pete Schneider of the Louisiana National Guard tells ABC News that during the tour, Jefferson asked that the truck take him to his home on Marengo Street, in the affluent uptown neighborhood in his congressional district. According to Schneider, this was not part of Jefferson's initial request.

...

The water reached to the third step of Jefferson's house, a military source familiar with the incident told ABC News, and the vehicle pulled up onto Jefferson's front lawn so he wouldn't have to walk in the water. Jefferson went into the house alone, the source says, while the soldiers waited on the porch for about an hour.

Emphasis mine. I'm buiding to something here.

Finally, according to the source, Jefferson emerged with a laptop computer, three suitcases, and a box about the size of a small refrigerator, which the enlisted men loaded up into the truck.

"I don't think there is any explanation for an elected official using resources for their own personal use, when those resources should be doing search and rescue, or they should be helping with law enforcement in the city," said Jerry Hauer, a homeland security expert and ABC News consultant.

The Louisiana National Guard tells ABC News the truck became stuck as it waited for Jefferson to retrieve his belongings.

...

The soldiers signaled to helicopters in the air for aid. Military sources say a Coast Guard helicopter pilot saw the signal and flew to Jefferson's home. The chopper was already carrying four rescued New Orleans residents at the time.

Okay, at the tail-end of the story, here comes the connecting-up part. Remember that laptop computer?

In an unrelated matter, authorities recently searched Jefferson's property as part of a federal investigation into the finances of a high-tech firm. Last month FBI officials raided Jefferson's house as well as his home in Washington, D.C., his car and his accountant's house.

...

Last week, Jefferson set up a special trust fund for contributions to his legal defense in light of the FBI investigation. A senior federal law enforcement source tells ABC News that investigators are interested in learning if Jefferson moved any materials relevant to the investigation. Jefferson says he did not.

Well, as long as he says so.

Thanks to DB.

Hitchens Debates George Galloway Tonight
— Ace

Tonight's the big debate between Hitch and Galloway.

You can check out the case against Galloway on Hitchens' site, which also has a link to the live webcast feed from the debate.

In a recent Slate column, Hitchens recounts just how vile this traitor -- and yes, he is guilty of treason, though perhaps not in a legal sense -- actually is.

Fawning on dictators, posing and posturing for a state-controlled press in front of a coerced audience, managing to overlook the existence of death squads and torturers, and praising the invasion and occupation of neighboring states—this is the same George Galloway who in 1994 flew to Baghdad and addressed Saddam Hussein in the following terms, commiserating with him on his failure to annex the Arab and Muslim state of Kuwait:

Your Excellency, Mr. President, I greet you in the name of the many thousands of people in Britain who stood against the tide and opposed the war and aggression against Iraq. Â… I salute your courage, your strength, your indefatigability.

Now, you can be a flatterer of dictators and murderers and still—just about—be a pacifist, or "anti-war." But here is what Galloway said about the car bombers and beheaders and suicide fanatics of Iraq, again this July 30 at the Al-Assad Library, as broadcast by Syrian state TV and by Al Jazeera the following day. He informed the Arab world:

Two of your beautiful daughters are in the hands of foreigners—Jerusalem and Baghdad. The foreigners are doing to your daughters as they will. The daughters are crying for help, and the Arab world is silent. Some of them are collaborating with the rape of these two beautiful Arab daughters …

As for the jihadist and Baathist resisters: They "are writing the names of their cities and towns in the stars, with 145 military operations every day."

Change only the name, and this is flat-out Bin-Ladenist hysteria.

Aaron Broussard Lied, His Friend's Mother Died
— Ace

So, in a tearful on-air tirade about the supposedly slow federal response he blames for his a friend's mother's death, Aaaron Broussard claimed that he was talking to the woman on the phone through the Thursday after the storm.

He also claimed that FEMA deliberately cut communication lines, I guess so that more people would die.

Trouble is, the woman died the first Monday of the storm. Broussard lied.

He's a Democrat, and John From Wuzzadem suspects some very nasty political theater, using this dead mother as the leading lady. I think money might be a motivation too-- I'm sure he's thinking about a lot of donations to ease his grief, and possibly even about a 9/11 style payout to the victims of the storm. And he'll be damned if he misses out on any of that bonus-cash for crying on camera.

He must have loved this woman... when the storm of the century was approaching, and he knew she couldn't get out on her own, he cared enough... to make a phone call.

Correction: I wrote that the woman who died was Broussard's mother. Turns out it was the mother of a friend. Thanks to Allah for setting my loose shit straight.

Separated At Birth Update: Are You Conservative? asks if Broussard is Tim Russert's Bill Burkett.

More Scenes From The Roberts Hearing
— Ace

Aww, man, this is some funny f'n' stuff.

Most News Is Made In The Comments Update: So, Dave From Garfield Ridge has a "man-crush" on Powers Boothe.

Hmmmm... I wonder if I'll trot that out the next time he says one of my links is old.

Dave Comes Out Of The Powers Boothe Closet Update: This site is all about the catharsis. Especially when the catharsis involves Daves man-cravings to have he-sex with the villain in Tombstone who wasn't Michael Biehn.

Sen. Cornyn Asks Roberts Question Borrowed From the Blogosphere
— Ace

Congrats to Jim Lindgren of the Volokh Conspiracy for demonstrably influencing the public debate.

But who gives a rat's ass. It's not like I'll be looking for my fat Jim Lindgren check in the mail tomorrow morning.

I'm all about the personal satisfaction.

And I'm taking great personal satisfaction that right now Jonathan Alter, Brian Williams, and Keith Olbermann are cwying wike widdle giwls.

I have a new goal. In ten years, I would like to host VH-1's Hey, Remember the Mainstream Media? My cohost will be Gwen Stafani, as long as she can tone it down and stop being so friggin' weird all the damn time.

When Property Rights Go...
— LauraW.

...all other rights follow.

Well, the eviction notices are out now.

The city of New London, Connecticut decided that they could make more money off non-blighted seaside properties from a developer, than from the original homeowners.

I live in Connecticut. What I find striking is the unanimous hue and cry against this from every political corner. The lefties could not friggin believe that it was THEIR GUYS in the Supreme Court that thought it was a good idea.

Boiled down, it comes to this; the Court decided that the public good under Eminent Domain extends not only for State appropriation of land for public roads, bridges, and such, but also for State appropriation of land to give to private developers.

So, your home is just not as valuable to us as a fancy-pants mini-mall is. You don't own it anymore, here's a check, get out. No, you don't get to negotiate the price of your own property. We're the State. We do as we please.

Lefties, please think twice about trying to keep constructionists out of the Supreme Court. I know you value the document, in your own way. Please keep this in mind. Constructionists, GOOD.
