AP Edits Burnin' Six Response Story -- To Delete Confirmation Of Burned Bodies By Morgue Workers!
— Ace

Wow.

Confederate Yankee noticed the original response to criticism of its "Burning Sunnis" stories was down when linking it for another proposition. So Curt from Flopping Aces checked to see what they had changed when they reposted it.

They simply cut out their original claims of verification by independent sources of the burned bodies, without noting they had done so, or explaining what could have changed.

What the hell is this amateur hour crap? That response, and that independent confirmation, was supposed to buttress its original reporting. Now they simply edit it out without telling us.

I'm putting up the flaming skull. This could just be some kind of glitch, but I doubt it. Someone went in to that story to deliberately remove old reporting on "independent confirmation," so it seems AP is attempting to retract that by stealth deletion.

Second Suspect Arrested In Ipswich Strangler Case
— Ace

Hmm... maybe they're just guessing.

The first guy arrested, Ted Stephens, announced on his webpage that his hero was Hong Kong Phooey, which, oddly enough, I just mentioned three days ago.

Iran's "Reformer" Claim Elections "Decisive Defeat" For A-jad
— Ace

Meh. So the Holocaust Deniers beat the Holocaust Enthusiasts. Not like it's making those Marine Drop Ships or Invisibility Cloaks get here any quicker.

- Iran's biggest reformist party said on Monday President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had suffered a "decisive defeat" in nationwide elections last week due to his government's "authoritarian and inefficient methods."

The government's spokesman countered that by saying the government had no favored candidates in Friday's twin votes for local councils and a powerful clerical body known as the Assembly of Experts and was happy to work with the winners.

Political analysts said the elections, the first since Ahmadinejad's stunning 2005 presidential win, would have no immediate impact on policy in the Islamic state where Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has the last word on all matters.

But a poor showing for allies of the anti-Western president could give a stronger voice to more moderate voices in decision-making in future.

Vote counting in the major battleground Tehran continued for a third day on Monday, prompting government critics to express fears the delay could indicate possible tampering.

The results that have been announced suggest that moderate conservative and reformist candidates had, on the whole, fared better than close allies of Ahmadinejad although no one group could claim outright victory.

Song: "This Christmas, Hug A Muslim"
— Ace

Zooming up the YouTube charts, and as of yet YouTube has taken no action against it.

The song was written and performed by a (shock!) British "journalist."

So once again we have a journalist stating straight-up the greatest problem we face is "Islamophobia."

Oh, yeah: The song claims that terrorism will never be a greater threat than materialism and greed, and that we needn't fear terrorists because "the Baby Boomers got there [i.e., destroyed the world] first."

Shakespeare had it wrong. First, kill all the reporters.

I'm not saying let lawyers off the hook. I'm just saying -- prioritize.

German Scientists Win Grant To Develop Invisibility Cloaks
— Ace

Well, not quite. They've got a grant to research negative light refraction indexes, which could lead to stuff like seeing the stars more clearly with telescopes and gay shit like that, and, more importantly, cloaks of invisbility.

Greg Gutfeld (Dubious) Claim: Liberal Celebrities Will Organaize Big "March To Mecca" For Gay Rights In the Islamic World
— Ace

I'm pretty damn sure he's goofing.

This is the sort of joke that's going to get people like Whoopie Goldberg and Rosie O'Donnell stoned to death.

Whether that makes it entirely unfunny, or adds to the humor value, is up to you.

Be sure to check out the, uhh, webpage for the event.

Thanks to RayF.

Update On Jamil "Hussein" From Winds of Change
— Ace

Not sure how to headline this one.

Based on a post of Michelle Malkin's, which is now retracted, Danzinger says there is no "Capt. Jamil Hussein" but there is a Capt. Jamil Ghadaab who says he was the source for the AP's stories?

I don't know what it means.

Does the post still stand given Malkin's retraction?

YouTube Shuts Down "Open Season"
— Ace

Stuck Mojo, an Atlanta-based heavy-metal/rap act, put out an anti-jihad song. It got a lot of views on YouTube, so YouTube, predictably, banned it from receiving "Honors" (whatever they are) that would make it appear more prominently on the site.

The background can be found in links at HotAir. The guitarist explains what the song's all about on his website; basically, it's about the fact that violent jihad threatens us. Not terribly controversial.

Except for YouTube's admins.

Rapcore or whatever they call it may not be your cup of tea, and there is some m-f'er profanity (and disturbing images of jihadi violence). Plus, there's a brown person fronting the group, which is the most terrifying thing of all.

Still, when you get a chance, click on it, if only to support the band and embarrass YouTube by making the video zoom up its charts while the attempt to block it from further viewing.

Artists stroke themselves silly over their "brave" stances, and yet this is just about the first video challenging violent jihadism, isn't it?

So much for the bravery of most artists.
