— Ace ...on the site of an old bus-stop. Guess there's something just conducive in the site to anonymous sex.
Fleck's grand adventures haven't avoided controversy. Some view bathhouses as little more than legalized brothels. Many were shut down in the '80s, with the explosion of AIDS. And they remain the targets of conservatives, health officials, and others who blame them for spreading sexually transmitted diseases. In Atlanta, after he was denied his spa and liquor licenses, Fleck battled the city all the way to the Georgia Supreme Court. New Orleans also tried to deny his spa license, unsuccessfully arguing that he was running a sex club. He's still in court in Phoenix, where he was accused of running an illegal entertainment venue.
But industry veterans say that no one promotes safe sex better than bathhouses. Most clubs, including Fleck's, offer health screenings, literature on STDs, and boatloads of free condoms. "I'll show you my condom bill sometime," Fleck says. "I buy more condoms than anyone."
Oh... well! Condoms and pamphets about STDs, you say? That ought to solve the problem lickety-split.
Thanks to Craig.
He found this, not me.

— Ace Check out this report. CAPITALIZATIONS IN ORIGINAL.
So far, Kennedy HAS NOT been charged. The congressman released a statement Thursday night saying alcohol was NOT involved.
When's the last time you saw a news organization resort to CAPITALS -- the junior-high joural-blogger's BEST FRIEND -- to make a point?
They're really trying to sell it, aren't they?
I don't remember reports about Dick Cheney's shooting containing disclaimers that he HAS NOT BEEN charged and that he stated that alcohol WAS NOT involved in the mishap.
But the ol' Kennedy magic just ain't what it used to be:
The Capitol Hill Fraternal Order of Police is calling for higher-ups in the department to allow patrol officers to complete their investigation. The head of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 1, Lou Cannon, told 9 News that he’s concerned that Kennedy may have received special treatment and this could be a case where “rank has its privilege.”
Capitol police Officer Greg Baird wrote a letter to acting Chief Christopher McGaffin saying how the investigation was handled calls the department's integrity into question.
Points:
Even though the police were prevented by higher-ups from conducting field sobriety tests, they can still testify as to their expert opinion on Kennedy's intoxication at trial.
Cover-ups only work if people cooperate. If they don't-- as they're not, here -- it's a major, major problem. The lower-level cops are no longer in danger of losing their jobs. Now their higher-ups are in great danger of just that.
As a commenter snarked, we perhaps should give Kennedy a break. After all, the MSM is already hounding him over the $68,000 he took from Jack Abramoff and refused to give back.
Oh, by the way:
That WAS NOT seriously meant.

— Tanker Even the Germans think they are Anti-American!
It seems that the Nazis and Vichy got together recently to write a new textbook on history starting right after the end of WWII.
Apparently they were able to easily come to agreement on everything in the last 60 years, except for one thing. You guessed it - good old Uncle Sam.
Paradoxically it was not World War II which provided the main topic of debate, but the US role in the world since 1945, the newspaper said.It quoted Guillaume Le Quintrec, co-director of the project, who said "the French found the Germans to be pro-American and the Germans found our viewpoint anti-American".
Heated discussions, in which each word was carefully considered, resulted in a text which both sides judged to be "balanced".
Oh, there was one other little bone of contention. Froggy felt that Fritz was a tad too harsh in criticizing the "former people's democracies in Central Europe." Or as we like to say on Planet Earth, the totalitarian communist dictatorships which were liberated in 1989 thanks to the presence of American and British troops (not French) in western Europe since those countries were liberated by American and British troops (not French.)
One last thing. The project was initiated by Jacques ChIraq, who was responsible for building a nuclear bomb factory for Saddam Hussein. And Gerhard Schroeder, who after getting kicked out of office, took a job for 250,000 Euros a year as Vladimir Putin's personal whore.

A FoxNews report on the Keystone Killer's weapon mastery.
Plus, complaints from jihadists that American losses in Baghdad are "hardly worth mentioning," and that there doesn't seem to be a "well-knit" plan for success.
In other words, Al Qaeda fears it may be stuck in a quagmire.

— Ace Shocking.
A sentence containing the words Kennedy, drunk, vehicle mishap, and police cover-up is pure gibberish making no earthly sense whatsoever.
Correcting my prior mention, he didn't hit the cop cruiser, he narrowly missed it, then smashed into a security barricade.
Sergeants with the Capitol Police prevented the first cops on scene from conducting field sobriety tests and then ordered everyone to leave the scene-- preventing them from collecting evidence of intoxication.
Then they gave the son-of-a-bitch a ride home.
Bonus Detail! As he staggered drunkenly out of the wreckage, he told the police he was "late for a vote" in Congress.
It was 2:45 AM.

— Ace Separating the heroes from the zeroes, and the zeroes from Trent Lott.
I think they should just put Tom Coburn and Trent Lott in a dark pit and lock the tophatch for four hours.
Whatever happens, happens. No questions, and no one ever mentions it again. If there should happen to be a dead body, just carve it up and bury it in quicklime.
I have a feeling the anti-pork agenda would be advanced.
I don't see Trent Lott, Cheerleader and Soft-Handed Femme-Man, coming out of the pit on his feet.

— Ace Wow.
Dr. Shannon Odelberg, University of Utah Neurobiology: "DARPA has been known to fund very large research projects with lofty goals, and I think this is one of those projects."Dr. Shannon Oldelberg and his colleagues at the University of Utah will join five other universities under the umbrella of the University of Pittsburgh's McGowan Institute of Regenerative Medicine to see if what DARPA wants really can be done.
For example, a little newt can regenerate a lot of body parts in only two months time -- a tail, a leg, jaws, an eye, to name a few. But the big question, can you translate what this little animal can do into a human?
Susan Bryant and David Gardiner at the University of California at Irvine photographed actual newt regeneration. With regeneration in an adult human, that's lost a limb. the cells found in the newt are not available, so they have to be created through some process. DARPA is asking the research group to do just that, create a pool of special cells called a blastema.
Dr. Odelberg: "They're progenitor cells, like stem cells that give rise to a structure. And so what DARPA would like us to do is to generate a pool of these cells in an animal that can not normally regenerate."
That's the big leap that may or may not happen. But DARPA is willing to risk more than 3-million dollars to find out.
The team will try to improve on the work of limb-regeneration pioneer Dr. Kurt Connors.*
* Not really.

— Ace The BBC, alas, is the most trusted worldwide, and Al Jazeera most trusted in the lunatic asylum called the Islamic world:
One-quarter of consumers abandoned a news source over the past year because they lost trust in its reporting, according to a new survey that also found the BBC, Fox News and Al Jazeera the most trusted brands in their respective home regions....
"The jury is still out on blogs," he added. "Just as many people distrust them as trust them."
The survey confirmed that media consumption is shifting online for younger generations, as 19 percent of those aged 18 to 24 named the Internet as their most important source of news compared with 9 percent overall.
...
Asked to name the news source they most trusted, without any prompting, 59 percent of Egyptians said Al Jazeera, 52 percent of Brazilians said Rede Globo, 32 percent of Britons said the BBC, 22 percent of Germans said ARD and 11 percent of Americans said Fox News, each leading their respective nations.
CNN is the second-most trusted source worldwide.
So it makes CNN to play to their core audience -- anti-American, anti-Jew, largely ignorant, and proud of it.
