Had Enough?
— Ace

Allah jam-packs a post with info, as usual, all worth reading, but this is what I'm quoting.

Melanie Phillips, author of Londonistan, was interviewed by MSNBC (link at Allah's place), but is largely being ignored by the Western Media.

What should Britain do to combat the threat of terror?

Well, itÂ’s obviously a good thing that last weekÂ’s plot was uncovered, and all credit to the authorities for that. But we need to do more than just defeat plots and break up cells. We need to target the people who incite them. We should say that we respect Islam as a religion, and we respect peoplesÂ’ right to practice it, but if that practice and preaching includes things like hatred for the West, incitement to violence, anti-Semitism, etc, then we wonÂ’t stand for it. We will prosecute people, get rid of them, and throw them out of the country. ItÂ’s not Islamophobia to say this.

Why arenÂ’t moderate Muslims getting more attention?

It’s a good question. Truly moderate Muslims are, I think, in fear for their lives, literally, if they speak out in public. Our government hasn’t supported them, hasn’t given them money and worked with them to make sure they are heard. In fact, the whole definition of “moderate” has become skewed. Officials think that a “moderate” is someone who is not committed to mass murder. We’re pathetically grateful just for that. But a lot of people who are called moderates still believe in things like an international Jewish conspiracy, or the idea that the CIA was behind 9/11, or that sort of rubbish. These people may not be violent themselves, but they are the sea in which those who are violent swim–they make the violence possible.

No one likes to talk of such things. We consider it anti-American.

But even more anti-American is allowing ourselves to be butchered by a population riddled with killers and saboteurs plotting treason and mass-murder every hour of the day, as well as their moral support system that encourages them.

There is too much equivocation about terrorism. There is too much protection of hate-preachers and actual terrorists. There is too much coordination with the terrorists' message of the day. There is too much support, active support or the sorter sort of moral support, for the terrorists in Muslim communities.

You guys had better get your shit under control, pronto. Because the American Street is growing very angry indeed.

You wouldn't like the American Street when it's angry.

Do you not realize that, due to our compassion, openness, and commitment to tolerance, we have lost more than 3000 lives, spent billions on security measures and unprecendentedly humane military interventions, seen hell wreaked on our economy, and have seen our lives disrupted and inconvenienced and just made generally poorer overall?

At what point do you think the limits of compassion, openness, and commitment to tolerance are reached? Do you imagine our virture -- or weakness, as you would have it -- in this regard is infinite?

Do you not comprehend that at some point the majority of the American, British, Australian, etc. people aren't going to realize their lives could be better and safer were it not for the expensive and dangerous presence of a great many Muslims on their soil? Muslims who seem to place a greater value on loyalty to their correligionists than they do to loyalty to their ostensible country of citizenship, or even to the basic human value that human life shall not be snuffed out maliciously?

When do you imagine the paradigm shifts from "deport only those found beyond all reasonable doubt to be supporters of terrorism" to "deport any and all you legally can, because we are just tired of living in the shadow of death"?

This country stamped out the KKK. It will take less to stamp out the Islamic KKK, because half of the recently-minted Islamic "citizens" in Britain and even America will be found to have, if we look carefully enough (and we will begin looking carefully, very soon) irregularities and small misrepresentations on their visas and citizenship applications that will serve nicely as a pretext for large-scale revocations of citizenship and deportation back to their home hellholes.

Get your vile, racist, hateful, murder-porn culture under control, or we are going to eventually use every legal pretext possible to de-export it back to the shitholes you come from, and quarrantine your vicious madness there.

A commitment to tolerance cannot be stretched to become a suicide pact.

We don't want to do anything like that. Even I, at my most disgusted with Muslim political pornography, still hold out hope for sanity to return to the Muslim population.

But this has to stop. Now.

Stop peddling hate and murder-porn, stop protecting jihadists.

On simple economic grounds every new Muslim immigrant or visitor is a net losing proposition for America -- and any other Western country. Due to the increased chance of terrorism and the massively costly security measures we now have to implement, every single new Muslim immigrant or visitor to this or any other Western country makes that country poorer.

Is every Muslim a terrorist or terrorist supporter? Of course not. But enough of them are, and too few Muslims are willing to expose them, that any group of Muslims will contain one or more potential terrorists, and, because of that, every new Muslim in America makes it poorer in both actual wealth and quality of life.

The first step is a complete halt to further Islamic immigration and visitation to the US. And that will come.

Unless Muslims themselves walk back from the edge of the abyss they themselves have created.

PS, although I've usually been careful to use the preferred term "Islamofascist" as most "resepctable" commentators do, with the occasional sloppy slip-up, as a means of distinguishing peaceful, loyal Muslims from the terrorists--

I'm dropping that practice, as of today. Until the Muslim community can demonstrate it is, in word and deed, as opposed to the slaughter of its fellow citizens as true citizenship in the UK, US, Australia, etc., demand, I'm not pretending we have an "Islamofascist" problem anymore. What we have is a Muslim problem.

If the Muslim community wanted to eliminate terrorism, it could do so within a month.

As it's not part of the solution, it's part of the problem, and it's time to judge it as such.

Related: Via Allah as well, Ralph Peters is questioning continuing to fight the Muslims using Western rules of war.

Do CAIR and the like not really represent the majority of Muslims? I wish it were the case. By all means, do suprise me and begin truly moderate organizations that seek to combat this murder-inciting xenopathy.

I still hold out hope, however slight, that the viral madness that has infected so many Muslims can be cured before something horrible happens -- before we do something horrible (or at least something we'd rather not do), or until the Muslim terrorists do something else horrible, a repeat of 9/11 or worse, in which case all this "compassion, openness, and commitment to tolerance" goes right out the window.

Very few people are willing to live poorer lives than they could simply to reach out a hand of amity to a community who responds to such gestures by encouraging, inciting, sheltering, and even assisting mass-murderers.

Gillerman: "This Is Lebanon's Last Chance"
— Ace

A hopeful quote from Dan Gillerman, just heard on Cavuto.

This is why I hold out hope. It's not as if Israel has given too much away. It's not as if they can't re-invade.

And as far as giving up ground already won-- who cares? The whole point in hunting terrorists is to actually get what you want, a direct confrontation with them. Frankly, if Israel just had to battle over the same exact hill six thousand times, each time Hezbollah agents coming out from hiding to fight them, it would be a great victory for Israel. So what if you just keep capturing the hill? The hill isn't really you're objective; the hill isn't shooting missiles at you.

Your objective is to kill as many of these savages as possible.

And as for the paper piece of shit the UNSC passed -- well, jeepers, seems to me there are a lot of UNSC resolutions "demanding" that Israel do this or do that. It's not like they can't ignore one more preposterous resolution.

I just hope they mean it.

And I suspect they do. Olmert lost his nerve and gambled on peace with a Muslim, which is slightly more stupid than gambling with a Sicilian when death is on the line.

He's hoping for the best.

He won't get it.

But I don't see how any PM can fail to respond to further attacks, this time full-out and without so much worry about collateral damages, when his nation is under attack and 80% of the country has war-fever.

Still: for the moment, it's a loss.

But only for the moment.

"Three Texas Men" Suspected In Planned Attack On Bridge
— Ace

Makin' their waaayyy... the only way they know how... That's just a little bit more than the Sedition Act will allow...

Federal authorities helped with the investigation into a possible terror threat to the Mackinac Bridge. The FBI office in Detroit worked with local law enforcement authorities before the police arrested three men in Caro on Friday. Officers found about 1,000 pre-paid cell phones in their van. Police in Caro arrested the three Palestinian-American men after they allegedly bought 80 of the phones at a Wal-Mart store in Caro.

A pre-paid cell phone can be economical and convenient. But, 22 year old Adham Othman, 23 year old Louai Othman, and 19 year old Maruwan Muhareb aroused suspicion when they allegedly bought 80 phones at the same time. Caro Police Chief Ben Page said they thought “something was wrong here."

When police pulled the men over, they found about 1,000 phones in the van. Many were separated from their battery packs and the chargers were discarded. Michigan State Police Trooper Patrick Sharkey says, “We didn't know exactly what was going on. You hear on the news about these phones being used to detonate IED's."

Tuscola County Prosecutor Mark Reene says, “There were a thousand cell phones that were inside one motor vehicle. There's a laptop computer. There's a camera and there are things that are still being investigated at this point in time. Based on information received from a variety of agencies, we're developing how the actual headphones were sold, revenue was passed from one location to the next. Obviously, it's fairly complex." He thinks the men had a complex plan to attack the Mackinac Bridge.

However, the men, who are from Texas, say they simply purchase the cell phones, and resell them for more money. Louai Othman's wife Lina Odeh says he was simply trying to support her and their two-month old daughter. Odeh says, “Their goal in Michigan was to buy as many phones as they could so they could make a profit over here."

Hmmm... sell phones with key components (charger, SIM card, battery) removed for more money than they cost retail. Sounds like a hell of a business model to me.

1) Buy at retail, not wholesale, or even discounted, prices.

2) Strip out phones of key components usually thought necessary for ordinary use of the phones.

3) Travel to terrorist-friendly Michigan and sell these phones for a greater mark-up than retail.

4) Profit.

The men allegedly traveled to several states to buy pre-paid cell phones, despite policies at many stores limiting purchases to two or three phones at a time. Police in Wisconsin say these three men also bought phones in their state. A clerk who helped them says she suspected something fishy. Barb Bessert, a clerk at a Dollar General store, says, “When they buy more than a couple. Because they are 20 dollars apiece. So, that's like 80 bucks. But, they don't buy the minutes for it. Just the phone."

But, Othman's wife says this is a common business, and her husband is only being targeted because of his nationality. Odeh says, “There's nothing wrong with it. I don't know why they're making a big deal out of it. Are ya'll making a big deal out of this because all the Arabs are doing it?"

Yeah, that must be it. They got busted on a trumped-up LUI (Living Under Islam) charge.

I like the fact she threw in a "y'all" to sell the Texas Wife of a Texas Man thing, and that she apparently didn't say it right, requiring the reporter to render it as "ya'll."

Adham Abdelhamid "Billy Ray" Othman,
aka "Houston Sweet" Othman

Maruan Awad Muhareb,
aka "Cactus Jack" Muhareb,
aka"Deuce-In-The-Hole" Muhareb,
aka "I swear upon Mighty Allah, I mean,
upon Daniel Boone, I have seen every episode
of Walker, Texas Ranger ever made,
and have the Criterion Collection DVD of
Lone Wolf McQaid (pbuh) as well" Muhareb

Fox News Reporter Steve Centanni & Unnamed Cameraman Kidnapped In Gaza
— Ace

Two Fox News employees apparently were kidnapped Monday in Gaza, according to Fox News' Jerusalem bureau.

That's from CNN, oddly enough. I don't see it on the FoxNews site yet.

I guess the MSM is right -- telling the truth about terrorists can be dangerous.

Better to lie and shill for Hamas and Hezbollah.

Update: IreneFingIrene reports it was reporter Steve Centanni and an unnamed camera man.

Disgustingly, they're sniggling up a storm about this at Democratic Underground.

Thanks to JackStraw for that, who wants to know if we can now question their patriotism.

I would say the answer is a hesitant, qualified "Fuck yeah."

Thanks to Larwyn.

adapted from an old Lawrence Welk Joke...hahahaha

Also a lot of wishing it turns out to be this evil Fox contributor or that one, and the sums-it-all-up message:

Who should I root for? [n/t]

That's kind of been the left's dilemma for five years, hasn't it?

BTW... I imagine that FoxNews is quiet about this because they're negotiating for the man's release. Standard K&R.

But the DUmmies will of course howl about "negotiating with terrorists."

That's US policy, not anyone's corporate policy. I imagine FoxNews, and most organizations, promise to pay up to a certain amount in ransom if their employees are kidnapped.

Anyway, just a preview of the coming idiocy.

Fauxtography Update: A View To A Picture Kill
— Ace

Another Picture Kill. It looks like Reuters had to change the misleading captions. A girl simply underwent "routine surgery," as the captions say now.

The American Turk blog says the photos' original captions read:

Aya, who is 18 months old, cries in the Hariri hospital in Beirut after she was injured in an Israeli air raid in the southern city of Tyre July 24, 2006. The girl has a broken pelvis. REUTERS/Yannis Behrakis

Michelle has more.

Allah continues questioning a spate of photgraphs of cars supposedly hit by Israeli missiles, yet looking suspiciously as if they just had their roofs beaten in with a sledgehammer.

Confederate Yankee wants to know why there's no "rescuers" in this photo assisting this "injured woman," or why the photographer -- apparently the only other person on the scene -- isn't lending her aid. Except, perhaps, for directorial advice.

Thanks to IreneFingIrene... for putting me some information about the original captions (now included in the post).

Astronomers Conspire To Steal Pluto's Status As Planet
— Ace

Under New Definitions, Pluto Will Likely Be Downgraded To A Mere "Trans-Neputunian Object," Whereas 14 Other Bodies Will Become "Planets"

Goodbye, Pluto; Hello, Object 2003 UB313:

Pluto may no longer be classified as a planet following a debate by astronomers at the International Astronomical Union.

Roughly 3,000 astronomers and scientists are meeting in Prague this week for the union and are expected to determine whether Pluto is a planet under newly defined terms.

The planet, which was first discovered in 1930 and is the farthest away from the sun, is considerably smaller than the other eight planets in our solar system.

By defining exactly what a planet is, scientists could be forced to downgrade Pluto's status and promote 14 other bodies.

Larger bodies than Pluto have been discovered at the edge of the solar system, including a rocky object known officially as 2003 UB313 that was identified by Professor Mike Brown at the California Institute of Technology.

The object has been measured by the Hubble space telescope as having a diameter of 1,490 miles, beating Pluto's diameter by roughly 70 miles.

...

"Pluto is not worthy of being called just a plain planet," said Alan Boss, an astrophysicist at the Carnegie Institution in Washington, DC.

"But it's perfectly fine as an ice dwarf planet or a historical planet."

And who's behind this crafty attempt to strip Pluto of its historical status as the plucky little period at the end of the solar sentence?

That's right. You Know Who. Probably so they could sell us more styrofoam balls and paint when we have to re-do all of our old second-grade shoebox dioramas.

Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Object 2003 UB313... great. It just flows.

Thanks to George.

Dr. Michael Brown seems a bit Creativity Impaired. UB313? jeesh.

Lebanon Balks At Disarming Hezbollah, Or Even Sending Troops To The South
— Ace

Well, I figured there was a low probability of success here, but I didn't imagine Lebanon would refuse to comply before the ceasefire was even in effect.

Powerline has more, calling the news "grim."

The ceasefire did not address the subject of the kidnapped soldiers. So there's this:

The Haaretz newspaper reported the government was willing to discuss a possible release of Lebanese prisoners in exchange for the freeing of the two captured Israeli soldiers.

What? Then... what was this all for?

Another quote:

The officials said the working assumption at the Prime Minister's Office was that Hizbullah would not honor the agreement and that the world would then comprehend Israel's predicament more than ever. At press time, the Lebanese cabinet had not given final approval to the cease-fire.

"When Hizbullah violates the cease-fire, the world will see who the aggressor is and will understand us," a source close to Olmert said.

I thought there was some minor benefit to be had there, but it's not like Europe or the UN is suddenly going to side with Israel, simply because it's abiding by truces and not murdering innocent people. That strategy hasn't worked for 60 years; it's not going to work now.

I thought that at least Lebanon would attempt some kind of action against Hezbollah, if only to prevent further Israeil strikes.

It won't. The terrorists are too strong and too popular.

And so it goes in the Muslim world.

It's about time we simply admitted: We are talking about a "few bad apples" the same way Nazi Germany was a "few bad apples." Muslim xenopathic hatred is endemic. It consumes a majority of Muslims, 50 or 60 or 70 percent or more.

And they will not stop until they are decimated militarily or we are dead.

I was wrong. I believed, for once, Muslims might actually choose peace.

I don't know if I'll be making that mistake again anytime soon.

Related: Another futile call to Muslims to abandon terrorism:

WHEN will the Muslims of Britain stand up to be counted?

When will they declare, loud and clear, with no qualifications or quibbles about Britain's foreign policy, that Islamic terrorism is WRONG?

Most of all, when will the Muslim community in this country accept an absolute, undeniable, total truth: that Islamic terrorism is THEIR problem? THEY own it. And it is THEIR duty to face it and eradicate it.

To stop the denial, endless fudging and constant wailing that somehow it is everyone else's problem and, if Islamic terrorism exists at all, they are somehow the main victims.

When?

How's a few months after the apocalypse grab you? Is that convenient?

Monday Morning Catch-Up: The Big Story That Broke Saturday
— Ace

Because about half the readers here don't read on the weekends, because they figure the best time to jerk around on the internet is on the boss' dime (and I think they have a point), I'll relink the huge, flaming-skull story that broke Saturday night.

A photographer named Bryan Denton, whose work has appeared in the NYT, posted on a professional-photographer's forum something remarkable. He wrote that, while in Lebanon, he personally witnessed Lebanese digging up dead bodies already in graves for presentation to the media as fresh victims. And, while Denton walked away from such obviously-sham photo opportunities, he says that the Lebanese stringer photographers were lining up behind him to snap pictures.

And while I'm relinking, I'll note this post about the media's post-Katrina promise to stop simply reporting unverified claims and rumors as actual verified news. Which they seem to have forgotten about in their Lebanese reportage.

There's a contest attached to the post-- write your own unverified propgandistic claim for either side in the war, and I will, as MSNBC does, simply publish the juciest ones without any fact-checking. Just straight from your fevered imaginings to the me and then out to the world, via the multiple levels of painstaking editorial fact-checking of the Acewire News Service.

I figure today will be the last day of the contest.

Oh-- and I guess today is the end of the Donation Drive. Thanks to everyone who donated (yes-- thank yous are coming!), and, if you want to slide me a five-spot or, I don't know, a thirty-five-hundred-spot, you can hit the PayPay or Amazon Honor System buttons on the left sidebar.
