Of Course: California Moves to Bar Boy Scouts From Serving as Judges, Due to Boy Scouts' Private Organizational Beliefs on Gay Scoutleaders

Fascism is forever descending upon the rightwing but landing upon the left.*

In a move with major legal implications, The California Supreme Court Advisory Committee on The Code of Judicial Ethics has proposed to classify the Boy Scouts as practicing “invidious discrimination” against gays, which would end the group’s exemption to anti-discriminatory ethics rules and would prohibit judges from being affiliated with the group.

“The Committee’s invitation ignores the fact that the change also encompasses other youth organizations whose membership is limited on the basis of gender, e.g., the Girl Scouts, as well as the military, which continues to practice ‘discrimination’ on the basis of gender,” wrote Catherine Short, legal director of the pro-life group Life Legal Defense Foundation, in a letter to the Committee obtained by TheDC that predicts possible implications for pro-life judges in the future.

“Perhaps this is not an unintended consequence,” wrote Short.

Perhaps we should just make it official that, in order to qualify for a paying job of any kind, one must submit proofs that one has voted Democratic at least 75% of the time.

* Just in case people don't know this quote: The original quote is, "Fascism is forever descending upon America but landing in Europe." The idea is that while people are forever shouting that fascism is coming to America -- because they view America as crude and susceptible to that sort of thing -- they completely miss the fact that genuine fascism convulses Europe frequently.

Similarly, many on the left -- or those who consider themselves the "center," but who are really on the left -- are always worrying about the fascist impulse in rightwing politics. Conveniently missing their own fascist impulses.

Strange thing: I was initially leaning towards the legalization of gay marriage when this whole controversy started up. I didn't think it was a big priority given the other problems the country faces, and also thought that giving gay people a monogamous model to follow would serve good purpose. And then, of course, there were other things to consider, like inheritance issues and family standing when it came to next of kin decisions and power of attorney, etc.

 

I've changed my mind  (not that it matters now). I didn't realize 'gay marriage' was code for 'persecute the shit out of everyone who disagrees with the Left on this or any other issue'.

We are raising an entire generation to believe they are gay or bisexual at a time when they are struggling with sexual attraction and trying to manage it. Instead of having to work through the inevitable problems puberty and learning the social skills that encompass dating and dealing appropriately with the opposite sex, the gay agenda has made being gay the easy way out, IMO. NO ONE will criticize you , everyone will coddle you. Nothing will be expected of your behavior, because you are gay. No responsibility for your actions, because being gay means you are special yet just like everyone else.

So, um, yeah, putting the Boy Scouts on a college application? While the competition are going to these extraordinary lengths? That's a bit like bringing a knife to a gunfight. Not even that. It's like bringing a knife to a tactical nuke fight. You're so far outclassed by the competition it's not even funny.

One of the Wayans brothers did something similar.  I can't remember which one it was, but it was a (short-lived) sitcom with him working as an undercover cop.  I caught the end of one episode in which he, a record producer, and the record producer's secretary all try and bust each other before realizing that they're all LEOs.  Then to add to matters, he'd apparently started dating the producer's secretary, and after the bust it turned out that both he and the secretary had been lying about their likes and dislikes in order to aid their covers.

But on the other hand, I think what gave the gay marriage movement some wind behind its sails was the fact that there was the appearance of oppression. In other words, people who opposed gay marriage looked like busy bodies trying to interfere in the private lives of others. As a Republican with libertarian leanings, I was sympathetic to that. More to the point, the fact that somebody chooses to live their life with someone of the same sex seemed to be no business of mine. Each to their own -- as long as you don't bug me, I won't bug you. In my own state of NC, I actually did not vote for or against the gay marriage amendment -- personally, I did not have strong feelings one way or the other. Though the sanctimoniousness of the gay marriage supporters was off-putting. But, the gay marriage movement is starting to lose its "victim" card and instead is deciding to become oppressive. I may not fight to prevent gay marriage, but I will fight like hell against people who make it a crime or a sanctionable offense to oppose gay marriage.

it has always been a feature of homosexuality from the beginning of times mature man with adolescent boy. Frankly you do not become a middle aged homosexual to do some ass play with Barney Frank. Of course the target is young boys. They have the advantage to be youthful and disease free and willing to engage in anything to have a shot at the entertainment industry or easy money.

 

The number of boys with daddy issues is very high considering how fatherhood has been criminalized thanks to the very people who are promoting ghey marriage (see a pattern here?) therefore a 17yo might be really willing to be sodomized by Bryan Singer of whatever that name is because he thinks this can help him find his long lost dad or his masculinity.
