— Ace ...of you guys, for taking this nice Olympia Peace & Justice Society (read: hardcore leftists and America-haters) calender and adding to it so perfectly.
Hey, Entropy: Lay off on the Lemon Party links, man. Keep it safe to share with others. Warning: Click any links with extreme caution. The text is all fine, but some of the links lead to... places you don't wanna go, baby.
One of my favorite new events -- "Unmask Batman" -- seems to be missing now.
I know -- this is old. LauraW just linked it. I don't even know about things on my own blog until they're old. That's just the way I roll.
If It Doesn't Load: Down a few posts is LauraW's post on this, which contains a screencap of the calender as it appeared earlier. It's more filled up now, but the copy give you the flavor of the thing.
"Unicorn Hunt." Heh.
Update (Slublog) Here's a newer screencap, courtesy of Ranba Ral.
Why We Prank [Ace]: These cocksuckers are pouring concrete on railroad tracks to prevent the military from moving men and materiel, which could, you know, kill someone.
Another tipster told me they were dumping garbage in the streets to keep military vehicles from moving.
I guess the Lemon Party links are warranted. Just don't you guys click on any of the links on the calender.
UPDATE2 [Dave in Texas]: As of right now, 1:40pm CST, the calendar site seems to be responding ok.
Have fun ladies.

— Ace What could possibly go wrong, apart from the horrifyingly obvious?
A convicted pedophile sentenced to do community service in a German kindergarten will return to court next week to face charges of abusing two children there, a regional prosecutor's office said Thursday. The man was allowed to work as a janitor at the Evangelical Kindergarten St Petri in Melle, near the northern city of Osnabrueck, because a court worker missed three prior pedophilia convictions on his record, said Alexander Retemeyer, spokesman for the Osnabrueck prosecutor's office.
The man, identified only as A.B., had been sentenced to 720 hours of community service earlier this year for working on the sly while collecting welfare payments.
"The colleague didn't pay attention and didn't see he had a sexual conviction, so she allowed him to serve in a kindergarten," Retemeyer said. "She didn't read the file."
At least it was an oversight -- and not official German policy -- to sentence pedophiles to working around kindergartners.

— Ace That nation? Mexico.
And the "enacts" in the headline is misleading; it's an old law.
Thanks to CJ.

— Ace Swedish women go topless to champion their right to... go topless.
A group of Swedish female activists is campaigning for women to be allowed to go topless in the country's swimming pools.UPI mentions The Local reporting Tuesday the group, calling itself Bara Brost (Bare Breasts or Just Breasts), launched the protest following an incident in August involving two women who were refused to go topless at their local pool in Uppsala.
...
Astrid Hellroth, one of the campaigners, told Agence France-Presse: "Our aim is to start a debate about the unwritten social and cultural rules that sexualize and discriminate against the female body."
...
According to UPI, Bara Brost spokeswomen Astrid Hellroth and Liv Ambjornsson told Ottar, a magazine published by the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education: "We want our breasts to be as 'normal' and desexualized as men's, so that we too can pull off our shirts at football matches."
As it's a media rule that any story about breasts has to feature a picture of them, here's dirty Scandi hooter-whore Uschi Digart in a bikini.
Thanks to GeorgeG.
Sweeeeeet: Phinn linked a picture from the protest, and for once, get this, the women baring their breasts are actually hot.
I am so conflicted right now about Scandis. Do I want to sleep with them? Or do I want to eradicate these frost-vermin from the face of the earth?
And-- Can I do both? Is that ethical?

— Ace Isn't this one of those necessary steps towards political reconciliation the liberals have claimed to be required to demonstrate true progress in Iraq?
Iraq's cabinet has approved a redraft of a law that would allow lower ranking members of ousted dictator Saddam Hussein's Baath party to return to public office, a government official said Thursday. The bill will set up an independent Justice and Accountability Commission which will recognise two categories of Baathists -- those in the lower ranks who committed no crimes and senior leaders who implemented the oppressive policies of the party.
"The bill prevents (senior) party members from being employed or practising any political job," government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said on national television late on Thursday.
...
But lower ranked members would be allowed back into public life and into the military.
...
"We hope that parliament will approve it as soon as possible to remove one of the points of tension," Dabbagh said.
The passing of the so-called de-Baathification law is one of 18 benchmarks set by the US government to measure political reconciliation in Iraq.
It should be noted that a previous version of the bill was stalled in the Parliament by Shiites determined not to allow any Baathists into any governmental position, so there's no guarantee this new draft will fare any better.

They told me that if President Bush were elected, thuggish security forces would begin killing "suspects" in the full view of the public, and they were right!*
* This is Instapundit's new joke, and a good one, so I'm stealing it.

— LauraW. Man of Substance alerted me to this a few days ago.
A Los Angeles man entrusted with making personal computers safer has admitted to hacking into them to create a rogue network of as many as a quarter-million PCs, which he used to steal money and identities.Federal prosecutors Friday said that John Kenneth Schiefer, a 26-year-old computer security consultant, used an army of hijacked computers, known as a "botnet," to carry out a variety of schemes to rip off unsuspecting consumers and corporations.
-----------------------------------
At one point, according to the plea agreement, a conspirator named "Adam" expressed concern about stealing money. Schiefer responded by reminding Adam that he was not yet 18 and should "quit being a bitch and claim it."
Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

— Gabriel Malor John McCain's staff are a little upset at the coverage of the "Bitch Incident." And maybe they should be. It's news, but not the Oh-my-gosh-I-can't-believe-it-call-your-mother event that Rick Sanchez made it out to be.
On the other hand, this fundraising letter from McCain is just sad:
Campaign manager Rick Davis, in a fundraising letter, charged the "Clinton News Network" with "gratuitously attacking" McCain. He said that CNN "owes John McCain an apology because of the outrageous behavior" of Sanchez, and that "the liberal media" are "trying to stop the McCain comeback."
This is an attempt at fundraising, and I imagine folks who get these letters are already leaning towards McCain. They might even find that whine compelling enough to send cash. But we just saw a week of Clinton-bashing because she felt that the media was too hard on her. It isn't any more attractive coming from McCain.
If John McCain thinks he's being gratuitously attacked now, he needs to consider how much unfavorable attention he'll get as president.

— LauraW. So I put up a post yesterday about the Olympia protestors, and walk away from the blog.
I really shouldn't have done that.
Content Warning [Ace:] The actual link is fine and all the text is safe for work (at least what I've seen). However, some porn/shock images have been linked on the calender, so click on any links therein at your extreme peril.
...
For those who don't know what's been going on, the link goes to the Olympia Peace & Justice Community Calendar:
This calender is for meetings, workshops, events, and other activities related to opposing the war & promoting peace & justice in the Olympia community.
And the AOSHQ Morons™ are breaking that bitch, and making me cry with laughter.
OOPS! Update: If the link doesn't work anymore, Ranba Ral has been terrific and made us all a copy. Links don't work from the capture, unfortunately, and stuff is missing.
Try using Gunslinger's link provided in this comments section. It works for me but the main page link doesn't. Curious.
Update 2: Sondra blogged this yesterday too. Check the comments for a nifty story from Jeremy at 7:03 pm. Thanks to Craig C.
Another Dang Update (Slublog) Here's a newer screencap, courtesy of Ranba Ral.
