Senior AQ Leader Dead (?) After Somali Strikes; Also Killed: Six Bazillion Civilians, Hope
— Ace

He made the classic mistake. He got into an air-war in Africa.

A senior al-Qaida suspect wanted for bombing American embassies in East Africa was killed in a U.S. airstrike, a Somali official said Wednesday, a report that if confirmed would mean the end of an eight-year hunt for a top target of Washington's war on terrorism.

There was no immediate confirmation from the United States. In Washington, an intelligence official said the U.S. killed five to 10 people in an attack on an al-Qaida target in southern Somalia but did not say who was killed. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the operation's sensitivity, said perhaps four or five others were wounded.

The report came as U.S forces apparently launched a third day of airstrikes in southern Somalia. Witnesses said an AC-130 gunship attacked a suspected al-Qaida training camp. At least four separate strikes were reported Wednesday around Ras Kamboni, on the Somali coast and a few miles from the Kenyan border.

And wait for it...

In three days of attacks near Afmadow, close to the Kenyan border, 64 civilians had been killed and 100 injured, said elder Haji Farah Qorshel. There was no independent confirmation of his claim.

BAM! "No independent confirmation." But just keep running those claims from AQ sympathizers, guys.

...

Fazul Abdullah Mohammed, who allegedly planned the 1998 bombings of two U.S. embassies in East Africa, was killed in a U.S. airstrike Monday, according to an American intelligence report passed on to the Somali authorities.

"I have received a report from the American side chronicling the targets and list of damage," Abdirizak Hassan, the Somali president's chief of staff, told The Associated Press. "One of the items they were claiming was that Fazul Abdullah Mohammed is dead."

If confirmed, Mohammed's death would be a major victory for the U.S. in its hunt for the 1998 embassy bombers. The strike was part of the first U.S. offensive in the African country since 18 American soldiers were killed there in 1993.

Bubbleply
— AndrewR

Ace of Spades readers, meet Bubbleply.

If you're like me, you probably think that the old VH1 show Pop Up Video was a decent idea in concept, but not execution. You probably think that it needed more dirty jokes and the like. Well, now you can do something about it.

It's easy: you take a video off YouTube or Google, upload it to their site, and then they let you add your own bubbles and give you a link for it.

Here's my first try (it may take a few seconds to load).

I figure you guys don't have anything else worthwhile to do anyway, so feel free to make your own and post them in the comments.

And please don't tell me this is old. I don't think I could take it.

Teh Ghey + Robot Buddy = Crazy Delicious
— Ace

Oh, it's good.

Very, very good.

If you watch only one video about a Gay Robot at a fraternity building a "super-penis" and wearing Seduction cologne by Calvin Klein, make sure you watch this one.

Yeah, I know it's old. See-Threepio and all that. But better.

Thanks to Allah, bound, Prometheus-like, upon the Rock of Malkin.

The Surge: 20,000
— Ace

Jack Straw asks if it's really enough to make a difference.

I think so. It's not the sort of eyepopping number I'd have preferred, like 40,000 or 50,000, but it still is around one-seventh of all troops there.

Basically we can keep all troop levels the same and add in another 20,000 warfighters into Baghdad and Anbar only. That makes it sound better, doesn't it?

Can't hurt. I just no longer believe that "more American troops just gives the terrorists more targets." The American "targets" get to shoot back, and shooting back is sort of an important part of winning a war.

One-Two Punch Against "Islamphobia" Nonsense
— Ace

One.

Two.

Good reads.

"Islamophobia" seems to be a fiction created by terrorist-supporting Muslims who seek to aid and abet their more, erm, proactive coreligionists by forbidding the world from even taking notice of the fact that they seem to be killing a lot us.

Apparently it's now considered gauche to say at a party, "I say, that rather bedraggled chappie over there seems to have, well, quite fully severed my wife's head from her neck." Makes everyone uneasy; would be better to keep that to yourself until later, when you're speaking with your grief therapist.

Who the hell consented to these Tyler Durden rules? The first rule of radical Islamofascist murder cultism is: You don't talk about radical Islamofascist murder cutlism.

Says who? And didn't those rules only apply to members of the club?

How to end the great scourge of Islamophia? Well, as VillainousCompany links, the rest of us can adapt to new and different multicultural lifestyles:

Norway’s Minister of Justice from 2001 to 2005, Odd Einar Dørum, mentioned the problem in 2001 but has later gone quiet about the issue. The reported number of rapes in Oslo is now six – 6! – times as high per capita as in New York City, yet the media keeps warning against Islamophobia.

According to Aftenposten, the clinic (voldtektsmottak) at the emergency hospital known as Legevakt has never had so many rape victims to treat. Its ability to care for them all is being severely tested. The number of reported rapes has skyrocketed this year.

Two out of three charged with rape in Norway’s capital are immigrants with a non-western background according to a police study. The number of rape cases is also rising steadily. Unni Wikan, a professor of social anthropology at the University of Oslo, in 2001 said that “Norwegian women must take their share of responsibility for these rapes” because Muslim men found their manner of dress provocative. The professor’s conclusion was not that Muslim men living in the West needed to adjust to Western norms, but the exact opposite: “Norwegian women must realize that we live in a Multicultural society and adapt themselves to it.”

So there's option one. Option two is rather absurd, I admit, but perhaps we should consider it, just so we know we've given all possibilities a fair hearing. In Option Two, Islamaphobia would be eradicated if Muslims would simply stop murdering people, and defending their fellow Muslims who do, and even sending their fellow Muslim murderers money for their efforts. Hitting the ol' Decapitation Tip Jar, as it were.

Just a crazy idea.

Oh, PS: We'd also all be just thrilled if you stopped raping women like there's only three raping days 'till Christmas, too. Pace yourselves.

Senator Joe Biden: The Constitution Forbids Congress From Cutting Off Money For A War, Or, Well, From Doing Anything Much At All, Really
— Ace

Passing the buck while covering your ass in full effect, yo.

Joe Biden cites Article I's famous clause, The Congress shall not have the power to put 'em on the glass.

The left has been expecting Santa to bring them all ponies for Christmas.

The Democratic Party now has to walk a difficult line, keeping their lunatics believing in Santa, but also letting them down gently: "Sorry, Nelly, no pony this year. Maybe Christmas 2009. If you're a good little activist."

But if Santa is all-knowing and all-good and all-powerful, how can he stand idly by while millions don't get their ponies?

Noted theologian Andrew Sullivan is expected to cover this perplexing question in his next bestseller seller, The Liberal Soul: How The Democratic Party Lost It And How You Can Stop Oppressing Me And Let Me Marry A Feller.

A dKos Reader Talks Sense About 9/11 Conspiracy Theories
— Ace

But wait for it. Just... wait for it.

Yeah, so these incompetent, bumbling fools, of which everything they touch turns to shit, they all just concocted this elaborate ballet of death that unfolded on 911...

The planes were all remote controlled.

But the planes didn't really hit all the targets, there was actually a SECRET MISSILE that hit the pentagon. Because it is much easier to strike the pentagon with a missile and convince everyone that it was actually a plane, than to just hit the damn pentagon with a PLANE!

Makes sene so far.

But... wait for it.

The empty planes hit each WTC tower, exploding into great fireballs of destruction. But Bushco adroitly timed the demolition of the towers to make it seem like those fireballs of destruction actually destroyed something.

Why a controlled demolition? Why not just load the parking garage full of explosives like in the previous attack, but this time use enough to take down a tower? Well, that would be TOO EASY - because of course Bushco like a challenge since they so expertly complete everything they set out to do.

Wait for it... BAM!

I'll entertain the possibility that Bushco knew 911 was going to take place, but intentionally let it happen so that they could get their mideast war on, along with imperial powers. If I had some good acid I'd even consider the possibility that Bushco hired out the hit and even paid and trained Al Qaeda. But this nonsense about fake planes, controlled WTC demolition, and the rest, it's just flat out psychotic bullshit.

Glad someone's there at the dKos to talk sense to the loonies.

dKos: 9/11 Was An Inside Job! (Both Charlie Sheen and Hustler Magazine Say So!)
— Ace

Compare and contrast:

Bugfuck-crazy leftist paranoia;

Democratic Senator Dick Durbin asking the brain-trust at dKos to rank the issues in the order they'd like to see them tackled.

Winning Durbin's poll so far? "JESUS CHRIST SOMEONE GET THESE KIKE SPIDERS OUT OF MY MOUTH," followed closely by "I'M LOOKING AT YOU AND TOUCHING MYSELF I'M LOOKING AT YOU AND TOUCHING MYSELF I'M LOOKING AT YOU AND TOUCHING MYSELF."

The state of the union is strong.

DKos Yanks THE TRUTH Down!: No, not the actual truth about 9/11.

The truth about the sort of people who post there and read that crap.

Notice that no one on the right is required to do any policing of its comments to keep out 9/11 Truthers.

Anyway, the dKos diary about the 9/11 "truth" has been pulled.

Controversial 9/11 Diaries

DailyKos accepts that the 9/11 attacks were perpetrated by agents of al-Qaeda. It is forbidden to write diaries that:

1. refer to claims that American, British, Israeli, or any government assisted in the attacks
2. refer to claims that the airplanes that crashed into the WTC and Pentagon were not the cause of the damage to those buildings or their subsequent collapse

Authoring or recommending these diaries may result in banning from Daily Kos.

Poor Kos. Always having to patrol his website for diaries blaming 9/11 on the US, or all wars on the Jews.

What Mel Gibson went to rehab for, Markos gets paid huge advertising revenues for.

How many times do you idiots have to be told?

Kos doesn't want your real opinions about 9/11 or the Jews.

He just wants your fucking money.

Capice? Savvy?

We clear, idiots?

Correction: Not deleted, at least not yet. Sorry... but when you click on an individual comment at dKos, it looks like you're reading the stupid "diary entry." At least to me.

Maybe this represents a new policy at dKos -- with the election safely won, no reason to hide THE TRUTH any longer.
