Sarah Fluke Will Not Run for Congress, But Instead for California State Senate
— Ace

If you need a slumpbuster, Sandra Fluke makes for as good as one as any.

“I am extremely moved by the outpouring of local and national support I have received since I announced that I was considering running for office. My entire career has been devoted to the public interest, whether representing victims of human trafficking or advocating for working families,” Fluke said late Tuesday night. “I am committed to continuing that fight in Sacramento, working to protect our environment, ensure our access to health care, and create the jobs that are desperately needed. While I strongly considered offering my candidacy for Congress, I feel there is a better way for me to advance the causes that are important to our community.”

Her entire career?

57 A number of churches have been destroyed or burned, children were killed when rebels fired mortar rockets at an Armenian Christian school in Damascus and countless others have been abducted by Islamic fighters, the Syrian delegation reveals in a statement published by the research group, Westminster Institute, that brought them to Washington. Eleven nuns have also been abducted and are still in captivity and two bishops are still missing after getting kidnapped during a humanitarian mission.

But Senator McCain, an Arizona Republican, evidently doesnÂ’t want to hear negative stories about the rebels heÂ’s working to arm. So he stormed out of a closed-door meeting with the Syrian clergy officials last week. Held in the Senate Arms Services Committee meeting room, the reunion also included senators Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island, Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut and Joe Manchin of West Virginia. Graham is a Republican and the rest are Democrats.

McCain marched into the committee room yelling, according to a high-level source that attended the meeting, and quickly stormed out. “He was incredibly rude,” the source told Judicial Watch “because he didn’t think the Syrian church leaders should even be allowed in the room.” Following the shameful tantrum McCain reentered the room and sat briefly but refused to make eye contact with the participants, instead ignoring them by looking down at what appeared to be random papers.

The outburst was so embarrassing that Senator Graham, also an advocate of U.S. military intervention in Syria, apologized for McCain’s disturbing outburst. “Graham actually apologized to the group for McCain’s behavior,” according to the source, who sat through the entire meeting. “It was truly unbelievable.”

65
Also note:

California's top-two primary system could be incentive for a crowded pack of contenders to enter the mix. All the candidates run in the same primary regardless of party affiliation, and then the top two vote-getters advance to the general election, regardless of party affiliation. The format can split the vote up among many candidates, which means a candidate can make it to the general election with a relatively low percentage of votes. That encourages long-shot candidates to take a chance.

92 I think despite what Fluke said, she's probably had as many sexual partners as many men and women who are her age who are leftist. If she's had three longer term relationships that's not that unusual. it's just that I would have preferred hearing about her work against sex trafficking and not about free! free! free! birth control. All the brouhaha turned her into a one dimensional figure to many people who know nothing about her other work, only what Rush said about her , The liberal pushback and her testimony to Congress.

93 She announces for the Waxman seat, then in just a few weeks, drops out for a crummy state opening. With her name recognition, in that decidedly blue district, she would have been a shoe-in. Either a no-name who couldn't compete with someone Rush called a slut, or someone famous who thought they would be perceived as mean knocking out Fluke. It will be interesting to see who it is.

186 From the reports: The data center was located in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. Among the data stored there were several archives containing corporate and central bank records, a potentially huge loss that could have some surprisingly far reaching consequences. Just last month, for instance, the United States Supreme Court decided to hear a case on whether creditors could seek historic bank records from Argentina regarding the countryÂ’s default in 2001. Whether or not such files have now been destroyed is unknown. Such disasters are one of the things data storage companies like Iron Mountain try their hardest to prevent. The Buenos Aires facility even had a team of private firefighters at the facility. ThatÂ’s in addition to the sprinkler systems, and automatic containment mechanisms designed to stop fires from spreading through the building. All of those precautions, however, were apparently not enough.

217 You remember Fluke (not pronounced as it's spelled), who is famous for being famous for staking out an extreme position in public?
Will she win? If she's running in one of the zanier zones of Granolia, fer sher!
What next for extreme positions?
How 'bout compulsory FGM/C for heterosexual Christian women?
How 'bout "decriminalizing" sex with minors?
Outrageous? Yes. Crazy? Yes. Nearly inevitable? Yes.

well she used all the key california words in there, enviro, health care, jobs, community.... so she should fit right in.

I would like to see an example of this 'representing victims of human trafficking' claim though.  No media will ask.
