Sound familiar? The Washington Post reports:

The Arctic ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consul Ifft, at Bergen, Norway.

Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers, he declared, all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met with as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm.

Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared. Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts, which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds.

The year was 1922.

The article was rediscovered last year in the Library of Congress. A corroborating source was also found with more detail about the "favorable ice conditions" described by State Department Consul George Ifft. Well, duh. You'd think that the Internet would have ended this kind of naivete.

In a co-ed forum, the teens pondered contraception. One well-meaning young man stood and said aluminum foil could be used in lieu of a condom. Other teens offered up myths such as the efficacy of plastic baggies, having sex while standing and bathing right after sex.

Adults in attendance informed the students that none of those methods protected against unwanted pregnancies or sexually transmitted diseases.

Aluminum foil? Owie.

If you click through, be aware that the op-ed is aggressively pro-sex ed with contraceptive instruction and downright insulting to advocates of abstinence-only education. I can't say I disagree, considering the insane behavior of my own first times, but the author is a little over the top. Then again, I don't have a child in this fight (luckily!).

The thunderous applause was still ringing in his ears when the state's new governor, David Paterson, told the Daily News that he and his wife had extramarital affairs.

In a stunning revelation, both Paterson, 53, and his wife, Michelle, 46, acknowledged in a joint interview they each had intimate relationships with others during a rocky period in their marriage several years ago.

In the course of several interviews in the past few days, Paterson said he maintained a relationship for two or three years with "a woman other than my wife," beginning in 1999.

Unless it turns out he was paying for his extracurricular activities, there's probably no real fallout to this but NY politics is a little more interesting than I thought.

THE hooker who brought down New York governor Eliot Spitzer once dressed up as a cheerleader for a wild threesome with actor Charlie Sheen.

Ashley Dupre was just 19 when she romped with Sheen, costing him up to £10,000 a session.

Jason Itzler, 41, self-styled King of All Pimps, said he sent Dupre, under the name Victoria, and another girl, Cheryl, to the Platoon star.

He said: "Sheen got the girls to dress up as cheerleaders and chant his name while performing sex acts.

"They loved Charlie. They said he was a great guy. A great lover.

"One time he had them dressed up like cheerleaders, chanting 'Charlie! Charlie! He's our man. If he can't do it, nobody can!'"

Okay, Charlie Sheen denied this... when it was first alleged two years ago.

So this guy peddled this story two years ago, and now, wham, happenstance strikes and it turns out that this "Victoria" from the old story just happens to be the Most Famous Hooker In The Whole World.

Lucky for Mr. Itzler!

So yeah, could totally believe Charlie Sheen would do this. But did he? With "Kristen"? No.

Find a tool to claim "disenfranchisement" and take it to court!

The suit was filed in August in Tampa on behalf of Floridian Victor DiMaio. It claims the DNC violated his constitutional rights when it stripped Florida's Democratic Party of all 210 of its delegates to the convention as punishment for holding its Jan. 29 presidential primary earlier than DNC rules allow.

The suit was rejected at the district court level in Tampa, but the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta has agreed to hear the case.

I'm no constitutional lawyer, nor do I play one on television, but what constitutionally protected right was violated here? Goofy as the DNC primary system might be (Sooooper-delegates!), they certainly have the right to set the rules by which the candidate that represents their party is selected.

Even if those rules put a long-legged Mack Daddy on the ballot.

I really want to steal this clip, I'll refrain.

Basically this preacher rips on Obama for having a "white momma" and for only coming to attention when a white woman ("Obama Girl") with big "54D" breasts sang about him.

Umm... right conclusion, wrong reasoning.

He does speak of the need for honor and integrity, rather than being "playa lovers" without either, but he also just seems to hate white people.

Oh my God, he's still going. You have to hear this.

Bonus: Since Democrats pushed a resolution of condemnation against Bob Jones University, where's Nancy's and Harry's resolution condemning Wright and the Trinity Church?
