Barack Obama (D-Friend Of At Least One Terrorist) Smears Fellow Senator
— DrewM

I wanted to bring a little attention to one of the most truly egregious things Mr. Bring Everyone Together did last night.

In trying to deflect attention away from his relationship with a terrorist (Bill Ayers), Obama smeared a man he claims to be a friendly with, fellow Senator Tom Coburn.

This is a guy (Ayers) who lives in my neighborhood, who's a professor of English in Chicago, who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He's not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis.

And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago when I was 8 years old, somehow reflects on me and my values, doesn't make much sense, George.

The fact is, is that I'm also friendly with Tom Coburn, one of the most conservative Republicans in the United States Senate, who during his campaign once said that it might be appropriate to apply the death penalty to those who carried out abortions.

Do I need to apologize for Mr. Coburn's statements? Because I certainly don't agree with those either.

No Mr. Obama you donÂ’t need to apologize for Tom Coburn but you need to apologize to him.

LetÂ’s take a quick look at these two men Sen. Obama links together so cavalierly.

Ayers in a 2001 interview
(ironically published the morning of September 11th) with the New York Times about his memoir said, ''I don't regret setting bombs,'' Bill Ayers said. ''I feel we didn't do enough.''

I guess the 12 bombings the Weathermen claimed credit for, including targets such as the headquarters of the NYPD, the Pentagon and the US Capitol, werenÂ’t enough.

Surely the older, presumably wiser version of Ayers that Obama hung out with renounces his past and would never ‘do it all again’, right? Not so fast says Ayers ''I don't want to discount the possibility'.'

So what did Senator Tom Coburn do to deserve to be lumped in with this unrepentant domestic terrorist?

There's Nothing Better To Do Today, So Let's Insult Your Mother
— LauraW

I'm putting a picture of our special AOSHQ-endorsed seahorse up there, because the only way to wrest you morons' attention away from your navel lint is to show you something pretty and colorful...

Shit. You're gone again.

*shaking my car keys in your face*

Who's my handsome boy? You are! You are! Yes, you are!

Back? OK.
FLAAAAME WAAAARRRR.

Let's refresh and recap.

1.) You smell like something dead and rotting on a pier.
2.) Because you smell like your mom, who blows sea lions just for the protein.

Kind of a nautical theme to this here flame war today, I guess.

Wikipedia Edit-Wars and Global Warming Zealotry
— Ace

Even if you're less than concerned with Wikpedia, as I am, this is still a good article about the global warming cultists' insistence that nary a shred of information undermining their religion be available to the public.

In the case recounted there, there's a dispute over whether a global warming skeptic recanted her previous claims. The author of the article here says she didn't. The Wikipedia edit Nazi "Tabletop" claims she did.

That would seem like a normal sort of dispute without someone clearly in the right. After all, they both have "sources" who weigh in on whether the skeptic has recanted.

Except those sources aren't equal. The global warming zealot has distorted quotes pulled out of context.

The author of the article has the permission of the very scientist whose position is disputed to edit the entry to say "No, indeed, I stand by my previous criticisms of the global warming 'consensus.'"

Apparently the scientist herself isn't an authoritative enough source to convince "Tabletop" that she continues to be a global warming "consensus" skeptic. She feels her own "source" as to what the scientist's current beliefs are trumps the scientist herself.

And so it goes. Thuggery and Orwellian rewriting of the record, in accordance with the demands of the Party.

Science: Our Cities May Soon Be Overrun with Dangerous Feral Cats!

It's science, remember. A scientist is making these dire predictions.

You are anti-science if you suspect he may be 1) a crank or 2) an advocate first and foremost dishonestly claiming "science" demands we fix whatever bugaboo he's on about.

Illegal Earmark From Don Young (R-Alaska) Draws Criminal Inquiry
— Ace

He steathily inserted an earmark into a bill after it had already been passed by Congress but before it arrived on the President's desk for his signature. Unless the president's men went through the previous version of the bill to compare it to the version of it that appeared on his desk (I have no idea if that is done; given the slapdash manner of Washington, I rather doubt it), there would be no warning that the bill he was signing differed from the actual bill passed by lawful means.

He admits, he says, to "correcting" the bill.

And what about that pork he inserted? Oh, probably something that can be explained away rather easily, like some pork for his local district that the locals wanted but makes little sense being included in a congressional spending package. That sort of pork smells like corruption, but they always get away with it, because they can claim, somewhat plausibly, non-corrupt reasons for desiring the pork. After all, his constituents wanted the spending; he's just serving his constituents.

Except that's not the sort of pork it was at all.

Young, who represents Alaska, says that this project in Florida is “entirely worthy”, but that depends on definition. Local officials didn’t want the project, and have tried three times to cancel it. Unfortunately, since the money comes from a Congressional earmark, they can’t apply the funds anywhere else. However, Young got $40,000 from developers who will benefit from the highway extension at a fundraiser hosted by these same interests. In terms of campaign donations, the fraudulent earmark has certainly proven “worthy”.

The change involved transforming the earmark from general highway projects in Florida to this specific development. It took months before Young would admit that he had changed the earmark after the passage of the bill, but he claims that it had nothing to do with the $40,000 he got from the Florida developers. Young says that he always intended on making the earmark specific to this project — but for some reason corrected it only after its passage into law.

By referring this for a criminal investigation, the Republicans have at long last finally taken some action against this guy. But only because this was so egregious their hands were forced.

I'm afraid this cocksucker is just (as far as we know) the worst of our corrupt politicians. We need jailtime, and we need a lot of it.

Whoops! Utterly unintentional brainfart. I deliberately put his affiliation -- "R" -- right in the headline, to show the MSM how it ought to be done, but I brainfarted and wrote "D" instead. As the end of the passage suggests, I knew he was a Republican.

Man is my face red.

Art Major Deliberately Gets Pregnant, Induces Abortions/Miscarriages In Order to Collect Fetal Blood... To Use for Art Display
— Ace

"Edgy."

Insanity and evil often are, you know.

Beginning next Tuesday, Shvarts (pictured) will be displaying her senior art project, a documentation of a nine-month process during which she artificially inseminated herself "as often as possible" while periodically taking abortifacient drugs to induce miscarriages. Her exhibition will feature video recordings of these forced miscarriages as well as preserved collections of the blood from the process.

The goal in creating the art exhibition, Shvarts said, was to spark conversation and debate on the relationship between art and the human body.

She artificially inseminated herself? Why would she need to do that?

Oh. Ohhhhhh.

Tom Shales Lies About Obama's Associations With Unrepetent Terrorist Bill Ayers
— Ace

This is a misrepresentation so blatant as to be deliberate, and hence to be categorized as an outright lie:

The boyish Stephanopoulos, who has done wonders with the network's Sunday morning hour, "This Week" (as, indeed, has Gibson with the nightly "World News"), looked like an overly ambitious intern helping out at a subcommittee hearing, digging through notes for something smart-alecky and slimy. He came up with such tired tripe as a charge that Obama once associated with a nutty bomb-throwing anarchist. That was "40 years ago, when I was 8 years old," Obama said with exasperation.

Shales deliberately misleads as to what "THat" refers to. He wants you to believe Obama only knew Ayers "40 years ago, when [he] was 8 years old." In fact, that only refers to when Ayers was actively planting bombs at the Pentagon.

Obama associated with Ayers quite a bit after being 8 years old:

In 1995, State Senator Alice Palmer introduced her chosen successor, Barack Obama, to a few of the districtÂ’s influential liberals at the home of two well known figures on the local left: William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

Dr. Young and another guest, Maria Warren, described it similarly: as an introduction to Hyde Park liberals of the handpicked successor to Palmer, a well-regarded figure on the left.

“When I first met Barack Obama, he was giving a standard, innocuous little talk in the living room of those two legends-in-their-own-minds, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn,” Warren wrote on her blog in 2005. “They were launching him — introducing him to the Hyde Park community as the best thing since sliced bread.”

That's from the Nice Deb link in a below post. Ayers also contributed money to Obama in 2001, and the two served on the same board that funneled money to organizations run by an "ex" PLO operative.

Little Tyrants Upset Over Debate [Cuffy Meigs]
— Open Blog

Liberal outrage over the ABC News debate last night is at a fever pitch, with a familiar call to arms going out across the land --- shutting down free speech is a common wish of these free thinkers:

Daily Kos (yesterday)

President Barack should pull their [ABC's] Broadcasting License.

Code Pink (2005)

Clear Channel wants a new 8-year license to control our public airwaves, promote war, and use our music against us...Pull the plug on corporate radio and tell the FCC to hold Clear Channel accountable, or revoke their broadcast license.

Think Progress (2007)

ItÂ’s time to shut FOX news network down, revoke their broadcast license, force them into bankruptcy, and deport Rupert Murdoch back to Australia.

Democratic Underground (2004)

Fox News is a 24/7 campaign commercial for the Repukes...It should be banned from broadcasting within 60 days of the General Election...When Kerry wins he should pull their broadcast license ASAP.
