— Ace She had been carrying around her undeveloped twin's fetus in her stomach since birth.
Nine years old now, and the fetus was finally discovered because she was complaining of stomach pains.
Surgeons in the Greek city of Larissa discovered the six-centimetre (two inch) foetus when the young girl was brought to hospital, complaining of a stomach ache."They could see on the right side that her belly was swollen, but they couldn't suspect that this tumour would hide an embryo," said Iakovos Brouskelis, the hospital's director.
Surgeons removed the "tumour", which was a foetus with a head, hair and eyes, but no brain or umbilical cord, and the girl has made a full recovery.
In 2003, doctors in Kazakhstan treated seven-year-old Alamjan Nematilaev, who complained that he felt something moving inside of him. When surgeons operated, they found his "twin", which had a head, hair, genitals and a partially-formed face.
It happens, apparently, in 1 in 500,000 births.

— Ace This far.
Yes: "What Hitler was demanding was not unreasonable."
Holy fuck, that is simply amazing.
And it's only mid-May. Wait 'till they've built up a head of steam.
Thanks to CJ.

Not hilarious, but cute.

— Ace Ahahahahaha. Of course. Her previous bouts of lunacy already granted her college credits in that field like an AP test of dementia.
And the school -- North Carolina Central University -- has an honor code, and yes, that honor code forbids students from making maliciously false claims.
But we all know -- something happened. Must have. She said so.

— Ace It's not as bad as that suggests but it's bad enough to probably keep him off the ticket. Fortunately.
Comes at around 0:55.
I really don't get this doofus. I suppose his joke was "Obama's such a Nancy Boy he dives for cover when a mere gun is aimed at him," but, um, huh? Who wouldn't?
Taking that "guns aren't dangerous" sort of spin a little too far, aren't you?
My memory fails me -- isn't this the second time Huckabee has suggested something untoward happening to another candidate? Let me know if I'm crazy on that.

— Ace A minute? Hell, some days I can do double that.
I can do a minute standing on my head.
Well, not really. I lack the upper body strength. But if I were suspended upside-down by some sort of complex sexual cantilever system, I could do a minute. Maybe even three or four because of, you know, discomfort and disorientation.
The International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM) gathered the world's leading sexual health experts to develop an evidence-based definition for the dreaded quick ending. They'll present the details of their conclusions May 19 at the annual meeting of the American Urological Association. The researchers considered these factors: time to ejaculation, inability to delay ejaculation and negative consequences from premature ejaculation, or what they like to call PE.
In short, here's the new definition: "A male sexual dysfunction characterized by ejaculation which always or nearly always occurs prior to or within about one minute of vaginal penetration; and, inability to delay ejaculation on all or nearly all vaginal penetrations; and, negative personal consequences, such as distress, bother, frustration and/or the avoidance of sexual intimacy."
Always or nearly always? No, not "always or nearly always."
Passed.
Ahem: Four men have offered to donate their penises to a Scandi (of course) museum of dorks.
The smallest in the collection so far is the bone from a hamster penis, only 2mm long.
Again -- I got that beat.

— Ace This keeps going through my head. And I don't want it to.
I don't even like Subway. If you told me that a footlong sub cost five bucks, I'd say, "Well, that sounds about right." I wouldn't think it was some kind of deal.
And yet... I have the price of a Subway footlong tattooed on my brain as if it's the Lord's Prayer. more...

— Ace Gee, I wonder why he got Hamas' endorsement. He is, as he's saying live right now, "crystal clear" on terrorists.
I agree; he is crystal clear. Just not in the way he pretends.
The U.S. needs a foreign policy that “looks at the root causes of problems and dangers.” Obama compared Hezbollah to Hamas. Both need to be compelled to understand that “they’re going down a blind alley with violence that weakens their legitimate claims.”
Of course the NYT failed to follow up with the rather obvious (and crucial) questions --- "What are the 'root causes' impelling these terrorists?" and "What legitimate claims do you think these terrorist organizations have?" And perhaps even the follow up -- "As Hamas and Hezballah share many of the same 'root causes' and motivations and goals as Al Qaeda, do you also believe that Al Qaeda also has some 'legitimate claims?'"
We'll see if anyone else does their reportorial job and troubles the Messiah with such questions.
Meanwhile, Obama continues to insist he's never said he'd negotiate with terrorists, though the record says otherwise. Indeed, the speech he's giving right at this moment says otherwise.

— Ace The Obama Fish:

ExUrban League also offers Obama proclaiming Peace in Our Time.
On the Obamamessiah, Gerard Baker weighs in on the Great Redeemer:
The alert among you will have noticed by now that what all these spiritually uplifting leaders [JFK, Carter, Clinton] have in common. They are all Democrats. Never in any of the chapters of this hagiography does a Republican, a conservative, appear in a remotely similar light. These alien creatures by contrast have always been portrayed as cartoonish representatives of the Dark Side of humanity, or, if they were really lucky, simply idiots, failed B-movie actors and irredeemably ignorant hicks with embarrassingly neanderthal views on women, religion and communism. It's been a while coming - neither Al Gore in 2000 (before the luminescence created by his recent joint Nobel/Oscar triumphs) nor John Kerry in 2004 quite fit the bill. But it's fairly clear now that, with the near-certain nomination by the Democrats of Barack Obama everything is in place for the media to indulge in one of the greatest, orgiastic media fiestas of hero-worship since Elvis Presley.
You will not see a finer example of the genre than the cover story of this week's Newsweek, which was entitled “The O Team”. This rhapsodic inside account of Senator Obama's campaign reads a little like a cross between Father Alban Butler's Life of St Francis and the sort of authorised biography of Kim Jong Il you can pick up in any good bookshop in Pyongyang.
Mr Obama is portrayed throughout as an immanently benevolent figure. Not human really, more a comforting presence, a light source. He is always eager to listen to all aides of an argument, always instilling confidence in the weak-willed, resolutely sticking to his high principles and tirelessly spurning the low road of electoral politics. I stopped reading after a while but I'm sure by the end he was healing the sick, comforting the dying, restoring sight to the blind and setting prisoners free.
The panegyric included the now conventional wisdom in the media that Republicans have only ever won elections in the past 40 years through lies and fearmongering - smearing their opponents and spreading false fears that a vote for a Democrat would open the country to foreign invasion.
...
This media narrative is not only an outgrowth of the journalists' natural enthusiasm for a Democrat such as Mr Obama. It is also a clever ploy to pre-emptively de-legitimise any Republican critique of the Democratic nominee. It is designed to prevent Mr McCain from asking reasonable questions about Mr Obama's strikingly vacuous political background, or raising doubts about his credentials for the presidency.
...
If the past 40 years have taught us anything they have surely taught that premature canonisation is an almost certain guarantee of subsequent deep disappointment.
Also sort of on this point is a black Democratic's critique of the Cult of Obama:
[H]ere was Barack suggesting that Wright's behavior was commonplace in black churches: "I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community." He generalized Wright's ridiculousness to distract from his individual choice to worship under a buffoon for two decades. I have a cousin who attended Wright's church for three weeks and then left, never to return. She had no interest in hearing his nonsense from the pulpit.Barack obscured the true nature of black religious life because, to do otherwise, he would have had to answer the question, "Why are you a member of a church that is this racially divisive and such a sharp aberration to how the rest of black people worship?" When Barack beautifully suggested that the beliefs pronounced from the pulpit of Trinity in Chicago are not uncommon, he was feeding us garbage. But Barack needed to protect his reputation as a race-healer and unifier, so he told a lie about black religious life to help keep the glow of his own reputation alive. And now the evidence suggests that Barack didn't, in the end, break with Wright over his outrageous racial claims, but over his suggestion that Barack is just a politician.
That so many people have a stake in ignoring these real concerns is troubling. At least the Hillary supporters I know seem to be aware of her more unsavory traits: that she carries a knife with her that she could pull out at any minute. Not so with Obama's fans. It's nearly impossible to get them to admit any wrong in him. Given the choice, I prefer to side with the group that knows their candidate can be a jerk, rather than the group that believes their candidate is Jesus.
