Posted by: Mr. Ed at May 01, 2010 02:08 PM (yQWNf)

2

Last year was more exciting for the family.  My cousin had a horse in the race, but he went off at 50 to 1.

I won a hundred bucks!

Posted by: huerfano at May 01, 2010 02:09 PM (oSrBX)

3 I am going with Jacksons Bend.  No reason, just like the #13.

Posted by: Guy Fawkes at May 01, 2010 02:11 PM (7VvJB)

4 I've got at least a buck on the entire field.

Posted by: Winston at May 01, 2010 02:13 PM (wHNDY)

5 #6 Stately Victor will win

Posted by: exceller at May 01, 2010 02:14 PM (Z7Znk)

6 #20 Sidney's Candy to win.

Posted by: rikdergis at May 01, 2010 02:17 PM (GOx5K)

7 I was at the old dog track in Bridgeport @ noon-something...I also attended the illegal immigration parade in NYC. Good times.

Posted by: Winston at May 01, 2010 02:17 PM (wHNDY)

8 A bunch of fat cats betting their ill gotten gains on beasts running in a circle.  Like the stock market, only more colorful.

Too bitter?

9 Paddy O'Prado.

Posted by: Soap MacTavish at May 01, 2010 02:21 PM (554T5)

11 Currently at 19-1. Would be a nice little payoff.

Posted by: Soap MacTavish at May 01, 2010 02:22 PM (554T5)

Posted by: Cicero at May 01, 2010 02:28 PM (QKKT0)

16 We could take those horses and use them to carry troops into Mexico, and I think I'll propose legislation requiring just that tomorrow.

Posted by: John McCain at May 01, 2010 02:28 PM (P33XN)

17 Couldn't find fresh mint, so no mint juleps.

Bored to tears over the hour long BS.  Think I'll take a nap, golf tourney done wore my ass out.

Some horse will win again this year, hope the owners aren't as tacky as the last few.

Posted by: Kemp at May 01, 2010 02:29 PM (2+9Yx)

23 Whatever horse Calvin Burrell is on.

Posted by: Annabelle at May 01, 2010 02:32 PM (EXUK4)

24 Ever been?  It's Americana, and I love it, but in the good seats it's a festival of tipsy women looking like sausages in too-tight suits wearing hats that would be more appropriate at Mardi Gras, and in the infield, it's essentially an orgy in need of a tent revival and an AA meeting.  I can't wait to go back.

Posted by: Ombudsman at May 01, 2010 02:32 PM (y4B2y)

25 I think I'll stay in bed for this race.

Posted by: Khartoum at May 01, 2010 02:32 PM (QKKT0)

Oh well, great minds.

If she wins, you spring for the steel cut oats.

Posted by: Birdman at May 01, 2010 02:49 PM (UUkhk)

38 Oh, s k, I don't hate lawyers at all. I hate lawyer-kings. They are not smarter or more qualified than anybody else. As long as the know their place, I have no problem at all with them. Besides, if there's going to be a qualifier to rule over your fellow man, we mathematicians are ready. I promise to be ruthless but fair. But ruthless.

We need a version of PM's Question Time in the US.  The presidency is far too imperial.  Go to the well of the house and answer questions,  We Americans are entitled to answers.  I'm tired of the President as King.

True.  That's always been the arrangement.  Even with Dems in office, although Republicans have always known that if they don't bring up a subject, the Media won't touch it.

But the media now is worse.  Much worse, and even moreso now that they know they're dying.
