— Gabriel Malor Happy Monday.
Yesterday, the GAO released details on how Sec. Sebelius shook down outside companies for funding to promote Obamacare.
From Jim Geraghty's Morning Jolt (which you should subscribe to, if you aren't), about half of Georgia's healthcare sign-ups haven't paid.
More evidence that GM got kid glove treatment from federal regulators.
Unions are warming up to fracking.
Snowden's feelings are hurt that everyone thinks he's such a naif.
Gov. Perry's "makeover" is noticed by Politico. "He just seems like a very confident, upbeat and articulate spokesman for conservative policy and values," says former Perry staffer.

Brands including Barbie, iPod, Mug Root Beer and Life Savers showed up on the tests more than a million students in grades 3 through 8 took this month, leading to speculation it was some form of product placement advertising.
I suspect that the companies making these materials were paid to do this and they never contacted the State educrats at all. Why do I suspect this? Because this is the kind of crony corruption crap you ALWAYS get when you remove local control of a public function and give it to a centralized authority.

Called the “Truth in Advertising Act,” the bill was co-sponsored by Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen from Florida and Democratic Rep. Lois Capps of California.
So a RINO from FL (ACU 84) teams up with a Democrap from CA to push this crap. Hopefully it will be stuck in committee. She has done a few "conservative" things but it appears she has a liberal streak there as well.

The case arises from American Broadcasting Companies v. Aereo in which Aereo won against injunctive relief in the circuit court and the 2nd court of appeals. Copyright law is incredibly muddy but after looking at what is going on here I side with the networks. I like the "little guy" usually but I see this as pure copyright infringement.

An Israeli man is suing the Obama administration after Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx denied his complaint against Kuwait Airways for refusing to allow him to purchase a New York-London air ticket.
Not sure why he is not suing the airlines in US court because his case would be better there unless the lawyers are saying the airlines are "protected" because of a ruling from the government.

Instead of racing bills out of committee and onto the floor for a vote, the Virginia Republican and chairman of the House Judiciary Committee argues that he takes time to try to build consensus on issues such as immigration reform and an Internet sales tax.
IOW I have to get a lot of pressure on those pesky conservatives so we can implement amnesty and a new tax that everyone hates except big business. This RINO has an ACU rating of 84.

"10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or more,
the bloody Red Baron was rolling up a score,
80 men died trying to end that spree,
of the bloody Red Baron of Ger-man-eeÂ…"
They did a sequel, "Snoopy's Christmas:"
"The Baron then offered a holiday toast,
And Snoopy, our hero, saluted his host;
And then with a roar, they were both on their way,
Each knowing they'd meet on some other day."

What we need to do is first, totally eliminate the "federal war on drugs", all federal drug laws, the federal drug police and departments, and all federal subsidies to local police departments.
The the locals will have to fire about half of their departments and get rid of all the military SWAT teams except in big cities like NY and LA.
Then we need a serious reform of tort laws such that the COPs are held accountable and not the taxpayer. That means getting rid of the travesty known as joint and several liability.

Went to see "Captain America: TWS" over the weekend and LOVED it. Definitely worth the price of admission. Thank you to everyone who rec'ed it!
I managed to stay completely away from news all weekend, so I have no idea what fresh hell our mincing idiot of a Preezy or his merry band of miscreants have managed to get us into since Friday. I'm going to try and treasure my ignorance for a few more minutes before falling face first into a cream pie of cynicism.

When did it become necessary to pass legislation that "encourages" getting off your ass and out into the sunlight every now and again? Fuck that, and fuck you, NJ.

The dog's owner, Jorge Rodriguez, told NBC Los Angeles that the "attack" consisted of his dog barking at the stranger. Rodriguez almost managed to completely suppress his smirk while expressing sympathy for the deputy who tried to kill his dog.
If that had been me, I would have taken a bat to the deputy while he was limping. A year in jail would be a small price to pay to serve a little overdue justice on assholes like that.

Or the first time someone steps out into their front yard and yells at the neighbor kid for stealing fruit off their fruit tree. "How DARE you yell at my little angel! He was following the law, you heathen!"
