Kind of slow Friday and Ace had to um, run out for a bit. Seems there were some questions after last week's get together and well, let's just say Mexico is nice this time of year and there is no extradition treaty.

Also, we've been experience quite the traffic bump here lately (Obama...saving or creating tens of thousands of conservative blog hits a day!) but we may not have had the chance to meet everyone.

So if you're new here or a long time lurker, start carrying you weight and jump in on the comments. Consider this a safe swim period.

Last week's terror raid in Queens has apparently led to an Al Qaeda operative here in the US.

The Denver man at the center of an alleged New York bomb plot, Najibullah Zazi, has admitted he has ties to al Qaeda and is in negotiations to plead guilty to a terror charge, a senior law enforcement official told ABC News.

The official said Zazi had received explosives training and his possible guilty plea would be part of a deal to cooperate with the government.

...Zazi has been under investigation for almost a year, according to law enforcement and intelligence officials. The CIA reportedly first learned of his alleged al Qaeda ties when Zazi visited Pakistan and official said they later learned of "deeply troubling" conversations that were picked up on government intercepts.

A friend of mine emailed me asking how come the lefty blogs aren't questioning the timing of these arrests which are obviously timed to distract from Obama's health care failure.

He was kidding. I think.

It's interesting how Obama just doesn't seem to care much about this. This story really isn't getting much play, is it?

The left will say, 'well, Obama is too busy to be distracted and wants to keep these "nuisance" attacks in perspective'

Somewhat forgotten in fog of the many large domestic issues dominating our consciousness, is the ongoing struggle in Iran.

Today was Quds day, a day historically celebrated by demonstrating Iranian unity of purpose with other anti-Israeli neighbors.

During a speech for the rallies, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad railed against Israel and the West, questioning whether the Holocaust occurred and calling it a pretext for occupying Arab land.

Tens of thousands of protesters marched today with a different message.

Opposition supporters poured onto main boulevards and squares, wearing green T-shirts and wristbands and waving green banners and balloons. They waved pictures of opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi and denounced Ahmadinejad, chanting "death to the dictator."

Thugocracy goons waded in and attacked ex-president and Reform leader Mohamad Khatami. The attackers were repelled, and he was unharmed.

I'm sure just like me, you are all looking forward to a quick and decisive statement of condemnation of Iran's hard-line government from our own President...

If only there was a country left with the power, influence and moral fiber to have some ability to promote and support pro-democracy movements around the world. There used to be one - what was its name? Everything B.O. is such ancient history.

Apparently CJ's moderator Kilgore Trout went over there last night and started posting racist stuff. To see, he said, if it would be cleaned up.

It wasn't. Because both Allah and Ed were asleep. It being the middle of the night.

Actually, it's only arguably racist if you yourself believe that wookies = black people, which Kilgore Trout does.

So he spammed the threads with this, and it wasn't cleaned up to until the AM.

Obergruppenkommander Charles' conclusion? They're racists.

The White House is desperate. This is a move they didn't want to make; they wanted to keep Michelle out of the policy spotlight to avoid the negatives that Hillary racked up. The fact they're deploying her tells you they're down to betting their shoes and wedding rings.

Obama, meanwhile, in 2007, admitted people would have to pay higher taxes for his plan, and that "savings" alone wouldn't spare them. He also said that his public option plan would have to be subsidized, at least initially, a claim he now vehemently denies.

The best for last. The liberals want illegals covered. The moderates and conservatives don't. The solution? Easy. Don't cover illegals, but make all the illegals legal through amnesty.

He's now tying the unpopular health care plan to the most unpopular proposal of the past ten years, amnesty.

That ought to do the trick.

ObamaCare is amnesty.

I spend a lot more time savaging politicians than supporting them, but I have to make an exception. Matt Burden, who is BLACKFIVE, is running for the Illinois State Assembly. I understand the altruistic reasons for doing so even as I wonder why he would want to wallow in that cesspool. But if good people don't, then the swine will continue to rob us blind. His announcement at B5 is here, and I urge all to support him.
