The Obama Administration announced the cancelation of our anti-missile program in Poland & the Czech Republic on the 70th Anniversary of Stalin's invasion of Poland. Seventy years. To the day. I'm not a big conspiracy guy; but I'm also not a big coincidence guy either.

Anyway, that night I was listening to Michael Savage's show, and he theorized that Obama's abandonment of the missile defense program for our Eastern European allies had been traded away for Russia's toleration of a future strike against Iran's nuke program by the Israelis.

I don't know, that seems a little too.......competent for a strategy thought up in Obama's War Room. After all, he IS the man who placed Wile E. Biden, Suuuuuuuuuper Genius one heartbeat away from the presidency. This is a Machiavellian Move, and President Obama ain't no Machiavelli.

My thought is that Obama was going to cut the missile shield anyway, so what's the motivation for Putin & Russia to offer to pay him to do what he's already going to do anyway? That's like throwing a $20 on Paris Hilton's nightstand on your way out the door - she didn't ask for the money, and even if she had, do you think the money is the REAL reason why she let you treat her like a blow up *&^%-doll and videotape the whole thing so your friends could enjoy it too?

Are we supposed to believe that Obama is an Uber-manipulator, sort of how the Left used to portray Karl Rove? No, I pretty much believe that Halon's Razor is in effect here:

"Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity."

My question to all of you is this:

Which President scares you more: The master-manipulator who is seven moves ahead of his enemies in a worldwide game of chess, and considers Poland and the Czech Republic to be expendable pawns? Or Chauncey Gardiner with a cultivated skill at public speaking & a 1000-watt smile?

Which in this case can be excused, sorta, because the woman involved accused them of rape, and the guys were told by cops they'd rot in jail. Without the video, they just might have.

I'm not sure what lessons to draw from this. I guess Don't have a deviant orgy with an anonymous woman in a rest-stop bathroom is one, but I feel that's too restrictive. I mean, Never? Very categorical and reductivist, if you ask me. Lacks nuance.

I suppose it's possible they're doing just that but the media is ignoring them.

at least for non-profits. This case arises from a pro-abortion group that wished to run ads supporting Democrat candidates. The FEC told them that their contributions were limited and they sued under the 1st amendment. The appeals court overturned the FEC's ruling reasoning:

"The First Amendment, as interpreted by the Supreme Court, protects the right of individual citizens to spend unlimited amounts to express their views about policy issues and candidates for public office," the court ruling said. The First Amendment also "safeguards the right of citizens to band together and pool their resources as an unincorporated group or nonprofit organization in order to express their views about policy issues and candidates for public office."

I am sure there are 75 lawyer-commenters who will be willintg to tell me why I am wrong, but this seems very similar to the case that was just argued before the Supreme Court regarding the group that wanted to show the Hillary Clinton film in last years election. Is this a hint on how they will rule? I can't believe that the appeals court would release their ruling if they believed that in a couple months it was just going to be overturned. Oh wait scratch that. The 9th circuit does it on a daily basis.

Watching this in an hour, my favorite show on TV. The show seems like it was written, while drunk, in an hour. It's slapdash, the mysteries are only occasionally clever, half the show is just the main character behaving like an utter jackass, but for some reason it works.

It helps that every other episode is basically a parody of a movie like Friday the 13th or The Exorcist (good one) or, like, every single John Hughes high school movie (really good one).

CBS completely ripped off the show's premise -- a fake psychic using his mundane but elevated powers of observation to solve crimes -- for its "own" show, The Mentalist. The only difference is that the CBS show features a fake psychic who acknowledges he's a fake, whereas Psych features a fake psychic who, being a congenital liar who lies for no reason except it amuses him, pretends he really is psychic.
