ABC can devote entire segments to Obama swatting a fly on camera, but they report "news," not "noise"?

Meanwhile, the NYT continues claiming it's just too short-staffed to adequately cover this story.

After all, there is an economic recession they've got dozens of reporters assigned to not covering. They have only so many resources with which to not cover stories.

No Noise Here: Two weeks ago, World News Tonight ran a stunning expose... on the world's largest cheese-vault. Which smells, the reporter tells us, like a "teenager's dirty socks." Ripping the lid off the scandal now known as FromageGate.

Obviously, you know, they have a very high bar for what they consider newsworthy.

The rally doesn't seem to fill up The Mall like the O's inauguration did, but there are still a lot of people in The Mall area. A million seems too high a number, but something in the range of 3-500,000 is looking right.

State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo yesterday launched an investigation into pork-barrel grants given to ACORN by state lawmakers, as City Council Speaker Christine Quinn froze all city funding earmarked for the scandal-scared community-activism organization.

....Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes opened an investigation into the local office in response to a report in The Post.

Um, really? In response to a report in The Post?

Okay. If you say so.

A spokesman for Cuomo said the attorney general would seek to make sure pork-barrel grants directed to ACORN by state lawmakers were spent on tax-preparation and loan-counseling services, as intended.

"We are now closely monitoring that investigation to preserve the integrity of state funds," Cuomo spokesman Richard Bamberger said.

"We will be reviewing member-item contracts involving ACORN in light of the district attorney's investigation."

Read the whole thing. For the moment, while the heat's on, the state seems serious about freezing every ACORN dollar and subjecting the pork City Council members throw its way to "special scrutiny."

Here's what ACORN claimed... before the revelation of the NYC video:

This recent scam, which was attempted in San Diego, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia to name a few places, had failed for months before the results weÂ’ve all recently seen.

The statement was embarrassing enough that ACORN seems to have disappeared it forever from their site -- a pretty good red flag about the statement's "operativeness."

But that won't stop the NYT. The statement's great -- we just need to edit out a couple of words:

In a statement over the weekend, Bertha Lewis, the chief organizer for Acorn, said the bogus prostitute and pimp had spent months visiting numerous Acorn offices, including those in San Diego, Los Angeles, Miami and Philadelphia, before getting the responses they were looking for.

And just like that, ACORN's clear lie about O'Keefe and Giles striking out in New York City is airbrushed out of the picture, and the statement is presented as still possibly operative.

Duane Patterson of Town Hall places special emphasis on the fact that the "NY" in NYT stands for "New York." Hence, the New York Times would be expected to kinda know about the New York sting, being the paper's supposed jurisdiction and all.

By the way: I hear buzz that the "San Diego" part of that statement is about to take a blow today, too.

In a story about how the Obama Administration is debating internally "how hard" to hit back against conservative opponents -- so far, it seems, shock of shocks, they're delivering the attacks to liberal outlets (um, that would be the Past-Tense Media) to make the attacks on Obama's behalf as he stays "post-partisan" 'n stuff -- we have this revelation:

he White House officials are eager to avoid the perception that the president is directly engaging critics who appear to speak only for a vocal minority, and part of their strategy involves pushing material to liberal and progressive media outlets to steer the coverage in their direction, senior advisers said.

When critics lashed out at President Obama for scheduling a speech to public school students this month, accusing him of wanting to indoctrinate children to his politics, his advisers quickly scrubbed his planned comments for potentially problematic wording. They then reached out to progressive Web sites such as the Huffington Post, liberal bloggers and Democratic pundits to make their case to a friendly audience.

The controversy escalated, but by the time it was over, White House advisers thought they had emerged with the upper hand. The speech, they said, was the most-viewed live video on any government Web site in history, and they were pleased with the media coverage of the event.

But of course they were.

Democrats are alone when it comes to crying "racism" at every person who opposes the President's attempt to cripple our health care system:

Eighty-eight percent (88%) of Republicans reject the notion that most of the opponents are racist. So do 78% of voters not affiliated with either major party. However, just 39% of Democrats share that view. Twenty-two percent (22%) of those in the presidentÂ’s party say that most of the opposition to his plan comes from racists, and another 39% are not sure.

Yikes. Only thirty-nine percent of Democrats believe opposition to Obamacare is a genuine belief and not mostly motivated by racism. That explains why the Democrats didn't bother to sell their plan during the month of August and chose instead to namecall. That thirty-nine twenty-two percent represents the Democratic base which can be counted on to yell "racism" for the next three years no matter what's going on.

It's nice to see the squishy middle -- the "not affiliated" voters -- aren't buying the Democrats' immoral lie. I suspect that they will become less and less likely to put up with it as Obama's term continues and the thirty-nine twenty-two percenters cry racism at any opposition. This racism business was old thirty years ago.

Update:D'oh! Um, I think people who said I got the numbers wrong are racist...

188 years and they are still fighting for it.

Sadly, the US isn't so keen on their commitment to democracy and was much cooler to Honduras than to other nations in the region also celebrating their independence today.

In an effort to the job America's President and Secretary of State won't do, join me in congratulating the people of Honduras and wish them well in their continuing struggle for freedom.

Uh huh, sure she was.

The woman, identified on the video as Tresa Kaelke, appears on posted footage to be interested in cooperating the plan. However, California ACORN head organizer Amy Schur said the video is a gross misrepresentation of what actually happened.

"In this video, there are two actors who come into our office and who were messing with us. And our employee was messing with them," Schur said.

She said that the complete and unedited video needs to be released to the public.

Schur said that in a moment not shown on the edited video, Kaelke asked the undercover "pimp" if he was joking and then proceeded to play along with the joke.

Because claiming to have shot your husband is a laugh riot, as is a sex ring featuring underage girls illegally in the country. Maybe it was just me but I didn't get the sense that Tresa had such a wry sense of humor.
