Terry Moran of ABC tweeted that Obama had the same reaction to West's idiocy that everyone did but then pulls it down?

"In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview. This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again."

I'm kind of confused why an ABC reporter would have access to an 'off-the-record' comment made to CNBC. I don't see how Moran would be bound to a promise of 'off-the-record' made by CNBC. If Moran was somehow in a position to just over hear the remark, I don't get why he would be bound to keep CNBC's promise.

I'll be curious to see what the full circumstances of this were.

Either way, this is the second thing Obama has done or said today I am in complete agreement with. Frankly, it scares me a bit.

Even if ACORN goes defunct -- which is a genuine possibility at this point -- we all know that the same people will simply start working for a "new" organization with the same management and same staff. Just one new rule: No free tax advice for child sex slavers.

John Nolte writes this is the media's Waterloo, as there is a big, interesting, important story out there the public actually now knows of, and knows damn well the "news" media isn't even mentioning it. And they know there's only one possible reason for that.

The media could have chosen to clean up their acts and to do their jobs, or to commit suicide and pretend they can still hide a story from the public. They can't, and the public now sees their agenda and unprofessionalism exposed.

A third video implicating the ACORN workers was released today. Meanwhile, the ACORN Institute, one of many ACORN affiliates, has applied for over $6 million in grant money for broadband projects. ACORN and its various affiliates have received at least $53 million in federal funds since 1994.

The Commerce DepartmentÂ’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and the Department of Agriculture's Rural Utilities Service (RUS) have announced that they have received about 2,200 applications requesting nearly $28 billion in funding that applies to all 50 states and Washington D.C.

Yeah, ACORN, the taxpayer check is in the mail.

Until recently, few knew much about ACORN or the reach of its 300-plus organizations with a hundred-million-dollar budget. The main financial sustenance for the behemoth comes from unions (which outsource dirty work, strategy, and anti-corporate attacks to the group), powerful and politically minded non-profit foundations, political campaigns (including $800,000 from then-Senator Barack ObamaÂ’s presidential campaign in 200 and taxpayer money.

That public trough has been open to those who seem to feel they are more equal than others. The Washington Examiner investigated and found out that “at least $53 million in federal funds have gone to ACORN activists since 1994.”...

A large chunk of that money flows from the federal government to the ACORN Housing Corporation (AHC). On the group’s IRS filings for the fiscal year ending in June 2007, AHC reported taking in more than $2.8 million in that year alone — accounting for approximately 30 percent of that year’s budget...

Navy Seals from U.S. Special Operations Forces conducted a raid in southern Somalia on Monday that killed Saleh Ali Saleh Nabhan, one of 4 co-conspirators wanted in the 2002 bombing of an Israel owned hotel in Mombasa, Kenya, two senior U.S. military officials told FOX News.

...Two MH-6 Little Bird helicopters deployed from one of two U.S. Navy vessels near Somalia's coast strafed a vehicle Nabhan was using to go back and forth between meetings. Intelligence operatives had been monitoring Sabhan prior to the attack. The helicopters passed once, firing on the vehicle, and then circled back around to retrieve the body so they could make a positive identification, according to one official.

Credit where it is due...apparently Obama personally signed off on this mission. Not a stand off missile attack, not a police raid to arrest the guy but an out and out attack to kill the SOB.

That? That's the good stuff.

Just watching the vote now and it's going to pass with a lot of Democrat votes. Several Senators changed their votes from "no" to "yes" when it became clear it would pass.

Sen. Mike Johanns has proposed an amendment to block federal funding for a national organization that works to provide education and housing opportunities for low-income people.

Johanns' amendment would prohibit the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now from receiving funds from the current transportation and housing appropriations bill. Johanns cited 30 cases of voter fraud by ACORN workers.

"It's wrong to give tax dollars to a group with multiple convictions of undermining our democratic process and our laws," Johanns said Monday in a news release.

Now this is a long way from being final. I doubt it's in the House bill and it might be quietly killed in the conference report that will make up the final bill.

Even if it doesn't become law, a lot of liberals (including Al Franken, Harry Reid and Arlen Sepcter) have just voted against ACORN.
