As the only Geophysical Engineer here (Colorado School of Mines - BS - 1984), I can attest that ACD exists and endangers us all.   Clearly ACD is a white man's plot to remove Sudan from the center of the world.

But, I am happy to report, there is good news.  Based on my indepth and extensive hours of research, the first manifestations of ACeD is pigs.  Yes, you heard me right - pigs.  This means no more bacon!

Nothing has the potential to mobilize the world to action like the possibility of life without bacon. 

I am happy to report that based on mathematical computations by some of the finest first grade students in Chickasaw county Mississippi, the googleplex of dollars in new taxes necessary to combat this problem will be raised in weeks, months at the most.

I wish to make the announcement of my acceptance in advance, for my Nobel Prize.  As soon as the movie is out, I will be happy to accept my Oscar, as well.

These cycles have been going on for millions of years. They're a new phenomena to people only because people with reason have been on the earth for only about 25,000 years, a tiny fraction of the time that these cycles have been going on.

Take, for example, the Sahara Desert. As recently as 100,000 years ago, that was a marshy swampland. It's no big deal in relative terms. Changing  CO2 emissions isn't going to do squat, nor is it going to have any significant effect on the cycles of which I speak. Hell, the farts by dynosaurs created more methane gas and CO2 than all of the factories in China do. Let's get real here, folks.

151 Denigrating anthropomorphic global warming (AGW) is not productive.  The fact is that atmospheric CO2 is increasing.  The fact is the CO2 can be a contributor to recycling IR emissions from Earth into "something" involving temperature.  We do not know what "something" is, AFIK, given the current state of atmospheric modeling.

The fact is that climate models are in their infancy.  No one knows if the increasing CO2 is a positive feedback (increasing global temperature),a negative feedback (decreasing global temperature),  or neutral, since so much of CO2's absorptive and  emissive specra overlap those of water, which could be the ultimate moderator of earth's temperature. [I'm sorry: I do believe that the bulk of coupled atmospherid/oceanic models might show something, at this date I am unaware of seminal reseach in these areas.  My bad, but you know what?  If there are definitive global temperature models that work, we Monday Morning Quarterbacks should be apprised of these in notes from researchers in this area.]

We have been accosted by ClimateGate, in which it appears to most of us that there is a lot of unscientific, self-serving, hanky-panky going on with respect to proxy "inferences" of global temperature that have, in fact, been unscientifically manhandled to show that global temperatures are increasing.

Back to the fact: global CO2 is increasing.  To date it appears to many of us that refuse to believe in the manhandled proxy temperatures that "support" global warming, that there is much significant research (open, transparent, peer reviewed with transparency) that needs to be done on the singular, proved, data that show that global atmospheric CO2 concentration is increasing. 

The upshot is that no one knows the effects of increasing atmospheric CO2 on the globe as a complete dynamic entity.  It is not enough for us to accept the perfidy involved in current proxy global temperature measurements as a means to deny the POSSIBILITY that we are indeed driving the planet to certain death from increasing atmospheric CO2.

The real issue with AGW is that the research has been hijacked away from improving global climate models, and the modelling is a HUGE issue, even given our embodiment of super computing systems.  We need perhaps ten years of efficient funding of climate modeling research, coupled with the new satellite date on average temperatures, to derive a genuinely believable and justifiable climate model that can do justice to the question "what's up with increasing CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere?

My viewpoint on this question is that governmental entities recognize that much significant research must be done to answer the unquestioned observation that atmospheric CO2 is increasing (note that methane, CH4 should be included in this statement).

The answer to the the question of What's up with Increasing Atmospheric CO2? must be re-addressed, since I believe that it is an unalterable fact the CO2 is increasing, linearly.

Sorry, I had a couple of Martinis.  I hope this makes sense: we still need to do the research and not let the manipulators and cheaters deflecting ud from the goal of providing believable, repeatable proof of what the unalterable fact of increasing atmospheric CO2 means to the future of the planet.

Since the AGW evangelists have been caught packing the  code of their climate modeling software with what they openly described as the "fudge factor", may I suggest we begin referring to warmenistas as "Fudge Packers"? This would be a very handy way to address Chrissy Matthews, Rachel Madcow, Olberbite, and all others who happily hurl about the "teabagger" slur while prosyletizing about the dangers of global warmyness.
