Chris Matthews: West Point an "Enemy Camp" Full of "Rabble"
— Ace

Outrageous? I didn't think so until he poured on further contempt of the troops by stating that Paul Wolfowitz used to go to West Point to "rabble-rouse" -- our troops being the "rabble."

So the "enemy camp" thing I took in a You know what he means way.

And then he had to follow that up with "rabble-rouse." Rouse up the ignorant, wild-eyed rabble. Of West Point.

100 This one needs to go out to the VFW and every other vets organization in the country.  MSNBC needs to face the full wrath of everyone who has ever taken and oath to uphold and defend the Constitution (I don't think Chrissy has ever done that.) This could generate enough stink to get Chrissy yanked from the air.

Chrissie's lazy-assed, affirmative action boyfriend wouldn't last 10 seconds at West Point. And I'm pretty sure that deep down, Chrissie knows it.

That's why he's so angry. Because these guys won't give his boy credit for a list of phony accomplishments the way everyone on the Left does.

Actually, down here in our part of the country, Comcast dropped MSNBC, along with Chris Matthews, 5 or 6 months ago, because a poll showed that so few people here in our part of the woods were even bothering to watch any of the programs on MSNBC. Their ratings sucked for 20 years before Comcast realized that hardly anybody around here was watching MSNBC. In fact, CNBC is scheduled to be dropped in January, to be replaced by Home Shopping Network, a program us rednecks love to watch ..., that, and brightly colored test patterns.

He is going to be a paratrooper, and I admire his couage. It makes me literally sick to think that my stepson is willing to put his life on the line for his country, while the pasty white, sissy, Chrissy Matthews defames him, his leaders, and anyone else who has the committment to serve in the United States military. And this comes from someone who can't stand Matthews, and usually would not judge him favorably.

Posted by: Phil at December 01, 2009 09:31 PM (cBaCB)

160 Don't be so harsh on Chrissypoo. "Enemy camp full of rabble" is just another euphemism for "tingle up my leg" - he's gotta keep saying it differently because he took so much heat when he originally said it, and he doesn't want to alienate anyone who watches MSNBC, because those 287 people are important to hold on to. So while Chris might appear down in the dumps and critical, he's really not. It's all part of a savvy and sexy and intelligent sexual big picture:

Long face on Matthews really = a happy face inside.
Dispassionate tone of voice = upbeat outlook.
Hunched shoulders = leg waiting to be tingled, and yes "enemy camp" also = a waiting leg. So does checking his watch, licking his lips, using a sanitary toilet seat paper wrapping, dry humping Barney Frank, etc.

Chris is far more clever than you think.

Matthews is a dirt bag.

165 Given Matthews "enemy camp full of rabble" lead meshes well into the over arching theme Obama posed last night.* The existence of our military is a threat to world peace. Peace can only occur when the military either gets out of the way or transforms into an unarmed diplomatic entourage. That Obama had the gall to force feed our West Point "Rabble" his snake oil was not surprising. His wondrous oratory hypnotized some into a troubled snooze.

*I'll admit I'm projecting what I expect was the "over arching theme" from the single portion of the speech I dared watch live. We decided here to avoid the consternation it would cause last night, as we're fighting off a virus and needed a good night's rest. Since we just can't stand to hear Obama speak, the upset will come later this morning when we read his speech.

That's some pretty galling honesty from the Left.  It sickens me, but at the same time I see a silver lining.  The more the Left turns the officer corp against it, the better.  I doubt the army would ever work to actively suppress the Right, but it would be even better to have them take action to support our struggle, should the time come.  Hopefully the leftists will continue to insult the armed forces by expressing their true feelings - if they do perhaps that truth will set us free.

170 As a graduate of West Point (class of '83), I can assure you that any hostility toward Obama had little to do with his politics.  It had more to do with the fact that these cadets had to spend a good chunk of their valuable free time sitting in an auditorium, listening to this nimrod.  At the best of times, loading 4500 people into Ike Hall takes time.  I guarantee that it took even longer with everyone having to go through metal detectors and such.  For instance, Ronald Reagan's first public appearance after this assassination attempt was to speak at graduation for the class of '81.  The Corps had to be at the stadium by 6:00 for a 10:00 graduation so that the Secret Service could process everyone through the metal detectors.  I would bet that the Corps had to start entering Ike Hall at least 2 hours before the speech, so that they could be seated before all the dignitaries arrived.  I would also bet that it took at least an hour to get the place cleared since the bigwigs would have to clear out first.  It probably cost the cadets at least 4 hours.

This time of year, you need every minute to study. Papers are due.  Term End exams are coming up in the next week or so.  Time is at a premium under normal circumstances.  Instead of studying, the cadets were forced to sit through a speech so that they could be used as props in Obama's traveling road show.

That's why they might not have been as enthusiastic as Chrissy would have liked.

West Point only accepts people with brains. And character.
