Definitely does have "Terromistanke" right in the headline, though.

Maybe these guys are really just fans of Al Gore and wanted to reduce the planet's carbon footprint by blowing up jet-setting limo-cruising "Carbon Terrorists."

45 To be fair to Mann, not all of that $6mil is salary. About 1/3rd of every grant is that BS called "overhead" that goes directly to the university. Which is why universities love grants, no matter what they're for.

I'm sure a lot of that was for travel, graduate students, etc.

Basically, he gets a 9-month salary from PSU and the grants pay him 2 months more salary, unless things are structurally far different for his research area.
