[DrewM.] This is the first post I ever read here at the HQ. I found the place through Allah's old site which, while I love the HQ, was the funniest thing ever on the internet back in 04/05 and maybe since.

It took me weeks, maybe months before I screwed up the courage to comment here, so if you are new to the site (and given the growth in the last year many are), don't be shy. Jump in. Hell, you might even become a co-blogger someday. That's when you'll know your life is a total waste.

[Russ] Yeah, what Drew said. I've only been a coblogger here for about 30 months, and you can see why Ace gave me a set of keys here.

Natural talent for the written word? Not really necessary when you've got polaroids of Ace with a motel room full of goats in lingere. Not that the aforementioned pictures EXIST, mind you. At least not as far as you know.

I found Ace when that whatsername blogass made the news for being John Edwards official blogger when she'd already posted all kinds of Christian hatism. Somehow it directed me here. Maybe Ace responded to her? Dunno, but glad I found this place. May you reach the dregs of middle age.

136 I found this hellhole place through a link on a "mainstream" site. Honest to Gawd, it was the first blog I ever visited. That was three years ago. I'm still here. At the time the thing that caught my attention was that Kimberly Ace's style reminded me of Joe Bob Briggs...IYKWIMAITYD. There was also some funny shit in the comments. I kept coming back. (Didn't the comments used to display in a HaloScan-type format ?) AoSHQ has gone to hell in handbasket only gotten better. I don't comment much but read every day several times a day. Keep slaughtering hobos by the dozen up the great work, Ace. Happy Birthday.

Don't remember when I first read something here.

Do remember that when I first made a comment, every other, single comment used my posting name and said something evil about me, which seemed a bit unanimous. There was apparently code operating, back then, that did that to every reader of comments. Or, maybe I really suck.

139 I discovered Ace right after McCain selected Palin for his VP. I didn't even know what a "blog" was, back then, but when I googled Palin, this site came up. Some of the comment threads were so good I laughed till I about choked.

Life has never been the same since.

Thanks to Ace, I soon discovered other wonderful blogs such as Gateway Pundit, Doug Ross, Nice Deb, The People's Cube, Bare Naked Islam, The Religion of Peace, Atlas Shrugs and American Thinker, to name just a few. Now I'm a hopeless blog addict. I probably ought to sue you for rehab.

Instead, I'll just say Happy Birthday--and keep those daily (sometimes hourly) fixes comin'!

142 Oh yeah, I forgot my story on how I discovered Ace.

It was last summer and I had googled conservative blogs and Newsbusters came up. After checking out the site I noticed there was a list of blogs under "Blog-roll" and well, Ace was the first one and so I clicked away. What I liked about the site was that it wasn't super conservative in terms of language and that he sometimes cursed. I felt more at home here. And don't get me started on you guys!
