— Purple Avenger How many of these Obama promises have turned out to be lies?
Offers a public health insurance option to provide the uninsured and those who canÂ’t find affordable coverage with a real choice.Right away we know that one is down the tubes in what the Senate is going to vote on. But wait...didn't Obama claim he didn't campaign on the public option? Yea, he did. Wait a minute...that link is his own campaign website claiming there will be a public option.
There's kinda two choices here: he lies, or he lies. Take your pick.
Peruse the promises yourself and comment on how the Reid/Pelosi "sausage" stacks up against the promises.

Iraq, Afghanistan, Spending, Nuclear power, drilling, taxes, bailouts, transparency, 'whitehouse 2.0', 'all business on C-SPAN', support our old allies (Britain, France, Germany, Israel), support newer allies (India, Poland, Ukraine, other former soviet puppets), support the spread of democracy (Iran, Georgia, Syria, Lebanon), support partners of necessity (Pakistan), invade Pakistan, stop illicit firing in Pakistan, bring civility to the Whitehouse, bring competence to the Whitehouse, more coherent WH communications, banish lobbyists, rampant bipartisanship, true progress with our enemies (Iran, Syria, Venezuala, North Korea), true progress in making allies of our adversaries (Russia, China), wall-to-wall speechifying.
(I had to stop for anti-carpal tunnel exercises. More as needed.)
One out of, um, a whole lot. I give it a B+.

I thought Odipshit did terribly (esp. economics & foreign policy) during debate with McLame last fall. ( Ugh, that voice....blah...blahblahblah, uh, blahblah....) Next, I heard overandoverandover about how he 'won' the debate. Huh? I thought the most intelligent thing he'd said was: "Senator McCain is absolutely right."

Insurance is the problem, not the solution.
We need a single payer system, alright....and that payer should be the patient.
The free market system actually works when it is ALLOWED to work.

From Instapundit & Washington Examiner, check out the Chicago Boyz, who are CrowdSourcing the "Contract with America 2.0"
The GOP is not exactly the sharpest bunch of elephants on the savannah.
They are looking at a historic threat, and a historic opportunity, with the Democrats making massive and unpopular changes to the foundations of our economy and our government.
But I am seeing just about zero leadership in the opposition ranks. Gov. Palin, who is now a bystander, has accomplished more with her Facebook page than most of the elected legislators have managed to do from their roost in DC.....
.....Question for our dear readers: What should CWA 2.0 have in it?
Over 200 comments there, i think we morons can think of a few others

By their very nature, people who become Dmocrats have histories of soiling, perverting and poisoning everything with which they come into contact. You realize, don't you, that they're trying to drag the rest of us down into the sewer with them? They won't be content until this is the sleaziest country on this planet. In just eleven months, it's gotten halfway there already.Just think, by this time next year, the USA could be another Kenya or Angola or Somalia.

Take a nice leisurely drive around the DC beltway on Jan 20th. Invite your friends to join you for lunch somewhere on the other side of town but just don't hurry. Leave around 5 AM or so. Take your time, traffic might be bad, you know. Meet up for lunch to watch the news. Head for home (or the motel) around 2 PM and get there around 10 PM. Be sure to be safe and drive defensively because there may be others who are enjoying a nice drive too. Take the LONG way home. Lots of sights to see along the beltway, you wouldn't want to miss them.

41 Warning to the M&M's: I was on here earlier and picked up the fake virus scan trojan.

I have already used a program that wipes all cookies and temporary files. Be careful about sockpuppeting a regular; Ace is hard on that.
I am currently on my wife's computer hopefully the trojan was on an ad that has gone away.
I am currently signed on to Trend Micro on the other computer doing a full search. Hopefully that will clear up the problem. If not I guess it will be time to take down the drive, reformat, and reload.
Bye all for now; may be back later if everything works.
Posted by: Vic at December 24, 2009 06:06 AM (QrA9E)
McAfee sucks big time, and what's more, when their crappy software doesn't catch and quarantine or delete a virus or another intruder, they charge you $99.00 to remove that intruder that their crappy software failed to catch. In the meantime, your computer slows down and you get a lot of stalls.
There is no such thing as a free lunch anymore. You get what you pay for, or in the case of McAfee, you get what you don't pay for..
Posted by: Greg at December 24, 2009 06:08 AM (Cta0m)
That was an accident Vic. I meant to type your name as a heading at the top of that block of info I sent you. I don't know how it got in the "Name" block. In other words, I wasn't trolling you on purpose. (I need a mug of coffee.)
BTW, you don't need to go to that bother. «
"If not I guess it will be time to take down the drive, reformat, and reload." - Vic
If you're still having problems, tell me what they are exactly, and I'll walk you through the steps that will clear up your problems in a jiffy without going to all of that bother.
Posted by: Greg at December 24, 2009 06:17 AM (Cta0m)
People will tolerate being lied to if they don't really know it's a lie. By that, I mean they know it's a lie but, in the absence of evidence, they can believe it. Once they know for sure, all bets are off.
I liken it to Tiger Woods. As long as his wife didn't know for sure, she could pretend everything was OK. Once she knew, well, we know what happened.
Congress needs to watch out for voters carrying golf clubs.

Subtitled: Three-Card Monte* on Steroids
The Short List.. (I'm sure you can think of more):
"I don't want to run a car company"
Yet,
He picks the CEO's and dictates their pay.
"I won't be beholden to the Health insurance lobby"
Yet,
The Insurance Industry will make increased profits in the Health Bill.
"I want affordable Health Insurance for everyone."
Yet,
Not only will rates rise, but more people will be forced to buy it.
"I don't want to run an insurance company."
Yet,
He picks the CEO's, and dictates their pay.
"Afghanistan is the war of necessity that must be won."
Yet,
He takes months to decide to give his commander less than what he wants.
"I want to be independant of foreign oil."
Yet,
He refuses to drill for oil, puts more regulations on the coal industry, refuses to build nuclear power plants, and oil refineries.
"It will no longer be 'Business as Usual in Washington.'"
Yet,
Not only is it "Business as Usual", it's WORSE than usual, with more sweetheart deals, and unmitigated, in-your-face bribery, than ever before.
"I will be Transparent."
Yet,
Transparency is non-existant.
"I will close Gitmo."
Yet,
Gitmo will remain open, albiet, under new management and geographical location.
"I will not sign any bill with ear-marks, I will go through it, line by line."
Yet,
He signs bills with unheard of amounts of earmarks.
"I will not sign any bill that raises the deficit."
Yet,
He's poised to sign a bill that raises deficits by TRILLIONS.
*Three-Card Monte is a form of The Shell Game, a con-game using cards instead of shells.. It relies on trickery, to fool someone to look "there" while the con-artist is doing something else "here.".. Most times, there's an associate (surrogate) involved, to help lead the "mark" in the wrong direction and take the heat when they lose.
The only way you can beat this two-bit street hustler and his associates is, by kicking their asses and taking all of their money.
