— DrewM Obama's spin is that he didn't campaign on the public option but he sure did sound like he wanted one in the clip from earlier this year the group uses.
Go get them guys! Tell your progressive friends in the House to fight this sellout to the greedy insurance companies! Don't give in! Don't give up! Yes! You! Can!
Even the White House spokesmen at NBC admit Obama was opposed to an individual mandate throughout the campaign. He also promised to sign a bill that was deficit neutral (no one really believes any of that) or that there would be no new or increased taxes on anyone earning less than $250,000. So you know...he lies.
BTW-As of yesterday, President Present's administration won't say if it favors the House or Senate bill.
We all know that Obama favors the Senate bill for the simple reason it's the only one with a prayer of passing both houses. That's the bottom line in all of this...pass something. Then they can begin spinning it and try and work on the popularity of the bill. Right now the indecision and infighting is killing them. They simply need to get it off the front page.

The Precedent doesn't care what the bill looks like. He just wants to cause chaos, and attacking limited government and our Constitutional restrictions on the federal government through health care does that - no matter the specifics.
The Precedent never cared about any details of anything, which is why he let Congress run free with every bit of legislation. All the Indonesian imbecile wants is to tear this nation apart. The wording is of little consequence. He is more impressed with the way the institutions of the Senate and House have been turned into totally hostile entities that are attacking the US - just as the White House. This is The Precedent's goal, and the useful idiots in the Washington junta are more than happy to oblige.

Right now it looks like the left made a really bad decision in going with Obama over Hillary.

If so, they must think final passage is DOA...why keep postponing the victory celebration?
Plus, the heat Nelson is getting may yet unravel his deal, leaving him in the delicious dilemma of being the 60th with no pork for NE, or changing his mind, voting no and becoming worthless to the demos forever.
Schadenfreude indeed.

There are some who say that we must ban health care and others who claim that we should just make doctors work for free. I reject both of these strawmen and instead believe we must do whatever the heck ends up in Harry Reid's bill. And we must reject the fear mongering and partisanship so common now or else billions of Americans will die because of George Bush's broken health care system. Now is not the time for words and blaming other, but actions! And in that light, I will be speaking to you, America, every night, in prime time, for the rest of the year.
Make no mistake, I will spare no effort in getting this deal done, except on date night Friday, concert Wednesday, golf Saturday, and "watch myself give speeches" Sunday.

In an Oval Office interview with The Washington Post, Obama rejected criticism that he has compromised too much to secure health-care reform or turned over too much authority to congressional leaders in pursuing his broad legislative agenda.
"Overall, if you had a checklist of promises made, a lot of those promises have been kept," Obama said. "When those things are complete, and I think they will be, we will have achieved a fundamental shift in health care, energy, education and our financial regulatory system that will put this economy on a firmer footing to grow over the long term."
"I didn't campaign on the public option," Obama said in the interview.

Well, John Kyl and Judd Gregg just BFed the Dems even worse. CBO has confirmed to them that the Democrats have double-counted $500 billion as both extending the solvency of Medicare and funding the new expansion of Medicaid. So there is no deficit-neutrality in this bill and, as Sen. Gregg stated so delightfully, "it rips off our seniors and saddles our kids with a mountain of new debt."

So ... how is it that the CBO missed this double counting of a half a TRILLION dollars? Great analysis, there. This is so far beyond a joke that I don't even know what the appropriate reaction should be.

Once upon a time, CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf walked over to the White House upon invitation for a personal meeting with President Obama. It was the first time a CBO Director had ever met with anyone from the White House.

Don't drink it all in one evening!
I (vaguely) remember one year getting a Christmas bonus of a $100 bill. That was when the big ass party store was a short detour on my drive home, too.

Jeebus, sounds just like my old lady! And everytime she says that, I perversely conclude that the only responsible thing to do is exactly that! It's almost like she's trying to get me to drink myself into an early gr..... oh, wait...

Yeah, but Clinton was one smoooooth mofo; he had an almost uncanny ability to lie through his teeth and yet not piss off everyone he was blatantly lying to. Obama is pretty much the opposite.

Tomorrow's vote is the victory Barry... let the House and Senate work the details... Keep talking at the American People... You said it yourself... Solid B+... Your work is done... Take a vacation... a nice long one.... Don't forget you'll be campaigning for re-election before you know it. And that's tough work.... Bath in you success. A little delay won't increase the chances of Congress securing defeat.... Geaux Barry Geaux....

Its gonna have to be one more famous than Brittany Murphy. And while we're waiting for celebrities to die, would it be too much for a Democrat Senator who is on life support anyway to go ahead and croak?
