Prediction from Hussein the Plumber, Swami and Climate Scientist.
Obama, to counteract the effect of his plummeting polls, and in an attempt to comfort those Dems he has successfully asked to sacrifice their future in politics, will try to Alynski the entire right side of the political spectrum but mainly the Republican party. He will do this at every opportunity and the active campaigning is already started. It will grow to a fast boil. Watch the MSM pick up the ball and carry it for Barry as well.

Economy: 45 / 51
you're shitting me, right?
But this is the one that is important:
State of the Country
46% Right Direction, 46% Wrong Direction
And this is proof of the Democrats having superior political skills:
Do you think the current economic conditions are mostly something President Obama inherited or are they mostly a result of his own policies?
65% Inherited, 27% Obama's policies

I'm not so sure about that because it's pretty obvious that Iraq and the economic downturn occurred under Bush. As unfortunate as the recession is and as necessary as the war was, they can't be ignored. Of course it didn't help that Bush wasn't as vocal about either as much as he could have been.

Yeah, not only have people been brainwashed into the thinking the Republicans controlled Congress until 2009, they also forgot Obama was a member of that Democrat-controlled Congress.

Iskandar, point taken.
But it's been a year now and the economy is getting worse. I know people are being told it's getting better, but it's hard to ignore the facts on the ground. So Obama rightfully deserves the blame for the current economy. It is Obama's policies that are(is?) keeping us from a recovery.

A fair observation, except that the Iraq war was already won under Bush, and the American people know it. And most importantly, a moderately serious, but somewhat routine downturn in the business cycle was fucked into a cocked hat by the Jackass-controlled Congress, who managed to turn it into the worst economic crisis in 35 years. Bush didn't help matters by acquiescing, it's true.

True Bush was president, but who had taken congress in 2006? Obama and his buddies.
In fairness, Congress is generally more important then the President on economic issues anyway. So hopefully the electorate is realizing electing a liberal congress equals a recession or worse. If we had a conservative congress, or even one of McCain clones, we wouldn't have had a mortgage meltdown...

The Democrats got a lot of mileage out of saying "we gotta fix the failed policies of the last 8 years," and Obama, everytime he's asked about the shitty economy, likes to use of "it's gonna take longer than a few months to fix the mess created over 8 years."
These excuses have a built in expiration date, but hopefully the Democrats won't notice and they'll continue to use them.

Understood and I agree. That poll question made me read it twice because it stands out, so I had to re-think the context. Most people are apolitical and don't reflect on the current situation until a pollster for example asks them*. That is until things get really, really bad, and we're not quite there yet. Anything's possible and I suspect we're both on the same page in terms of another sudden downturn but the public seems to spend more of it's psychic energy worrying about other stuff.
*Also, that reminds, the poll post doesn't specifically report the order of the questions. Obviously the order of the questions might change people's answers as they drill down into the set. The inherited question could have been first or last, it's not clear from their summary.

Lock and Load!
Now 'all Guns' must be listed on your next (2010) tax return!
As if we didn't have enough to get upset about. If you have a gun, I hope it isn't registered!
Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal tax form all guns that you have or own... It will require fingerprints and a tax of $50 per gun. This bill was introduced on Feb.. 24, 2009, by the Omama staff. BUT . . this bill will only become public knowledge 30 days after the new law becomes effective. This is an amendment to the Internal Revenue Act of 1986. This means that the Finance Committee has passed this without the Senate voting on it at all.
The full text of the IRS amendment is on the U.S. Senate homepage,U.S. Senate
www dot senate dot gov. You can find the bill by doing a search by the bill
number, SB-2099.
Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because the government is trying to fly it under the radar as a 'minor' IRS revision, and, as usual, the 'political'
lawmakers did not read this bill before signing and approving it.

Being cavalier and resigning yourself to something you can't stop are two different things.
My usual response to people who tell me to "email my Senator!" is to roll my eyes and snort. My reps are Senators "Rodeo Clown" Franken and Klobuchar; my House rep is Tim Walz. All three lean so far to the left that it's a wonder they don't fall over. Any letter I'd send would be a) ignored, b) ridiculed, or c) laughed at and then used as emergency bung-wipe at the campaign headquarters. In short: letter-writing, demonstrating, or phone calling is a pluperfect waste of time. They regard me, and I regard them, as members of the enemy camp on whom discussion is wasted.
I will vote against them whenever I have the opportunity, but it's an uphill fight in this state. But try to "engage" with them? Waste. Of. Time.

Sure, disapproval is at 44%, but presidents don't get reelected with 46% approval.
Still, this is a bit better for Obama than other polls. I'd like to see what sample they guessed was accurate. The sample is the key to reading any poll. But if this is the best result for Obama, it's a shockingly massive failure of confidence. After all the hype and the massive popularity upon inauguration, he's now literally unpopular.
