— Ace Rock the Vote is nonpartisan (wink, wink).
Eh. Probably doing the rest of us a favor.
The political advocacy group “Rock the Vote” has a new video out encouraging young people to abstain from having sex with folks opposed to healthcare reform.Sadly, this isn’t your run of the mill call for celebacy, for the video also instructs youth to use sex to get people to change their minds on this issue.
The group’s YouTube posting asks: “What would you withhold from someone who opposes health care reform? Cookies, a Christmas gift, sex?”
Pretty racy for an organization whose mission is to “give young people the tools to identify, learn about, and take action on the issues that affect their lives, and leverage their power in the political process[.]”

I had someone tell me recently that MoveOn.org was nonpartisan. Turns out their definition of "nonpartisan" was "says stuff I agree with."

anti-Obama bumper stickers, 'cause they worry their car will be vandalized?
It's way past time to park a car with a conservative sticker and wait in a van for one of those pieces of trash to start smashing it. Then just stomp them into a mudhole. Hell in Texas it's arguably legal to shoot them. Need to look into that.

The problem with liberalism is its millenialism. Just give us power over every part of your existence, and we will give you utopia. If paradise was really so close to your grasp, who wouldn't try to force it on to the populace? And if it require a little deceit, corruption, or abuse of power, well isn't that worth stopping the eco-apocalpyse? Creating world wide peace forever and ever? It might even be worth "cracking a few eggs".
So, I don't think the "ends-justify-the-means" is the best angle of attack on liberalism, but the insanity of what the end is.

Big insult to Christians celebrating Christmas for the Senate to work on that night. They are showing people that the judeo christian ethic no longer matters in this country. These idiots in the senate are too stupid to realize that people will be insulted and will not forget. The pres can keep his hit list and the people can vow to make sure anyone who works that night and votes this in, doesn't get re elected. And, from what I've heard, for some people, this will become a compulsion.

One of the central reasons for federalism is that with it you can see the failure of bad ideas and the success of good ones in individual states. We've seen Obamacare fail in several states, but now those same states are about to push it on the rest of the country since we now have provinces instead of states...

Antioch College here in Yellow Springs, Ohio. (Actually it's defunct at this point--what a heartbreaking day that was).
Although it was bad for the head shops, used music shops and the dirty god-awful health food restaurants there, Antioch closing was the best that could happen to it. It was started by do-gooder Horace Mann, but devolved into a completely bizarre and illegitimate institution of learning that made Cal Berkeley look like a military institution by comparison.
It's scheduled to reopen with a new board of trustees who are actually going to demand they teach something there.
I remember driving through Yellow Springs last fall and there were still dozens of Kerry/Edwards campaign signs in front yards

If the only information source you had is the State Media, then I can certainly see why you viewed capitalism in a negative light. One constantly sees capitalism as a tool of the wealthy to steal from the poor on tv, in movies, etc.
But the basic idea of capitalism is sound - you get to keep what you earn - and therefore the idea will be appealing until the left finishes its newspeak project.

Well, sure, but what's so bad about those means?
The ends-justify-the-means thing involves breaking some sort of overriding moral code. For example, are you willing to lie about what you propose? Are you willing to break journalistic ethics? To kill?
The
problem with liberalism is its millenialism.
No, what I think you're arguing is that they have convinced themselves that the ends are so catastrophic that they now justify the means. I don't agree, I think it's always been ends-justify.
Millennialism is an aspect, it's true, but there's so much there, including the recognition that liberalism is a religion.

Snork!
Oh yes: notice that the hardasses are all women. The "men" are the ones wavering.
Their argument is: accept the glory and justice that is Obamacare, or be denied pussy access.
It's a beautiful intellectual argument, don't you think?
Yeah, I guess there are lots of hopelessly pussified guys who will buy that---all destined to be weeded out of the gene pool.

And....I thought the libs told us torture doesn't work!!!!!
BWAAAhhahahahahahahahaaaa!

Considering that she can't be in the voting booth with you, I'd have to suggest that you say any damn thing she wants you to say, get laid and then vote how you like anyways.
What? How is she going to know?

In any case, the majority of Americans appear to dislike this bill, so they are kind of limiting their options, so to speak.
