NFL Week 13 Open Thread
— DrewM

You still have an hour or so to get your picks in.

A couple of good games today with the Cowboys and Giants in the premier late game. You might think you don't care about this game but no matter what happens, either Ace of Dave in Texas will be sad when it's over. That's a win for the rest of us right there.

Two other interesting games...Saints at the Redskins and Titans at the Colts.

Yeah, the Saints are undefeated and the Redskins are to be charitable, awful. Still it's an outdoor game and it's cold out and the Saints haven't been as dominant away from the Super Dome as they are at home. Saints probably win but it could be a trap game coming off the big win over the Patriots last Monday night.

The Titans started 0-6 and have 5 in a row since switching to Vince Young. The Colts are undefeated and will probably win but something will give and it'll probably be an entertaining game.

1 Hellllllllooooo nurse!

Also, I have hopes to get no points in my picks this week.  It's good to have goals.

I look for Washington to pull off a serious upset today. They've been playing monstrous defense for the past couple of weeks now. They almost handed the Cowboys their asses in Dallas.

okay, the Redskins don't have a chance, Blazer.

Sorry, but it's over in the 1stQ.

Posted by: a.k.a. at December 06, 2009 08:16 AM (b0OGA)

7 Also, I would love love love if the Colts lose.  There's something about Manning (both of them actually) that makes me want to smack him with a rock.

8
The Titans have a better shot winning today than the Redskins.

Posted by: a.k.a. at December 06, 2009 08:17 AM (b0OGA)

9
The Redskins will be lucky to score 10 points today. Do you really think any team, let alone the Redskins, can hold the Saints to under 10 points?

Posted by: a.k.a. at December 06, 2009 08:19 AM (b0OGA)

10
I wouldn't be surprised to if Jim Zorn gets fired today after the Saints thrash the Redskins at home.

Posted by: a.k.a. at December 06, 2009 08:20 AM (b0OGA)

11
Daniel Snyder will come down from his box to the field in the middle of the 2nd quarter and fire Jim Zorn.

Posted by: a.k.a. at December 06, 2009 08:21 AM (b0OGA)

12
There's a good chance Snyder will kill Zorn today with a longbow.

The Redskins defense is healthy and they get Haynesworth back today. Brees hasn't faced a defense like this so far this year. Lets see how many td's he can throw laying on his back.

The Saints most likely win, but its not gonna be a blow out like some are expecting.

I just got a note, since Brees is my QB on my FF team, speculating that the Saints will probably run the ball more since blustery and cold conditions are expected for the game.

Still, I agree with your predicted outcome of a Saints win, but not a blow-out win or even a win like last week's game.

Still, the cheerleader is very attractive.  Doesn't look aneroxic like some cheerleaders and I'm a sucker for dark skin and hair.  Alas, she doesn't look like a 90's Skinemax actress, *sighs*.

21 Oh, and i've noticed that all the sports yakkers are really building Vince Young up and declaring that he's the real deal. Hate to break it to 'em, but once you've had a freakout like Youngs, it's only a matter of time until it happens again. Only question is when.

Saints-Skins could be a trap game. Don't think it will, but it might. Skins offense is terrible, even if they did put up points against Philly - which is struggling too.

35 California child custody case sets legal precedent: 7-year old at the center of a tragic California child custody case A seven-year old boy found himself at the center of a Alameda County courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with California child custody laws and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible. The boy surprised the court when he revealed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him. After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Oakland Raiders, whom the boy firmly believes are incapable of beating anyone. Ah, memories.  The entire rest of that Super Bowl just doesn't exist.

Yahoo also counted Mechem's strip as a fumble for me (starting Saints defense).

Yeah, same thing for my opponent - although I'm wondering if he should get a TD as well.  Mainly because in my league, defenses get punished for offensive turnovers that are returned for TDs even though they're not on the field, so it would only be fair if it worked the other way, even if it does mean I take a hit for it.

115 Geeze, 'Skins lucky that didn't go the whole distance the opposite way.  How did he go out of bounds?

119 Damn, Gaytors lose, Dolphins win/Belicheat loses, and this 'Skins-Saints game has me on edge.  What a great early Christmas gift.

All that was missing was a Chiefs win, but they get another shot at the horseys.

If the Cowboys have to go on the road in the playoffs they are toast, especially if they end up a wild card at the end of the regular season. The rest of their schedule is brutal. They are lucky to be 6-3. They have only played two teams with winning records up to this point.
