Obama is the biggest failure since New Coke
— Purple Avenger

Pretty good Drinking With Bob rant vid below the fold...

While CRU was cooking the data with Sterno, Wikipedia was cooking any dissenting scientific opinion with a flame thrower. (via commenter K~Bob's tip)

And it looks like Obama's support among blacks is softening. (H/T Duane on this one)

...A breakout of black voters in Washington Post surveys over the past eight months shows that those who “strongly” approve of Obama fell from 85 to 69 percent, while his disapproval rating quintupled—from 2 to 11 percent. Admittedly, that’s still very low number, but it’s evidently moving in the wrong direction...

8 I think we should start up the "Rush Hudson Limbaugh DC Scholarship Fund."

1) The correct heads would explode.
2) There's only like 1000 partial scholarships.
3) If Rush himself actually got involved, Fundraising simplified.
4) We can target the people conservative think need help (poverty + merit) instead of Affirmative Action.
5) But the primary beneficiaries are already quite freaking steamed. This is the one area where Americans of African decent seem to be recognizing the bars of the cage the Dems have them in. So... shine the light here dammit.

It could work with Palin, or (naturally) Reagan. But it would work best with someone who is already in the limelight.

9 That's why I posted the bit out Wikipedia today.  I've been aware of this mindless mind-control game of theirs for a few years now.  But the proper response isn't freaking "Conserv-a-pedia."  It's competition, plain and simple.

Wikipedia is like a library with one book.  It's a big-ass book, but that's all you get.
Dissenting is disallowed (while being paid lip service) and even plain old, necessary-to-keep-from being-bored-to-death difference, is non-existent.

Short of opening a few dozen programs for Masters in Education across the country that focus on actual education, home school seems to be the quickest answer. Other than that, join PTA's, school boards if you're a parent. Vote for state representatives that want to dissolve state level control over education.

Actually, there's a lot of thing we can do. It's more a problem of time and effort than the 'correct' solution. Just my opinion, of course.

Posted by: eddiebear at December 20, 2009 12:14 AM (9aPEG)

No, they won't (in great numbers) vote Republican, especially with Obama on the ballot, but you are now seeing Stage 3: Depression, starting slowly to manifest itself.  One thing that bothered me about the high approval numbers among African Americans was that I can't compare them to other Democrats.  Although they ultimately vote about 90% for Democrats, there's a level of cynical skepticism about all politicians.

What is also happening is that he's making his supporters look bad and since he was the vehicle of the hopes and dreams of the African American community (Finally a black president!  Who besides AmishDude would have thought that being black would have been a net electoral positive in raaacist America?  Surely not Michael Steele.) he is letting them down by being incompetent on every level.

They defended him and he hasn't delivered anything except rank incompetence -- and not just on the big things but unforced errors on little things as well.  He's also a dork and an arrogant know-it-all prick.  He's completely unlikable unless he's nothing more than a symbol to you.

Ultimately, the black community will suffer a general malaise unless a black person with credibility challenges Obama or mocks him.  The only thing, I think, that will start the floodgates is a black comedian making fun of him.

I wonder if there's a little whispering about Obama in the way that Cedric's character in Barbershop ragged on Jesse Jackson.

I have a question about a reply that you made to one of my questions.

As I recall, you said that you taught trig and something to do with designs whenever you were able to teach the latter.

I'm pretty familiar with trig, but not the designs to which you referred. Without getting too technical, what aspect of mathematics is that? I'm curious. It's been years since I used math for any purpose, other than balancing my check book.

67 It isn't a drop in the black vote that will get Obama out of office. It will be a drop in the votes of ditzy whites who have a screwy notion that voting for Obama is kind of like giving a donation to a charity to feel better about themselves ..., an extremely irresponsible position to take on that issue.

Hi, Greg.  I don't recall that, but what designs are are algebraic structures.

A design is a family of subsets of some large set and the subsets have some intersection properties.  The most direct practical applications are th the constructions of codes.  I can't say much more in blog comments.  It's a part of combinatorics and related to graph theory.

A good introduction is Kirkman's schoolgirl problem.  (Which has nothing to do with Japanese schoolgirls and all of the mischief they seem to get into.)

The drop in black approval is merely the realization that he ISN'T going to pay their mortgage or buy the gas for their free car (that is, more than we've already been doing). After listening to the morons who lined up for hours for that 'free' money a couple months back and nearly started a full blown riot when it turned out not to be, this is the only thing that fits.

There seems to be a huge percentage of the permanent black underclass that is too many generations from earning a living themselves that are vested in 'free' stuff as a right, "because The Man been keepin' us down." Think Homey The Clown. These morally diseased folks came out in droves for Teh One as the Black Moses who would lead them out of the ghetto and into Bel Aire with a new Cadillac for everyone.

88 New Coke was a successful trick play.  It was designed so that we wouldn't notice the taste change when "classic coke" was re-released.  The ingredients changed, and they started using the much cheaper corn syrup instead of more expensive and better tasting sugars.

I hope that he is a true failure, and not just a marketing trick to accept something else coming from Washington.

89 remember obama's reactions to a free falling stock market-- he actually started laughing and giggling, as if he really didn't care about economy or those working on wall street.  in a capitalist society, reagan's trickle down theory does indeed effect minorities. perhaps they are beginning to understand that most of us aren't employed by poor people, and when our bosses fear losing their jobs or income, it's the little guys that first gets the boot.

unemployment is a bitch when you've been floating by on good intentions and affirmative action.
